The problem is I guess difficult to steer away from the political backdrop. It's too over-bearing that anything…
Heroes (2024) was fantastic and a good example of a historical drama, because they crafted a story that could only be about THAT TIME and THAT PLACE which had vivid characters caught in a period of transition. It made history come to life. That's why I am curious about A Love Never Lost, hoping it might be good.
What mistake was fixed? The issue with RMP was that fans of the anime and game were disapointed about the story…
Count me one of the RMP haters who is a big fan of both ML and FL actors and didn't think any 'cesty undertones were an issue. I also usually like older woman/younger man ships. I also love ballet moves for sword fighting. RMP should have been a hit with me. But I think that 1) yes LiP needed to have aired first, it would have connected us more to the story and changed the stakes and 2) frankly imo it was a weak script and weak directing. 2 actors I normally love recieved weak direction, bad pacing, badly communicated story. I found it basically unwatchable, just on a personal basis. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I do feel like LiP has better storytelling flow, better story arc construction that keeps the viewer engaged, better directing and cinematography. Though for people who enjoyed RMP, I envy them. Great!
winning is not the forte for this to be culminating in three parts..this is the first of all..then Red moon pact…
I believe the ethos is basically aligned with "Angel: the series" from the 2000s: Evil can never fully be defeated, past sins can never be redeemed by current heroic deeds, the universe is uncaring and devoid of transcendent meaning and will not reward you for your virtue. The proper response to this is to simply deal with the problems in front of you and help those you can help each and every day.
Heroes don't fight the good fight because they will win. They do it because it's the right thing to do - to try to reduce suffering, for whatever time is possible and for whomever it is possible.
Every episode we spend in the gross demon slavery kingdom reminds me how I despise every complicit resident of this city state and how repulsed I was of that arc in Red Moon Pact ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ I can't recall if this hell state finally falls in RMP but praying for its end in Sword and Beloved. ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Am I the only one who thinks the chemistry between the leads is actually great? Whenever they look at each other,…
The eye acting is A+++++ Especially the FL, the way she looks at him! I find I rewind their romantic scenes a lot. I just appreciate great face acting. These two truly conveyed a special warmth starting around Ep 17. I'm fascinated to think how a person DOES this.
She asked Hongye about that tell her or not. He said he will get problem in yuqi alliance if Dongfang Qinlan reveal…
Definitely there's an intent there in the narrative and it's manufactured. They're creating a justification not to tell her, because the story needs it - the narrative wants the next generation (the MLs in the other 2 series) to misunderstand Hongye and think he did her wrong. They need to be influenced by what Qinlan and outsiders say about the relationship. So Qinlan must not know the full truth herself. We know this from the already aired Red Moon Pact.
At least we know from the start so we can make a choice to watch a SE drama. I normally hate SE dramas but tbh I'm still watching this one because at least I'm not being given false promises.

I agree that it's risky. Let's be real, she's not very subtle and she's very mischievous. She could joke around about their secret identities and reveal them. I don't blame him for not trusting her with a big, dangerous secret.
I heard that it's the director's fault as he even commented on how to kiss and how to do stuff like that๐
Generally I think the director is at fault or to be praised on kiss scenes. The director is DIRECTING them and in charge of making sure there are good angles and blocking, and should be ensuring the kiss communicates the intended sentiment/mental state of the time. If the actors are doing it poorly and the director gives no DIRECTION- it's their fault.
I like a practical guy like him... But I also think he is honestly love HZ.. He can be both..
I feel like FL ends up with the same conclusion after that arc. At first she was repulsed by his arrogant & reckless scheming side but then she sees his bravery and passion as well, and his sincere feelings. He's definitely both and I've been won over like she was lol.
