Is anyone watching this drama up to date without having read the novel? I’m curious as to what you all think…
Not read the novel yet and I disagree with the haters.... they deliberately avoid discussing the fact that he treated her like his sister when she was in school... can we also agree that he felt comfortable with the Sang family with the son being his best friend, the parents helping DJX during his time of dire need and the sister treating him better than she did her own brother (I also think she treated him well in the earlier days because of how well he treated her in comparison to how her own brother treated her- however loving the relationship with her brother might be, and that bloomed into a first love much later, is what I feel).
Having fended for himself ever since THE incident and his mother's death, I feel as if he forgot the feeling of being cared for and having someone by his side seemed impossible with JY's interference. So when she defended and cared for him, he may have started to realize *firstly* that she has grown up, as she says she has and *secondly* somebody wants him to be happy and healthy... with that must have come the realization that she isn't really his sister and so this may not be a familial feeling but more of a romantic one. He does hesitate with regard to his family situation and how she may feel about their age gap that she jokes about but as we know, he takes it seriously...
This is how I see his mental reasoning and analysis of their developing relations and blooming love 🩵
"You're pretty good at framing people." Hahaha, he feels as if he's being framed just because he now knows she's talking about him... even though Qin Fei agrees! 🥰😆🤭
I’ll be needing a heavy dose of a dystopian drama like Sweet Home or else of a mystery/thriller genre to get over the hangover of this drama… this pair’s chemistry is going to ruin me for others’. 🤌🏼
SZ is really an interesting character, I agree! There are all these subtle things in her time at uni that really…
Exactly! Why make someone feel uncomfortable just because they’d prefer to go home and “it’s your birthday”… let introverts be, we are socially interacting more than our quota as it is 😆
Oh..so can you guys recommend me some chinese teenage dramas like mostly college life n all...i have watched plenty..but…
Lighter & Princess is so so so good! Incredible casting and beautiful chemistry! Wait My Youth & A Little Thing Called First Love are also really sweet :)
his expressions today were making me realise we humans have emotions that can be expressed like that
I agree, watched a few of her shows and every single time she and the ML have had amazing chemistry! Houlang for instance, I just finished it before HL started and the chemistry between the leads was so cute, funny and subtle. Really like ZLS and her work!
What are the odds??? On their first “date” she drank milk tea and was allergic to it 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣
I wonder if he'll be reminded of that milk bottle he gave her in episode 1... or it may have been just a minor detail then that he may not have registered ... 🤷🏻♀️

Absolutely! I watched him earlier in Our Secret and was a fan of his emoting skills through his eyes... his tearing-up scenes always get me! He seems to have grown so much through this drama, and his emoting skills have reached new heights... as you said, he put his whole face to good use... he's already handsome and his expressions and emoting skills make him rightfully one of the sought-after actors of today!
last year when i was watching lighter & princess ongoing , youku released 30-36(probably) in advance for huge…
Oh yes, I remember! Hoping for the same here… Though I am not so sure if they’ll release fasttrack episodes for a short series like HL, seeing that L&P was 36 episodes and HL is only 25 🤷🏻♀️ … more hype build and promotion for yuoku.
