For a drama I started randomly, I find myself hoping all eps to drop. Honest reasons why I'm hooked 👀: 1) HyungSik looks really fine here! 🔥 hahaha i thought his role in Happiness was his best, but he looks extra fine here with that long hair. 2) I love the angst, that look of longing and betrayal whenever ML and FL see each other. Unlike most viewers, I don't hate the FL at this point. I'm also fine with ML still pining for her as long as he doesn't become lame. But what would put me off is if she'd do stupid stuff to endanger ML. Hope she's a smart one who will help him. 3) First 2 eps are fast paced. I'm worried for the 16episode run though, but let's see.
is the chairman on ML's side or is he going to betray him too?
Chairman is also using him since he knows he's skilled and trustworthy, just so happens Chairman's not as bad as the others. No one is really on ML's side, only people whose interest aligns.
Finally caught up with ep2, it's really going well. However, I think it is not as dark as it initially hinted. There is no romance tag but I think ML and 'FL' would still end up together. There seem to be no other antagonist other than the ex-NIS director and Chairman's son-in-law. From the looks of it, the FL's husband is also kinda innocent weakling and will probably end up being an ally. I wouldn't even be surprised if suddenly plot suggests FL and husband don't sleep together. As mentioned, it doesn't seem that dark, it's more like a battle of wits and action series.
I'm guessing the girl approached him intentionally but also ended up loving him for real. It's so messy, but I hope he doesn't get weak because of the girl. Do that revenge properly!
As someone who's very picky with dramas, I really like this one. Not with the same intensity as I've liked L&P, but this one is actually also good. I guess I gravitate toward the depressed girlies and mature stories. I like both the FL and ML, the story is slow and steady and no massive plot but the characters are what makes me stay. I symphatize with YiFan, life made her emotionally distant and do not know how to reciprocate/react when people treat her well. She questions why, and it's genuine, wonder if she's deserving of it. SangYan complements her, I like that he's affectionate but very subtle with it. He understands her well and knows her boundaries and that she will feel burdened if he push his feelings too much. All independent strong girlies need a SangYan 🥹 One that doesn't suffocate you with 'kindness and affection' but knows how to support you in subtle ways that don't make you feel weak or dependent.
Confession (and pls don't hate), I dropped Hidden Love because I found it cringey, which is my most common issue with modern cdramas. But this one is really good (done with ep1), I love the mature vibes and angst lol It reminded me of Lighter and Princess which I absolutely love. And that made me really excited how this story would unfold now. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't attached to HL and can experience SangYan's story without any comparison.
Shame on the director and writer for pushing this out. They completely threw out the 'magic' that season1 has. Had they been patient, they could have waited 2 more years and the manga would have been completed. This is a lame attempt of turning a good fun story into an over the top melodrama. It felt like they ruined a legacy. I don't know why, but with Barbie's passing, I feel extra upset about this S2.
Loved it! It didn't immediately hook me but around ep3 I was invested. It was fun and easy to watch. No romance, no complex plot but still managed to be emotional when needed. I think this has the potential to be like Taxi Driver, multiple seasons can definitely be made.
I'm on ep13 and I'm really liking it. The general feels reminds me of Ashes of Love. +it didn't take 10plus episodes to introduce the story, it was interesting enough from the get go +normally, I hate subplots. But here all the side stories so far are well written and emotional.
Just started this drama and I'm glad it didn't start too slow. Btw, is it just me or anyone else see DengLun on the ML? I suddenly miss him haha Too bad he didn't get paired with BaiLu before he 'retired'.
Honestly, none of the participants are interesting. I don't need them to be likeable but atleast be interesting. I cringed at many scenes lol I only watch now for the commentaries.
Plus the handsome face, I genuinely think he's a fun person to be around. He seems to get along pretty well with all of the RM casts, wish to see him more in variety.
ML's father is Duke of Jing, right? And Ming's evil sister-in-law is Duchess of Jing. Is it the same Jing dukedom? I thought Duke of Jing was married to ML's mother?
Boat captain is definitely on Frontman's side. Though I guess that's an indicator he still cares for his brother. It was the same captain who saved JunHo after getting shot, and most likely was ordered to 'help' JunHo search for the island but basically only drive him in circles in the ocean for 2yrs.

Can't believe they waster big name actors on this one.

It's time for a remake 💚
