I am hoping and wanting it is B like you said. It would be too weird for her to hook up with a doppelganger of…
I really do believe the Director intended it to be the Theory B. I rewatched the ending scene a couple of times and it is the only thing that makes sense given the reaction they portrayed.
The rating is dropping because of that ending. Here is my idea on what happened, it fits into the whole craziness of the story. Director, please feel free to use it for season 2. haha
That is not a doppelganger, that is TianYi himself, that lighter is an obvious sign. After TianYi was badly injured, he went into a coma for several months. This coincides with all the political war events , so TingYao together with General Liu has to really step up and take charge. Different scenarios could have taken place : A : During the commotion, Tianyi woke up with amnesia. He wandered and got lost and somehow met people who gave him a new identity. This doesn't fit the reaction on the last episode tho.
or B, which is the more plausible event,
B. I think he is suffering on some form of brain damage if not a full blown amnesia. If you'll observe from the reaction of General Liu, he's not surprised that TianYi is there and acting all different. Meaning he's used to his presence and being like 'that'. Probably just surprised he's today dressed up as a soldier. As for TingYao's reaction, it's more like when a guardian is playing along with a 'special child'. Notice she called him TianYi first (it doesn't seem like it's the first time she'd seen him after years), and when he acted all awkward and introduced himself as another person, TingYao just gave a sad smile like saying 'here we go again'. And when she picked up that lighter and handed it to him, it is not the reaction of seeing a doppelganger, but it's a reaction of sadness on what TianYi has become and hoping he'll be back to his old self. And General Liu, looking away as if he cannot bear seeing his previous boss like that.
So yes, theory B. TianYi's been with them all along but he is not well/not himself/became slightly retarded. The more I think about it and analyse their reaction on that scene, the more I am convinced this is the real ending.
Good thing this is only a mini drama and I was only sad for about 2.5 seconds.haha Let's just say we enjoyed the abs and move along. This still did well for a low budget and short production. They probably didn't expect the hype, otherwise they would have written it a bit differently.
I think Dylan really looks best with modern hairstyle and his long DFQC hair. Without any volume, with his small face and defined brows, he looks like an angry emoji. Still handsome tho.
it is implied..but we don't know yet for sure, hope they clarify it in the next episodes. I'm still bummed about…
I mean that's the point of trying to provoke his uncle. There is still a bit of hope that he lied. Luckily this is a mini series for me, I'd be very very upset if this is a regular drama and I invested that much time and it went into this direction haha

I hope so too. Because even lakorns don't go this far, usually the 'questionable scenes' is with the ML, FL is never compromised by another. Well, let see....
Just sharing my thought..Dai gaozheng really got FULL PACKAGE here... good physical appearance and also good acting..…
Yes. He's of course not in the same tier as these other actors who has more experience but he can definitely act. I'm saying this as someone who will also drop a drama very quickly if the acting is bad, regardless if the actors are hot or you show abs each episode haha Showing too much skin without acting skills to back it up actually goes against an actor, it makes them look cheap in my eyes. Luckily, DGZ does can act. Director does know how to capitalise on his attractiveness, but thankfully it is not the only selling point of this mini drama.
Agree with the last one!Honestly, I dont care for plot ๐๐ Chinese dramas mess it up anyway even when they…
hahahahah I get what you mean..but you guys, give them credit for the acting and story too. This way we can get Dai Gao Zheng a better role and drama in the future.
Can't wrap my head how this managed to get this much views and a favorable rating. This was the reason I avoided modern cdramas for so long, it was a cringe fest. I'd be embarrassed if I was one of the actors, but I did went thru with finishing it.
omg im so sorry this was ur first cdrama๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ id cry if this had been my first one ๐ if u want any recs…
hahahaha I laughed at this comment. I understand the feeling. I only ever watch historical and xianxia cdrama, the first time I ever tried a modern setting was this one. The cringe was really strong and I had avoided modern day dramas after this. It is only just recently that I tried modern cdramas again and found good one. I feel bad for anyone whose first cdrama is this. :(
Things I imagined they could have done if this was a full length series :
-we get more episode of them being maid and master, with the mini series we almost couldn't tell the passage of time, but it seems they did stay in that set up for quite some time. You know, so the title makes sense
-gradually see more of ML side, I imagined first couple of episodes he would get hated and viewers would say nephew is better until we see things unfold. Imagine like in Scarlet Heart where viewers switched from Wang Wook to Wang So haha. This would be a challenge though since the abs have such strong power to attract a fan club. lol
- add scenes/reasons why ML fell for FL. Currently although their chemistry is great, it just doesn't make much sense how ML fell for FL, the whole childhood moments is sweet and all, but doesn't really fit ML's character.
-add more dimension to the nephew, like prolong the mystery of audience not knowing who the culprit is, give us a period where we are actually fooled that the nephew is a good guy and the better choice
-more scenes with FL coming into terms with her feelings, the confusion of falling for your enemy. I know many viewers calls her stupid now, but if you really think from her pov and we get more episodes to dive into it, her actions can be understandable.
-basically add more depth to secondary characters, like the half sister and the grandmother. do not make them cartoonishly evil.
