Title Eat Run Love
Just saw the trailer and loving the vibes. I like that it doesn't give that cringey feels like majority of modern Cdramas.

Lighter & Princess really set the bar high, I'm a bit scared for the FL haha

So excited for this to air.
On Sweet Home Season 3 Jul 21, 2024
honestly disappointing. it felt like the writer didn't know what to do with the story after season1.
season2&3 are a whole lot of pointless storylines.
I carried on with the episodes thinking there will be a payoff towards the end, but it continued to be a let down. it was a mess.

-too many pointless characters. I did care for the Crow Platoon but were the other characters necessary. Like Father Peter and that girl, so much nonsense. Too many other pointless things and characters I just won't enumerate.

-MH1 was an ick. his character was not consistent, memory loss or not. would have been better if they just made it into a new character instead of I-Kyung's husband.

-Monster child plot is also so lame.

- The neohuman idea was kinda good but I think not executed well.

- too maaaany plotholes.

The lack of real plot and goal wasted the potential that season1 established.

it felt like they lacked creativity this season with the monsters. Why do you have a bunch that look like Decepticons? Season 1 have better monsters.
On Lighter & Princess Jul 3, 2024
loving my rewatch. I've been seeing details I missed the first time.
and yes, I get how some dislike LiXun, he really has a bad social personality in the beginning haha

I need answers to:when do they go back to the present?at what episode does it actually get better?how many break…
I'd say around ep7 or 8 it gets interesting. And as to jump to the present iirc it's around 20+ episode.
On Lighter & Princess Jul 2, 2024
one of my all time favorites. I'm rewatching it again from ep1 today with the Netflix version (better subs).
It still holds true that I haven't found a new drama that made me feel as hooked as when this was airing , and that was 2 yrs ago!! says a lot about how good this show was.

the only people who don't like it are :
a)those who are curious about the 'hype' around this show and came with very high and judgy expectations that nitpicks everything. Or those who can't accept the high rating and downvotes aggressively.

b)those who interpreted it differently and finds the ML toxic. I can write an essay to dispute this lol but that's just how we all have differrent preference and interpretation of a character

c)those who judge it too early. I myself admit that ep1 got me curious but early episodes of their college life felt like 1000other teen romance, I was only half watching it then. I promise you it gets better! but if you don't feel it/the spark till ep7 or 8, it's probably not for you. For me, the adult arc was the better portion. definitely not your fluffy romance.

d)those who are not ready for a rollercoaster of emotion. there are ongoing arcs and struggle in this story and it not the normal feel good slice of life. if not in the mood for this, I can get how you will find this draining.

to me this is still one of the best modern Cdrama. Well written characters, a clear story line, no over the top comedy, matured dialogue, natural progression of a relationship . And specially no cringe at all, which one of my issue with most modern cdramas

Kinda hate Deng Lun for letting greed destroy his own career.
I read into this issue and I'm not sure how reliable the sources are but here was the take.
The unpaid taxes was only a small portion, it was said that it was his accountant who made the mistake. I'm not saying DengLun is free from fault, but it does kinda make sense, if you're paying huge amount already, why try to save on a small amount and risk getting blacklisted.
But as we know, Chinese government is very unforgiving but it's not like it's impossible. I was kinda hoping Denglun will bounce back, other than the tax case he has a pretty good image. But it seemed he made no effort to go back and just simply retired.
Makes me also wonder if there is more to this than just the tax evasion.

btw, I wonder how Dylan feels. I've always put Dylan, WuLei and FeiYu in the same bracket. Both WuLei and FeiYu were now paired with ReBa, and it's funny because it's Dylan who has the biggest crush on ReBa haha

also curious now if there will be kiss scenes in this one. IIRC, Reba feels uncomfortable with intimate scenes with the age gap.
On Love beyond the Grave Jun 25, 2024
I gasp when I saw this one is official. My Chen FeiYu is back, I've only seen him in Lighter & Princess and I think he's very natural and talented. He didn't deserve all the hate and scandal thrown at him.
And Reba has always been one of my favorites.

But I'm telling you, I'm scared.. because all of the dramas that were hyped and I was excited for the pairing these past year had been a disappointment.

Not even good actors can save an awful script. Please please please let this be a good story. 🙏🏻

Agree. I also don't think it's just summoning like a wish. I believe it's either his consciousness or he was physically transported to alternate dimension of a specific time and space (much like how his dad see the gray version), only difference is he's able to freely choose what he can 'grab' with him back to the present. This is more believable explanation on how a 4year old is able to manifest in the burning building.

ohh right.. GW was older originally. I confused myself. thanks for the explanation.

I think they got further in age. :)
DH aged 5 more years whereas GW did not. and iirc, DH was already older to begin with.

No, his son summoned him at the moment just before the explosion. He was never stuck in the past or dad. The people…
I think she didn't need to. Nuri already knows she's talking about GwiJu from 18 years ago. And 18 years ago, the fire incident was the only time his parents were in contact. :)

if we go by that theory and then how did he summon he get his ball back from yesterday like i doubt he had a pic…
I love scifi and time travel plots when done right.haha
let me add my thoughts on how I believe Nuri's power work.
Yeah, I think he's pretty OP, he can scan space and time and 'move objects' around. To put some parameters into his power, he probably needs something like an anchor on whose memories to 'browse thru'. And in this case it was his Mom, and he knows she's talking about his Dad. Luckily, 18 years ago, during the fire, that was the only point of contact between GwiJu and DaHae. So even as a 4 year old he knows in which moment to grab his Dad from.
Now I don't know whether he physically transports. My imagination says it's like with his Dads case (like how gray everything was that he cannot touch anything), almost like he creates an alternate dimension. That's what probably kept him safe from the fire, I'm thinking he simply moved his Dad to that dimension, held his hand and then brought him to the present.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
i love how we see gwi ju smiling at dae he in ep 11 from the future, further confirmation that he is alive and…
yes.. we can't let the audience think he's a ghost haha
but imagine his confusion that he blipped to 5 years in the future.

Does he even have free will?? His actions did not strike me as something that was done from his own free will.…
The time travel rules for this drama is they do not create alternate timelines. It is one line but with loops. I think your thoughts about their free will is similar to what DongHee said, their actions are being influenced by hints about their future that inadvertently it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I likened it to predestination, the past, present and future are already set regardless of what action one takes. So it's true, it might seem just an illusion of choice.

And with Nuri, there were heavy hints in the script. I think you can rewatch the scene were they were emphasizing the missing ball. Dahae said it was missing and she asked him where he found it, and he keeps talking about yesterdays. It's also a paradox. He took it from the past because it was missing, and it was missing in the past because his future self took it.
But yeah, this exactly fits on how Gwiju was saved.

I really wish this had more focus on the family rather than the main couple.
I think Bok Family was explored pretty well. The only thing that I feel missing is the backstory for the Scammer Fam, we only saw DaHae's story and knew almost nothing from the other members (I'm curious about Uncle's past). Although, it might be deliberate that they skipped this to keep audience curious whether they are truly 'bad' or not.
On The Atypical Family Jun 10, 2024
I'm trying to make sense of the ending. But from my understanding Bok-Nuri's power is to be able to move object thru space and time (like an upgraded version of his Dad's power). For example with the ball, he took it from the past (like 2 days ago) so the previous day it was missing. Same thing happened to his Dad, he used his Mom as an anchor to go to 18 years ago and grabbed his Dad to present. So the gap in between Gwi Ju was declared missing, basically everyone aged 5 years except him. It was predestined to have him delivered to the future, otherwise he would have been crushed by the wall or burnt in the explosion.. Brilliant writing I may say.

That's one dangerous power for a kid to have. If anything goes missing from now on, it's most likely future Nuri took it with him.lol
