This is gonna be angst after angst, but I wouldn't be quick to judge or take sides. My prediction for the upcoming eps (not spoilers)
HER POV: His love was not real and he chose to abandon her to not be implicated of her 'crime'. She found out she was pregnant and also she got 'immortal-hunted' (remember there were already rumors about her) and all the suffering started. Her son got sick and she begged the deities above but no one came to her rescue. The child dies and she also experienced a horrible mortal death. Imagine the resentment and hatred upon coming back to the Immortal realm and BJS acting like nothing happened.
HIS POV: HRY was being summoned to the Empyrean for punishment. He kept this a secret from her and instead made her believe the 10yr seal is the only punishment. He purposely said he'll leave and stay in NineRealms to simply 'reflect' so she won't look for him and feel guilty as he'll take her punishment instead. I'm guessing 'the old injuries' they refer to are not from the stab wounds but from the punishment he got from Empyrean.
I, too, have doubts... Did you see the episode 20 preview?? She's certainly doing something..
Yep, she's definitely in control of those events. I believe when he left her (years back), she was also 'Immortal-hunted' and perhaps lost their estate and couldn't protect herself anymore.
I rewatch that ep 15 scene where BJS took away HRY's power and I'm thinking how can he expect her to start over…
I agree, that was stupid of him saying those lines and making it seem like he abandoned her to save himself. On the other hand, to put logic into it, maybe he said it that way so that HRY will think that she was really taking all punishment given by Empyrean. She knows there will be punishment and it will be suspicious if she gets away unscathed, I'm sure she will not want BJS taking it for her. We will see in episodes to come, but I think he also went thru severe punishment while those 10yrs run in the mortal realm. I think another one of BJS's misgiving is that because he couldn't emphatize with humans, he doesn't understanding how much human suffering can occur in those 10yrs. For an immortal 10yrs is just a blink. He left her in a wealthy estate so he probably thought she'll be fine. But it was obvious now she was targeted after he left. Truly some messy misunderstandings on both ends.
After finally catching up, I would agree with the other theories. It seems HRY is pulling a Wandavision illusion in SongHe county. All the events are manifestation of her 10yr suffering when he left her in the mortal world. There are so many hints already. Plus given her temperament, she would personally have stepped up and used magic herself to prevent some of the tragedies that already occured if what is happening is real.
Yes, after catching up with the eps, this is what I think too. I still do think BJS was probably getting thunder whips or something during those 10yr, much like how Yehua did for Susu in TMOP. It was because of that thoughtless line BJS said, he made her think like he was just trying to absolve himself and act innocent. It did seem like he simply abandoned her. Well, I love angst so I'm looking forward to more eps.
Then this is good for the plot as it is logical. I think it was obvious (though unknown to Yue) that he was in Empyrean taking some heavy punishment for her. She probably hated him thinking he knew about her suffering (esp with their child) yet as usual dismissed it as mortal affairs.
Yes, because at this point I don't know what happened to her other than her powers got sealed. All I know is it not enough reason to kill him and wreak havoc. There should be more to this story hopefully.
Ep16 The plot is going so well . But then it became philosophical, which is fine, it's one of the few xianxia dramas that explores the complexities and moral dilemmas of mortals and immortals in a thoughtful way. HOWEVER, I was waiting for the big reveal of the reason of this feud. And I'm honestly disappointed. I hope there is more to it. I feel it's too much 'revenge' from Yue just for the 10yr lock up. And now they are trying to create this comedic mortal realm scenes again, it feels off. Crossing fingers there is more reveal of a logical reason why Yue went that far.
The romance aspect is really weak, but I so far like their individual journey on emphatizing with humanity.
I finally have my answer why I feel something is off with the ML during closeup. Aside from the sad puppy eye shape, he's got sanpaku eyes (the bottom white part of his eyes shows). Still handsome though.
The commitment! Lol they be acting amongst themselve even when BJS is not even watching.

It felt like there shld be more to that character also.
