This drama is well executed and full of tropes. I like the Male Lead. And I find the story cute.
This is a classic kdrama and I like it. But the story is not suprising at all. So not everyboby can like it.

I thought about it but the Female Lead mother said that they will forget everything if they break-up. However, they did not.

I have a crazy theory:
Second Male Lead( Ling Yuan) tried to kidnapp Female Lead's twin sister (Wen Hao) but missed and kidnapped Female Lead ( Wen Xi) mistakenly.
Meanwhile, Wen Hao knew about the abduction and contracted a mercenary : Male Lead ( Xu Zhe Qing ) to save Female Lead ( Wen Xi) .

Because the more I think about it, the more I find it weird:
Why Wen Hao did not call interpol to retrieve Wen Xi ?
Why contracting a pricey mercenary?

My guess, she knew it was related to her investigation at G.E. group. And she wanted to keep it secret to keep on investigating.

Step 1 corner her
Step 2 force himself onto her (kiss or worst)
Step 3 ruin her reputation in front of her bestfriend (who can't put up with him)
Step 4 make it official at work to trap her more

I wonder if ever male lead doesn't have an investigation aside because he was the DJ at dark bar. Why did he almost strangle female lead?
To frighten her, so that she doesn't come back to this bar?

That makes sens. Yes, she is too infatuated and thinks of male lead. she looses her composure everytime he is in front of her.
Indeed she could ask male lead for help. In the future she will, hopefully.

I don't think that she is weak or damsell in distress.
She is an average clever girl who does not do fung fu.
She adapted to situations and she found ways to escape or to investigate.
I personnally find her couragous not weak.
Yes, she fell head over hells for male lead but she tries to keep her head above the water.

Female Lead did not learn martial arts but she is clever. I wouldn't say that she is weak.

I am currently watching a 10 mn drama "embrace in the dark night". It's ongoing, it is good and very hot ( nothing licentious though).
I was never bored, not even a minute.
