You all know I'm watching but IDK what it's about & just found out about it.

I need clarification. You want a bl w/ a similar storyline. Or just a rom-com bl. Are you looking for what particular country. Does it have to be Thai bl or are you looking for world wide or only East Asia or including South East Asia.
I kind of hate when people put out such a vague question. I watch bls from ALL over the world as far as Brazil & Germany...so I need clarity.

This is the problem I have w/ people who don't understand cultural & generational nuances. You can't call something toxic, if you don't understand it.
If you don't understand it. You don't know Thailand, or you're Thai & don't understand historical generational relationships & familial piety - you can't speak on anything.
I'm so happy my parents raised me culturally open-minded or I'd up saying some toxic stuff.

Just in response to no.1: My response was simply to say his expressions were creepy - hence the Anabelle reference. I never thought or said Hia Lian was afraid of them.
I feel Hia Lian NEVER called NK for being fake until the end. He allowed NK to live his life & waited for NK to trust him enough to share his secrets. It's only in ep.12 or 11. I think it's 12 that HL is putting sharing w/ NK the different faces he's seen NK wear that NK was put on blast. He says to NK this is how you look when you're angry or happy. However, he knows if it's ever really him.
This is when WE as the viewer recognize, of course from my perspective, see the Anabelle connection to the ROLES NK plays in all aspects of his many lives w/ all the characters.

That's basically it. I feel like people need to watch My Little Bride. Same concept. Furthermore, I don't know a single BL I should be taking seriously.

I think the show gave a good explanation particularly at the last episode. It's not really something that's supposed to be directly explained it's supposed to be built throughout the story or seen. That's what characterization is. I gave an explanation to the question.

Actually, it's not. That was actually one of the best parts of the writing. It's unfortunate you don't understand characterization.

Okay so an Anabelle doll is a ghost doll that kills people. It plays two meanings here or a double entendre:
1. It's the masks NuKeau puts on that can be a bit scary. Pay attention to when NK smiles or grins to placate Hia Lian when asked a question. He always says, "Yes..." but then puts on a weird smile that's a bit disturbing.
The Anabelle doll gives off weird creepy/cringy smiles before killing people. Now I think people need to read wiki & watch the movies. The Anabelle doll is based on a true story & at a museum.
All this becomes VERY clear b/c Hia Lian calls him out on it I think in the final ep.

2. It touches on the duality of the character. Dolls in general are sweet, cute, & "pretty". However, on the flipside Anabell is evil. In the case of NK he gives off this well-mannered & well-raised kid who's highly educated & CUTE. While actually, he drinks, he goes clubbing, he curses, sneaky, rebellious, selfish, and conniving.

This is what they're trying to show by the Anabelle doll. I think they actually did a good job. I think I know why you might be lost on it if you're not a horror fan it might be lost to you. Thailand loves horror - all of the most famous horror films like The Grudge comes from them - so they know the concepts. If they didn't know Anabelle, they went & watched it then they understood.

Yes it is. Why wouldn't the story be a happy ending. It's actually a decent story. I don't understand the shit reviews. I mean if we're talking about Toxicity in bl - that's EVERY bl in existence.

Yes. Those bl lakorn recommendations actually don't compare to this one as far as storyline. They're just other bls.
When doing a recommendation, you add similar stories be it hetero or another bl. These are just bls for the sake of bls.
