Please make her stop screaming

A new judging criteria should be added: scream level. FL starts as a little girl always smiling hoping that a happy and nice child will be more easily adopted than a sad and crying one, but as an adult she cries and above all screams a lot..maybe too much. A good story is somehow ruined by this interpretation, like it happened with Kill me Heal me.
And talking about comparison, here you can't help but compare Woo Do Hwan with Kim Woo Bin (Uncontrollably fond) and Lee Jun Ho (Just between lovers) and I'm sorry to say that the result is not so positive. Maybe his performance is ruined ruined by the over the top acting of Yoo Mi Lee.
Anyway, I enjoyed whatching this drama even if it didn't involve me emotionally as I thought.

It will always be a 10 for me...

10, 10 and always 10 no matter what version.
The chemistry, the tension, the feelings beyond the gazes lingering everywhere.
No matter how many times I watch this drama, it never fails to move me.
The story is not exceptional, it can also be considered trivial, but how they act is astonishing.
How they portray the growing of their feelings toward each other, how they naturally turn from friends to something more, how they cherish each other and search for each other no matter what.
Everytime I finish it I always want to start it all over again.

Thai low comedy taken to the extreme

In Italy we have the so called "cinepanettoni", films that usually come out during Christmas time based on low comedy and sexual innuendos. You need to like this genre to enjoy them or to be in the right mood. This series is like a loooooong cinepanettone taken to the extreme. At times I almost wanted to scream for how silly some scenes were. Only the story between Tutor and Fighter kept me going on and a few scenes between Zon and Saifah that were less cringy than the most of the series.
Whatching a thai drama for me is always challenging because I never know if I'm going to stand their low comedy or not and in this case I barely could.
I gave an overall 6 just for Tutor and Fighter and for the wonderful songs.

A standard cdrama with all its flaws, but...

As may cdramas, useless scenes and a lot of product placement make it too long and sometimes boring or annoying, but the develpment of the love story is so good!
For the first time we witness the growing of a credible relationship. You never ask yourself why they are together or why they love each other.
They go from being strangers meeting by accident and disliking each other to love in such a natural way. Sport is the common ground, most of their dialogues are about this, they share passions and difficulties how a real boy and a real girl would in the same situation. Common experiences lead them to become friends and then lovers for a reason and not "just because" as many kdramas tell us.
Unlike many cdramas, the whole cast is so good and the only weak point (bedised the ones mentioned at the beginning of this rewiev) are close-ups on "action" scenes..a bad slow motion in front of a just as bad background.

A simple but entertaining love story

Love it, love it, love it! This drama brought me back to my teenage years when I used to watch anime on Tv. It's the kind of Japan productions I love the most: a romantic and simple story with the right amount of drama to escape from daily life. It will entertain you, it will make you laugh and cry.
The characters are well portrayed and true to themselves till the end. The acting is good.
You may say that Sakura is a little too naive and sometimes a little foolish, but that's the reason why the main couple works so good and the plot is so lively.

At least the teddy bears at the end of each episode where cute

When I wasn't sleeping I felt uncomfortable and irritaded by almost all the characters. In the end I think I can save only FL's father and Bong Joon-gu.
Annoying behaviours, stalking, obsessions, gratuitous wickedness...I could go on for hours...
Even the topic of sacrifice to save the family business is portrayed in a not-at-all convincing way.
I'm so sorry to say all this because I see Kim Hyun Joong as a good actor and a few glances in this drama gave me butterflies.
Since the Korean version was so bad, I thinkI'll never watch any other version at all.

Rating may depend on if you have already seen the other adaptations of the orginal manga..

If it's your first adaptation of Hana yori dango manga..then...it may be a 7..the story has its flaws, sometimes it is unrealistic, there's a lot of gratuitous and unjustified violence, but the acting is good and, in the end, it is a classic impossible love story between two people belonging to different worlds. The "everything is possible if you hold on and really believe"-feeling is always catchy.

If you have already seen other adaptions as I did (started with Chinese Meteor Garden, passing through Korean Boys over flowers and Japanese Hana yori dango before this one)..well...for me it's a 10..the focus is more on the main couple and their personal struggles, less space given to side stories and therefore less wasted time. Gorya and Thyme are better described and also their thoughts and reasons are better explained. This couple is also the one with the best chemistry and they seem not to be stuck in some simple stereotypical character.
Special mention: Gorya's best friend..finally she has some dignity and, even if she appears a little less than in the other adaptations, she is not a simple naive teenage girl passing by and falling blindly in love for the pretty and rich one.

I will hardly get over it

Let me start with the negative sides (if there are any): it's true that the plot is rushed, maybe weak and the characters deserved more time to be better defined and described. Akane character could have been better written because too often she appears like the usual jdrama FL unable to do anything on her own and waiting for her Prince Charming to come and save her.
After this premise, here's why for me it's an absolute 10: the very first scene left me breathless and all songs are an explosion of emotions and power. The acting is top notch and Takeru Satoh shines as he always does in all the series I've seen.
It's like a long music video with a little story in between the singing and I find it perfectly balanced like this.
Few are the dramas that make me want to start over again once finished, but this is one of them. As soon as the last episode ended, I felt the urge to go back to that incredible first scene and the one in which Naoki and Toya sing together on the roof of the hospital.
Maybe too many things were left inresolved or poorly depicted, but they did the best with the time given and a longer series wouldn't have been so powerful and perfect as it is now.

It hit me so hard..

Far from being perfect, this drama hit me so hard.
As most thai dramas, there are a lot of useless scenes, scenes in which dialogues are so nonsense and only product placement would have saved them, given them a reason to exist.
Then there are all those staring scenes in which chatacters look at each other motionless for what it feels like hours...
Despite this and the entanglement of the plot, I could feel every single emotion displayed..joy, sorrow, anxiety...I found myself wishing for their happiness and suffering for their struggles.
I wish there was a Taiwanese version of this drama...I think it would be a masterpiece!

Wasted potential

The story was nice, acting was good and the number and lenght of the episodes were ok, but something went missing. Maybe focusing on side stories and characters a little too much for such a bit-sized drama took away space to the main storyline. It would have been better if we got to know a little more about the protagonists' beginning of the story, when they where in school. Or maybe a little more interaction between them would have made us fall deeper in love with these two interesting but just sketched characters.

It may not be a masterpiece but it's good

It took me a long time before deciding to start this BL because I was coming from a couple of very disappointing thai drama (too stupid and senseless) and reviews weren't so good.
But once I stared I couldn't stop! The story is more mature and serious compared to a lot of Thai BLs and the acting is good.
I found the chemestry between the two main leads amazing, above all in the office scenes where they're supposed to hide their relationship. The interactions during work time are sometimes as sexy as the private scenes where they're making out.
Many important topics are brought to light too, even if in a superficial way (sexual harrassment, mental health, safe sex...). To deal with all these subjects well should have taken at least 5 more episodes to be fully treated, making the series too heavy to watch since it was written with the primary aim to entertain. Anyway it was important to at least mention these issues.

No romantic vibe at all

I felt no romantic vibe throughout the whole show.
It seems more like they get together because they've known each other for so long and they know each other so well that it just feels right to be a couple, like sticking to their comfort zone forever.
The only remarkable scene is the one of the breakup, the only episode where I could actually feel something and sense some sympathy for both characters.
Between the two, anyway, ML was the more communicative both towards the FL and the public with his acting.

I was about to drop it, but then it changed completely

I was about to drop it becuase I found both acting and story boring, but halfway everything changed and I couldn't stop watching any more.
The story became more deep, the acting so natural and sincere, it felt like watching a real story, with real people simply being themselves.
The ending could have been better, but all in all it was right like this.
I didn't enjoy much the second couple storyline, it felt too awkward and a little forced. Not counting the fact that the hearing imparing was completely useless and incredibly solved in a second with a hearing aid. If you wanted to brush it off like this, you had better not put this element in the first place.

You will need a huge suspension of disbelief...

...as Coleridge said. Nothing makes sense in this drama, starting from Ever 9.
An AI created to treat emotional issues that has more emotional issues than the human he's supposed to help. Please tell me that I missed something or I missunderstood something because this doesn't make any sense.
It's the classical fast-paced BL, so I didn't expect many explanations or a slow-burning story, but the cold-hearted main lead fell in love without much esitation with this robot and it doesn't make any sense to me. May it happened because Ever 9 kissed him straight away without any apparent reason? No sense.

If you endure the first 4/5 episodes that it gets better

I personally don't like very much those dramas where everybody keeps screaming and shouting instead of talking and this drama starts exactly like this. Moreover, the first interractions between the main leads are kinda forced just to portray their love/hate friendship.
I kept watching because I instantly fell in love with the second couple and the friendship of Lavander team. These got me through the first awkward episodes and then I started to really enjoy the show.
The topics treated are many and important ones (even if a few of them have become kind of clichés now, like the theme of overworking and mental exaustion), but too often the actors used exaggerated ways to bring them on the screen.
