Id like to know if this is better than my journey to you?
It's just different. Personal preference will determine. I like them both A LOT but what appeals to me is different lol.
I looooove the romance in MJTY, that and the fights & spy vs spy plotting. But in FoF it's all about the friendships and tragically beautiful demons. Not romance.
I hate the whole "WX just there for pass the censorship" not only people who say this are basically shitting on…
I think it's just got to be accepted that people have different tastes. I both really like the FL but I can also see how her personality won't appeal to some people. It's ok to not like all the main characters in a drama.
Some viewers have a strong preference for assertive characters who are repeatedly taking direct and decisive action to drive the plot forward. This FL is not that style of character. That is not technically bad or good imo. But some people won't be drawn to her.
I am really enjoying how the cast and atmosphere has this ethereal, fever-dream unreality vibe... So you feel like it's a dream world we've stepped into, with demi-gods and demons and spirits. Some commenters say it feels like BL but I'd theorize no, not exactly. What we're instead observing is the "faerie" sensibility where gender is more fluid and sensuality flows freely and unrestricted by labels and roles. There's passion, empathy, longing, and it's experienced in the extreme.
Hard to call this one forced when it's been heavily foreshadowed from episode 1. All the pieces are arranged. It will more be a forced HE if that actually happens LOL
I didn't watch much dramas in 2024 to be honest, but at least in 2024 there is one drama "My Boss" that has a…
some chinese dramas (historical/costume) with happy endings: Princess Royal (2024) Blossoms in Adversity (2024) In Blossom (2024) Legend of Shen Li (2024) Are You The One (2024) Rise of Ning (2024)
Honestly, cdramas get a rep for sad endings and I get it, because I hate SE dramas and avoid them. But it's only about 30% of what airs each year. There are always plenty of HE ones. Just need to be cautious. ;)
The juxtaposition of having the main couple spend time together, talk and learn about eachother while on the other…
yes that's part of the conceit of the novel and drama, in this case! The official story ML and FL (Mu Yao is the official story FL, of the story our protagonist was inserted into)... they are in love because the story says so. And barriers show up to test their love because the story says so. In this case, they're SUPPOSED to feel flat and less alive than the "non canon" organic love being built between Miaomaio and Mu Sheng, which was not intended in the story and takes a lot of changes and effort to bring to fruition.
someone who read the novel tell whats going to happen to mu shengs confession, also please put spoiler warning
this subplot is handled different in the novel. same basic case in the capital but many details changed. no comparative scene. the marquis with a crush on miaomiao doesn't exist in this case in the novel.
This convention where non-human YZY is part of group when they need him but his hurts and feelings matter less than the "real" team members is the kind of material that turned me off American scifi/fantasy TV. tbh I am a bit surprised to encounter it in a cdrama. It's alienating me from this drama and I think I might drop. So sad because I loved the early episodes and I thought this might be a top 10 for me. :(
According to me, there are two possibility for the death of the Mu family.1st Mu Ziqi killed the Mu family: Perhaps…
that flashback we saw...the story he told Mu Yao is definitely at least partially untrue! It's written all over his face. I think kid Mu Sheng was at least partially responsible. Theory 1 is what I am going with right now.
Well, they were in the 40s-50s I believe. Women had to act and behave certain ways otherwise people will talk…
TBH it actually annoys me more in period dramas where characters act in a way that simply isn't realistic to that place and time. You can make your protagonist an iconoclast and rebellious. But then others in their life WILL be uncomfortable with it. The catch is can we understand the ML's POV and think that he is good for the FL, considering the era they live in. Don't depict modern relationship dynamics and modern values in something set 70+ years ago. Otherwise what's the point of making a period piece? Just write a modern drama.
my guys... why do I feel like the overall plot is gonna end up being: Everyone who joins the team falls in love with Zhu Yan, despite him being a massive troll. Then he dies.
is this HE????? I'm eager to know 😭 , or everyone will die????
No way to know. No spoilers available. But we should honestly assume a majority of the cast will die. I guessed this early on in A Journey to Love, also KMLM. All the signs are here again. Prepare for a tragic ending.
I'm only seeing edits and people talking about side characters. Is that because this is focused more on friendship…
I'm 9 ep in and I don't really see a ROMANCE anywhere yet. There's a sense of emotional closeness and a bond between 2 main characters (demon and mortal hunter) but TBH it has that ambiguous feel to me that you can have in fantasy with immortal and inhumans. Would they ever get married? Will they ever kiss outside of a dream sequence? I don't know! Be close, hold hands, tend to each other yes. But exactly what the emotions are is ambiguous. But imo it's really enjoyable. I like their vibes and seeing their closeness develop.
Not a bad drama, more slice of life, with some political intrigues, family drama and love interspersed throughout.…
To me her disgust with the SML made complete sense. The drama clearly established her as a person with strong morals and who cares about innocent lives. Part of her attraction to the ML in drama canon is she perceived the goodness of his character and admired his loyalty, and his promises that his schemes will not harm innocents. She is not the type of person who is attracted to Dark Bad Boy Who Is Only Nice to Me. She's simply not that girl. 2ML kept fixating on the fact he didn't push her off that cliff, missing that her true repulsion was when she saw the truth of him and how he will treat anyone not his Meimei. That may not have been true in the novel, but in the drama I felt like it was made obvious why she would never be won over. He is simply too amoral to see himself clearly and why his behavior is repellent.
Exactly! I thought I was the only one. I usually HATE when actresses use baby voices. Maybe the sweet, innocent…
I really think part of it is body language. She doesn't put on a"little girl" act that commonly accompanies such a voice. No wide eyes and wide mouth. Just acts normally for someone 17/18.
