really? I mean I understand what happened before with the trio(Love Like the Galaxy, Love Between Fairy & Devil, and Immortal Samsara), the fans were nuts. But those are top billed dramas with big names and big fanbase.
Why does L&P get hate? The actors are relatively new. I know YangMi and BaiJingting also have airing shows, but I don't see this being competed against those shows.

Lighter and Princess, Love Between Fairy and Devil, and Love Like the Galaxy are definitely the best released series this year for me.

Li Xun is climbing on to my top favorite MLs. I must really have a type as I figured my favorite MLs share certain characteristics, this year I have added LiXun, DFQC and LingBuYi in that list haha.
LiXun and DFQC definitely share some traits :
1) I love the anti-hero type, they usually have attitude problems, mean to everyone except the FL
2) they are OP, extremely capable
3) they gradually fell hard, then HARDER
4) they do not fawn over the FL, no cringey lines or corny gestures, but it's the little things ( pretends to be annoyed with FL but loves being around her, the silent gaze, the hidden smiles etc) and then where it matters they go all out to make FL happy/or protect her.
5) they have goals of their own, which usually goes in conflict with their relationship with FL. I'm excited to see how this will play out in Lighter and Princess.

started this with no expectation as I didn't even know any of the actors, I was just bored one day and clicked on episode 1.
I have always been hesitant with modern Cdramas, it's very rare to find a good one, either they are super cringey or they are too boring.
Saw some clips with Li Xun with yellow hair and although he looks really handsome, I didn't get my hopes up as this set up is giving teeny cringe high school romance.lol
But god I was so wrong! haha
I like the angst in the first episode, it's very intriguing how they all ended up in that state.
The flashback is also well done, it is in no way cringey, neither it is boring even though I don't know anything about coding.
I like how steady the flow is, how natural their relationship developed, and how all characters are flawed in their own way.
I don't know how long I can hold back curiosity before I cave in and click on spoilers to see why he ended in prison haha
This is the disadvantage of starting a drama that is still being aired, you need patience in waiting for new episodes.

I agree with you. I enjoyed Long Ballad and I love both Wu Lei and Reba, but the romantic spark is not there. Well the romance is not the center of the story in there so it did work out in the end even without the spark. I see them more as siblings or comrades. For some reason I can feel that Reba is not comfortable with the age difference, also evident with the lack of skinship. They are chill and fun around each other, but really just lacking the romantic chemistry.

out of all the cancelled celebrities, I have a strong feeling DengLun can make a come back. He's just laying low these days. Let's wait patiently, the time will come for the release

I think I watched it on YT, I forgot the title, but it is one of the bts. Ryu JunYeol was told he's super skinny and doesn't really have the usual face of an ML. And then with Bogum, he was actually too attractive when the character Taek is not supposed to be, so they really played down his looks in the drama. It was an interesting insight with the casting 😅

Most modern Cdramas are cringey (and I imagined being embarrased being part of if I were an actress haha), but this one I did enjoy because from the beginning I knew it is gonna be an 'over the top' drama and I started it with an open mind. It was not a pretentious drama, but it truly embraced and lived through it's cliche-ness.haha

I see a lot of comments about PMY's face, I think when somebody starts with the surgeries, filler, botox etc, you cannot just simply stop as you will need continuous maintenance. She's still pretty but she looks more matured because her face is more 'hollow' nowadays.

On the other hand, with GKP, I cannot tell if he is buff or he gained weight. I remember from his Reply 1988 audition, the casting director brutally told him that he looks like an ahjussi and needs to lose weight. He doesn't naturally have a defined jawline hence making him look chubby and older. He's still attractive to me, but let's be honest, most viewers here have already chosen to be on Team secondML since day1.haha

I didn't plan to watch it since the plot is sounding like the regular cliche, but being bored today, I gave it a try.
I must say, I am pleasantly surprised, I love the unique story and the mystery around ML.
However, I think I can already guess what ML does for work, I hope it doesn't get boring when the mystery is gone.

Btw, the ML's character reminded me of the ML from Because This is My First Life, and after checking the Director's work, no wonder they have some similarities as it is indeed the same Director.

Yes, exactly! This was also one of my clues, just forgot to write it. If the subs are right, there is something very particular with that line. Plus, the way she assumed the title Mrs. Fang and the authority in his household and soldiers is more plausible if TianYi is there (regardless that he is not always himself)
