Yeah, it's been long since i found a drama with such slow burn into it. Lately, most dramas are like love at first…
"Conversations are always on eye level"- YES! Finally, thanks to you, I've realised what makes this couple bring tears to my eyes. Most drama couples have an imbalanced power dynamic, so one is always talking up to/down to the other. Here, they look each other in the eye and clearly articulate what they think and feel.
A masterclass in character development. What stands out most is the organic progression of the main relationship;…
Yes, the pacing is very intentional. Nothing feels rushed, and there's a certainty & confidence that the writers and director seem to have. Clearly it has worked- we're all hooked!
The best part of the drama is how they mix up all my favourite genres together in a really balanced way! I am…
I'm so happy to see that someone else is enjoying the balcony scenes as much as I am!! It's so cozy and cute. The only other drama I enjoyed for this reason was The First Frost, where the ML and FL have scenes where they secretly gaze at each other from their balconies.
It's good to see two leads being mature and communicating with each other about things that might cause problems…
Yes, and I love how calmly they discuss it. The scene in the game world where ZY clarifies that he doesn't distrust HX, while looking deep into her eyes to make sure she gets his meaning...I literally melted in my seat. They both know how to listen to each other.
Another day of smiling at my screen like an idiot as I watch Hu Xiu and Zhi Yu get closer lmaoo I love how they actually bother having conversations and straightening out any misunderstandings. Zhi Yu is so considerate & respectful, while also being reserved. He's the perfect cold/distant male lead, without needing to be rude & rough. And Hu Xiu is just such a lovely person, so full of warmth and care. They make the cutest pairing!
I don’t think Zhao’s (FL’s best friend) husband is gonna cheat on her, but there’s a potential that they…
Absolutely. I was quite surprised that he didn't step in and smack the living daylights out of Qian. Clearly his work is more important to him than his own wife. I too think that sheer exhaustion might be the nail in the coffin for her.
After every interaction the FL has with the 2ML the writing double downs on how absolutely horrible he is. Every…
Right, the show isn't even trying to hide the fact that he's evil and up to no good. You can't even call him a "red flag" lead, because he's straight up the antagonist so far -_-
I know we are only 8 eps in. I know the angst & potential misunderstanding will come. But I’m so enchanted…
Me too. I feel a personal attachment to this drama already, and that doesn't happen very often. Seeing how mature and grounded they seem to be right now, hopefully they will be able to resolve any future misunderstandings quickly and cleanly.
can we talk about how Zhi Yu is always checking up on Hu Xiu by observing her face and body language? The way he keeps looking at her to figure out her mood and whether she's okay is honestly such a cute & green flag trait of his <3
I adore everything about this drama, especially the main leads. They bicker and tease but underlying it all is a retrospective quietness...I like how they can have mature and thoughtful conversations, about dreams, failures, strengths and shortcomings. Nothing superficial about them! The soothing OST definitely enhances the mood. Watching this feels like drinking a comforting hot cocoa.
I personally like it a lot, but it is definitely not a typical kdrama. From how the usual ratings and reviews…
Okay, got it. Do you see them together as a couple at the end of the show? A superficial question, but I'm afraid I need that to make my watching the show worth the time.
Such an addictive show!! The pilot episode instantly draws you in, and the chemistry between CXX and LYX is palpable from the start. They're doing such a good job; I really like the way both of them have calm, reserved personalities, but get all worked up when they try to outsmart the other. Their little smirks and glares have me giggling and kicking my feet!
I want to watch this, but it seems too convoluted for my taste...is it worth watching? With such a winding road to navigate, the emotional payoff at the end should be good :')
I've been rewinding too many of CXX's scenes!
