Great basis for a long length drama with fluffy romance and supernatural creature.

Story : Betrayed by her lover in her past life. A female taoist captures a clueless fairy in order to deliver him, in exchange for the secret of her past treason. But she feels gradually drawn to her prey. Will she let him go?

This storyline is very simple so I will not indulge in explaination about the plot.
This drama is a cute and easy watch narrating the love story between a green flag male Lead and a wanna be villainness but cute and sassy Female Lead. Their quest is adventurous and there are several moments in wich the sparks are flying in the sweetest way.

This drama is not perfect but it can definitly be a great basis for an epict story in a long length drama. I would watch this love story for sure.

Pros :
Green Flag ML.
Green Flag wanna be Red flag FL who previously wants to capture ML and sell him. But love gets in the way.
I like the ending.
Good morals.
CGI was OK for the budget.
Good comedy.

Cons:
Low budget drama.
Special effects.

Overall :
This is an easy watch and happy pill for those who like interspecies fluffy romances during an adventurous quest.
PS : I think the rating is impacted by the budget of this drama.

Perfect fairytale on human nature disguised in a funny romcom.

Story: As a high schooler, FL had an unrequited love for ML who used to flee her. Years later, still mocked for beeing ugly, fate brigh them once more face to face, but this time she receives a filter that can make her look beautiful...

Well...This drama was an unforgettable watch. I liked it so much. I gave it my first 10 for 2025.

First of all, I started the drama as it was airing and I watch until episode 4. It was so interesting and so much happened in those 4 episodes that, I had the impression I was in mid-season already. There I knew I couldn't bear the wait for each episode to be released. I could feel the drama was so good that I would be frustrated to wait. So I shelved it until all the episode aired 3 days ago and I decided to resume it. I binged it in 2 days.

Oh My ... What a great drama. It is one of those dramas that help you understand the world we live in and that give strength and courage to go on. I appreciate the critic of the way we treat beauty in our society nowadays. Every one of us can be Su Cheng Cheng (FL) or Tang QI (ML) : humans with flaws that do their best to make it in life. Tong Hua ( the writer) gave us an endearing story with a lot of twist and turns and I liked it very much.
After watching this I have the impression I learned something on human nature and that makes me give it a 10.
In this world when someone is beautiful, he is well treated. And it feels like luck. On the countrary when someone doesn't look like a covergirl/boy, that person is ignored and disregarded. And It feels like a curse.
This drama made me think a lot about how everyone's stand point on beauty standards can make a difference.
The story is crafted as a modern fairytale and this is why some mystery remains as part of the setting. I like it.


Pros :
- Stellar acting.Tan Jian Ci and Landy Li are rocking it. The rest of the cast is great too.
- Great message and thematic, make it a thought-provoking drama.
- Unique story. Great.
- No evil second Female Lead. That's refreshing.
- Very cute and fluffy romance.
- I like the fact that, the drama show that good intentions wrongly channeled might produce misdeeds.
- I liked the way the writer treated the topic of "the secret". Several secrets are shown is this drama and they all have a different outcome. (secret that induce good, secret that induce bad, fake secret everybody knows, secret nobody should know and secret that it is best to disclose for everybody to know.)

Cons :
- The early story of the second couple felt ridiculous to me. But taking in account SFL's temper. If her encounters with ML was not treated that way. I am not sure we would have had a second couple. So I forgive the writer.
- Some characters don't have side stories. But would it be messy of a plot if they had ? I am puzzeld.
- The main intrigue is resolved by episode 26. The remaining episodes allow us to watch the main couple help others to solve their side stories. It was cute.
- Make-up could have been better sometimes (one castmember : yellow face/ rosy neck) *smh*

Overall :
It is is a drama that is worth watching regarding the topic and the quality of the show. If you like thought-provoking drama disguised in a romcom with a lot of funny moments. This drama is for you.

Simplistic plot for a sexy family drama - It feels like the sequel of "Your Trap"

FL is amnesiac after an accident 7 years ago. She had 2 children and she meets ML who is looking for her because she was his fiancé at the time.

The background story is very similar to the plot of "Your Trap" (for those who know it, I will not spoil it here). It feels like a sequel with different names. They even kept the same filming locations. This is nice to notice, the same restaurant, office, father's villa, appartment, staircase.... I was still happy to watch the same heroes again.
Is it as steamy as "Your Trap" is ? There is some very steamy scenes but I would say that it is overall rather warm than hot. I am not surprised because it is a family drama. The kids are mischievous and very cute and I enjoyed watching them play tricks on their mother.

Liked :
- Strong and sexy ML and FL.
- Cute and mischievous little children.
- Some funny jokes.

Disliked :
- One dimesional villains.
- Acting sometimes lacking ( not the leads, they are great).
- Simplistic revenge plot.
- I would have liked the oversease scenes to be handled differently because those were not very interesting to me, for the most part. Some particular ones around the temple were great though. It dragged the story a little bit.

Overall:
It is an easy watch, cute and funny. Especially because of the children. I liked it and recommend it. Some steamy kiss as well, for those who like them.

Revenge of a canary : the sadistic romance.

Story : A woman who is owned and abused like a caged canary by a conglomerate heir, is trying to break free. She gets entangled with his brother.

I first thought this drama would be sadomasochistic when I first read the summary. And I ended up being very surprised because since the very first scenes on episode 1, the audience understands that the heroine doesn't like at all being kept is a cage and mistreated by a rich heir. She wants to break free. So this is more about a sadistic rich guy trying to subdue a resilient woman than a BDSM relationship between 2 consenting adults. So if violence is a trigger for you. Be careful with this drama.

That being said, it was a great joy to watch the leads (Zizi Xu and especially Wang Zu Yi who was coming back after a hiatus). The acting was as a result very good. The story was interesting, however I wanted to see more elaborated schemes but this is just me. The traps were good to be honest.

I liked the show. At some point it was excruciating to wait for 1 episode released each day. Ah It was really testing my patience.
At the end I was happy with the main couple as well as the ending.

Pros :
- Brilliant and smart businessman ML.
- Resilient and smart Businesswoman FL.
- Aesthetics and visuals.
- The good morals and the story about the empowerment of the FL.
- Good acting especially ML, but also FL.
- FL is unwavering and always fights. This is great to see that she is always on her way to freedom.
- No transgressive taboo situation.

Cons :
- No side stories. A pity because some characters could have been developed.
- Violent warning.
- Sadistic SML .
- One-dimensional villains.
- Some clichés and tropes.

Overall :
A nice watch despite the angst at the very beginning because of the bad treatment FL is subjected to.
I felt good at the end of this drama, so if you can stand some BDSM and mistreatment scenes leading to the empowerment of the wronged FL. Thus good morals which makes you feel good at the end. This drama is for you.

Romcom Investigation Mini Drama done right.

The story : After a drunken misunderstanding XiLing and ZhaoHe keep crossing paths, as she is accused of colluding with her fiancé to embezzle the company's money.

This drama is a beautiful surprise. I started watching it with no expectations. And I was seduced by the comedy, the fast pacing of the story and the good chemistry of the leads. The money talks are not boring and the romance is heartfluttering. Some beautiful kisses as well. It kept me interested. So I recomment it. It reminds me of the story of Michelle & Barack Obama who was her trainee when she met him. ( Minus the age gap ).

Pro :
- Strong and sassy Female Lead.
- Strong and commited Male lead.
- Good pacing.
- Good comedic scenes.
- Very realistic.

Con :
- One dimensional villain.
- The fighting scenes could have been better executed but I forgive them, because it is a mini drama with low budget. They did their best with what they had.
- The second couple could have been portrayed more in my opinion ( SML), but I understand that the emphasis was on the first couple and I liked it.

Overall:
I liked this drama and I recommend it if you like lighthearted romcom.

Pleasant surprise for a time loop political revenge drama.

Story: To strenghten ties between their kingdoms a southern scholar maries a northern princess. But she is in reality an assasin and the two find themself trapped in time loops.

First of all, it is not the basic setting of the character trapped in the novel or so. This is really a maze. And it grew on me, as I was watching it and I really enjoyed it.
This is a mortal enemies to lovers trope, so from the get go, there is action and stunts mixed with romance. This is how the characters took me with them to discover this story of political betrayal, espionage and war resulting in a peace-making marriage. I found myself crying at some point of time, watching the leads and I understood that I was already in love with the drama.
There was a first arc and a second arc which is like an introduction to a season 2.
If the story had ended in one season my rating would have been even higher. But let's see if we get a sequel.


Pros :
- Good acting.
- Good kisses and good chemistry.
- Good plot. I liked the time loops and the maze in which the characters try to uncover the truth.
- Good action scenes.
- The side characters are mysterious and that's good for the rest of the show.
- Costume were beautiful for that budget. I have seen the same in superior dramas.

Cons:
- Ridiculous main villain but not one-dimensional. So that's a plus.
- 2 arcs. I would have liked the first arc to give us a proper ending. But at the same time I would like to watch a season 2 because all the side characters have mysterious motives and backgrounds. And I am curious about it.

Overall :
A pleasant surprise time loop drama. It was great. I liked everything Even the first arc which was Male centric and the second arc which was Female centric. So if you like mazes like I do and you can accept a story that opens to a second season. This drama is for you.

Endearing and sensible taboo show which succesfully kept it's elegance . Bravo.

Lin is the ex Mistress of Rangsan ( ML's dad ) when she is pursued by his son (Khatha). The wife learns about it...

The plot is nothing but explosive. In a taboo situation like that, what would one do?
Watching this show, I was evidently intrigued by the very problematic situation Lin encounters because this reminds me of a real life situation I saw happening in my hometow, in which a daughter fell for her mother's lover and finally, after a lot of scandalous gossips, the two managed to settled together and had a child. So I was intrigued to know how this story could be handled.
Well, I am happy they kept some elegance in this show. The characters are not one-dimensional and the plot was well executed.
I would have liked the drama to be longer though. Because A lot of plot point was rushed at the very end ( episode 19 to 21) to finish the show.


Pros :
- Sassy and strong FL on the surface but with some emotional scars deep inside.
- Redeemable FL.
- Sincere and cute non perfect ML
- The wife is supposed to be a multi-dimensional character. It is also interesting that for being the wife who has been cheated on ( episode 1 ) she should be the victim. But the writer made a villain of her. Clever.
- The drama stays always elegant and even sexy but never vulgar. Bravo to the maker for keeping the story beautiful and thus endearing to watch.
- A lot of twist and turns.

Cons :
- Some misunderstandings.
- The evil wife is very annoying.
- The ending fells rushed because soo much more could have happened to Lin and Khatha. And I wish we had 10 more episodes.
- The husband Rangsan could have been more utilized in this drama. I wish he was more present.

Overall :
Endearing and sassy story with a sweet bickering couple. I loved all of it. And I recommend it because Lin is totally redeemable. And Khatha is a tru hero, although he is not perfect. You might enjoy this cute and sexy story as much as I did.

Spy drama for men with great fighting scenes

To save her company an heiress decides to marry a humble security guard. But who is he?

This drama is a guilty pleasure for those who like spy movies with a lot of action. The fights are marvellous. And the bromance between the Second Male Leads and the hero is great. This drama is like a James Bond movie in which all the Female Leads beg Male Leads to have intercourse with them. So our fellow MDL men members might like this romance.

Pros:
- Leo Yang is great in every aspect in this drama, whether it is comedy, action or romance.
- Great action scenes.
- Good Chemistry between Second Female Lead and Male Lead.
- Sexual tension.
- Great chubby Second Male Lead. A great surprise.
- Fast pacing .
- A lot of steamy moments, especially with the Second Female Lead, those are well executed.

Cons:
- Zero Chemistry between Female Lead and Male Lead. Too bad she is too cold. Even in intimate scenes she is cold. Luckily Male Lead saves the day.
- The plot is developed superficially. The writer could have gone farther. It was ok though.
- The climax with the villain is to predictible. If you know "the bourn identity", this is the same topic. But rushed.

Overall: This is an entertaining and beautiful drama with beautiful actresses and a eye-candy Male Lead.
If you like spy movies, this drama is for you.

Twin switching : they might play with your head.

What happens when the evil twin impersonates the lover of an heiress, in order to seize a fortune ?

I enjoyed the twin switching and they misled me sometimes. Thinking Zhuo was Yue and vice versa. This story about a race for power and money amidst jealousy and love kept me glued to my screen as it was airing.
I liked the acting and the pacing as well as the story. Although the ending was rushed to my personal taste. But it was still a big surprise.

Pros:
- Male Lead, Leo Yang was great in this drama. I pretty much always recognised who was who between the twins, everytime.
- Female Lead is a strong character, well played by Li Huan.
- Harem : 3 bachelorette 1 prince. That part was hilarious at times.
- Good pacing.

Cons :
- Cliché : the evil grand mother. I wish we could avoid that.
- The ending feels rushed to my taste.
- Some extraordinary/ almost unbelivable elements which make the story a little over the top. But this is a mini drama. I am not watching Agatha Christie. It is sometimes hilarious. I forgive them.

Overall:
A simple plot but a lot of twists and turns, and the drama plays with your mind when the twin are switching and also with the cliffhangers at the end of the episodes.
I liked the drama and I recommend it, if you like to play hide and seek, looking at the ML micro expressions to guess the rest of the story. It is an entertaining drama.

Funny to watch two badass ex lovers forced to play the enamoured couple for TV.

What happens when the badass FL (Xu MingXin ) is forced to enter a cohabitation love show. And she ends up paired with her cheating ex-boyfriend. Now, they will have to make more and more intimate contacts.

After such a great premise with a forced cohabitation between a cheater and his victim. I had to watch this. I knew it would be entertaining and it was. The Female Lead was annoying at times but it is her persona. The plot on the other hand was very entertaining and sometimes funny. The drama kept me interested as the plot developed and more and more antagonists appeared.
Another good point. The ending was satisfying and well executed.

Pro:
- Badass Female Lead and Badass Male Lead.
- Action scenes.
- The plot is good and the games in the love show are entertaining.
- The setting is gorgeous : the house, the beach, the mountain....
- I liked that several antagonist arrived as the drama progressed. I was more and more addicted to the story. And wanted to see the Lead Couple defeat them.
- Good comedy.
- Good communication between the Leads.

Cons:
- Childish Female Lead.
- The subtitles on Tencent are not good. It is better to watch on you tube. The subtitles are more accurate.
- No side stories. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to develops the Second Couple's love story, what a pity.
- Misunderstandings but quickly solved.

Overall:
I liked this drama and I recommend it if you like enemies to lovers trope featuring former lovers with a touch of action and comedy.

Goofy romance in ancient times. I laughed so much.

A modern day influencer (FL) travels back in time to the 19th century to help a slave (ML) to find love.

Well... This romance is very funny and made me laugh a lot. Although the harsh daily life of slaves in the 19 th century in Thailand was cruel. The drama managed to make me feel all kinds of emotions, other than fear. I liked the sassy Female lead and the clever Male Lead who knew how to defuse dire situations.
I recommend this drama if you like romances with comedic scenes and historical dramas.

Pros:
- Clever and sassy Female Lead.
- Smart and strong Male Lead.
- Realistic historical setting of history.
- Goofy drama.
- I also liked the investigations and twists an turns in this drama.

Cons:
- You my have second male lead syndrome with this drama :)
- Low budget, but they cope well. The drama is well made in my views.

Overall:
I liked this drama and I would have liked a season 2. One of the few time travel drama which finishes with a bright happy ending. This is rare.

This drama is like a delicious margherita pizza.
There is so many pizza recipes out there, but the margherita pizza is the basis of them all.
When the ingredients are top quality and the recipe is well executed. You got a delicious margherita pizza that you cannot help but devour.

I have the same feeling about this drama. The story is simple: two former high schoolers reconnect after 10 years. The Male Lead had a big hidden crush on Female Lead. What will happen?

I was more and more drawn to this simple story full of clichés and tropes but the drama is so well executed that none of the tropes nor the clichés seemed annoying or out of places.
I found myself rooting for the Lead's romance at every single moment until the 8th final episode.

So, if you like a well executed classic k-drama rom-com featuring strong-witted leads and good side stories, this drama is for you.

Eye-candy "Noir" atmosphere but draggy sometimes : 2, 3, 4 scenes or settings by episodes.

Story : An heiress was deceived and betrayed then killed by her cheating husband. when reborn, she is set for revenge.

Well... The premise of this drama is great. And the cast was great in previous works, so I decided to watch this drama with high expectations. I didn't feel disappointed by the acting. The leads are great actors and the rest of the cast members are also doing a good job.
However the story could have been better. The script is simplistic. The 10 mn episodes are not showning enough development to my personal taste. The problem is not the shortness of the episodes. The problem is how the episodes are built. Several times I had the impression to watch 2 or 3 long scenes in the same setting. And I feel that, this might be the reason why the drama was a little too much slow paced.
In a nutshell : it is like a movie they cut every 2 or 3 scenes and they called it a drama. To me it felt weird.

Other than that, it was an easy watch if I don't question too much the accuracy of the script.

Pros :
- ML & FL are played by great actors that really liked in previous works : Dai Gao Zheng and He Hua.
- The story is good, even if it is very simple and the twist and turns are not surprising.
- The last twist at the ending is surprising and this is a good thing.
- Great premise for the story will a good villainess. But the villainess has no substance and character development.
- Beautiful cinematography : the "noir" atmosphere is eye-candy. Sometimes it make the characters even more beautiful.
- I also liked the lighting is this drama. Sometimes it was just amazing.
- DGZ is good at fighting.

Cons :
- The chemistry is ok but not top notch in my opinion.
- FL was annoying to me because she was foolish in my views. I mean, If you had to beging again with the aim of avoiding being killed. Would you trust the same people you did before? And FL was strong for a moment and then she was weak a minute later.
- Low pacing because of how the episodes are built.
- Some clichés and tropes.
- The ending. As usual you have to decypher the ending.

Overall :
I recommend this drama if you are fan of the cast and you have time to spend for an easy-watch.
You are ready to not question the accuracy of the business talk. Then this drama is for you.

If not, you migh feel bored by the slow pacing and the 2 or 3 scenes/ setting episodes.
I am sorry because I like Dai Gao Zheng and He Hua a lot, and I wish their next project is better crafted.

Best Romantic Espionnage Action Thriller Drama

I approad this drama because I was intrigued by a prince being kidnapped. I Thought it was a romantic drama. In reality, there is a sprinkle of romance but in the end I fell in love with the power struggles and political ploys. So I really enjoyed the drama.

So what this drama is about:
On the first episode I clearly understood : this would not be a fluffy rom-com ( as I thought) but a mystery/ espionnage/ action drama. I could sens that, a deep dark secret organisation was behind all this story.
I was hooked. So, I gave the drama the time to develop the plot.

And OMG, the more the episodes aired, the more I was addicted.
I waited patiently every saturdays and sundays to watch the new episodes as they were airing.
It was a roller coaster ride of emotions as the story developed.
I was totally in love with this drama.

I heard that many people complained about the fact that the romance was almost unexisting.
I don't agree, actress behind the Female Lead ; Yong Ye Ji; said that the text might not be romantic but the actors behaviours on set are. Indeed, they are affectionnate.

But looking back at the way the story developed, personnaly, I liked that the story was more about the palace ploys than the romance.
Because, from my point of view, the suspens set by the schemes spiced up the romance and I was sometimes afraid for the Leads because of it.

So this is a great drama. One of my favourites.

And I dont even speak about the OST, which I am crazy in love with.
Especially the Suho's "love you more gradually ", "100 days of dreams" and of course " love is like the wind".
The later was my lullaby before sleeping for a long time (^__^)

Role Reversal Female assassin vs Weak Emperor full of angst... I love it.

The story : Trained since her childhood to assassinate the Tyrant Emperor, FL enters the palace to find out that he is in reality a puppet Emperor. What will she do?

First of all. This drama is a Role Reversal Gender drama.
So ML plays the usual FL's part : Warm and emotional, whereas FL plays the usual ML's part : Cold and aloof. So keep that in mind and don't expect FL to be a "little miss sunshine" like in most of the dramas. You'll be disappointed.


Pros :
- The Leads become more and more strong as the drama progresses.

-Great character development for the former Emperor and for the Empress. I was proud of them in the end.

-Push and pulls, slowburn romance. Between threat and attraction. Sometimes FL aiming her dagger at ML seemed more like a cat and mouse game between them than a real threat.

- Good acting

- Good directing and visuals.

-Costumes are meaningful thus beautiful in this drama. FL being a waiting maid in charge of dressing and undressing the Emperor.

-Script is ok.

-Loved the climax in the end but the ending was less impactful.



Cons:
- ML and FL stay pretty much the same in term of character development.

- Some parts might seem draggy halfway because of the psychological arc, wich is the main subject of the drama : the heroes are torn between loyalty and love. It did not disturb me personally.

- Angsty.

- Ending seems rushed.



Overall:
I really loved this drama. I was waiting for every episode to be released, as it aired. Seeing an assassin becoming a protector was the best for me. And I liked to see a FL who is always strong and sticks to her principals and values. She is not a Mary Sue who become dumb when she is in love.
It was also refreshing to watch a cold FL tackeling dire situations with that cute and sweet ML. For me it was a treat.

So, if you like unconventional romance in wich a strong FL spends her time dressing and undressing ML, while strategizing with him and fighting enemies. You might like this drama.
