Well, for most of the drama, she would get bullied and would barely stand up for herself, the male lead always helped her but she was barely grateful, she was incredibly stupid… But I think that the worst is how, at some point of the drama, despite having long been in a relationship with the male lead, she was actually tricked by the villain to believe that the male lead had actually killed her whole family, straight believing him without barely checking, not trusting the man she loved at all, not even asking the male lead his version and deciding straight to leave him and get her revenge. But she barely apologized when she realized her mistake after having made the male lead suffer so much

In my opinion, XCS and XiaoMei are both heroes in their own ways And what’s amazing is that they’re everyday’s life heroes : they’re not like superheroes or war soldiers, just incredibly good people who make this difficult world a better place to live with their kindness and courage
HHL was so embarrassing in this episode… 20 years ago she was trying to bring him back to the past where she was stuck and 20 years later, she still lives in the past… YGH could not even look at her, and Xiaomei was actually trying to save her face by trying to convince her daughter that these skating shoes were good… I mean, when the woman from whom you’re pining for her husband is trying to save you some embarrassment, then damn, you have it bad… And I mean, what was even the point ? Are you trying to tell the kid your past love story with her dad and to convince her to pick you up as a stepmom over her real mom ? I mean, not only this is a dumb gift (come on, when offering a birthday gift, you’re supposed to pick a gift that the receiver would enjoy ; otherwise, why would I stress so much when picking up gifts) but more important : this is HUGELY inappropriate (you don’t offer your ex’s kid that you never met a gift that represents your past love story with her dad, especially with mommy and wife is right next to you both, COME ON!) And final point : Xiao Mei and XCS’s daughter is so cute ! And I love the fact that she actually kinda looks like her parents, especially her mom, in her appearance and mannerisms

I think HHL is to blame for having used YeGuoHua even though she didn’t really love him But I also think YGH is to blame for his current unhappy marriage Because basically, he KNEW There were red flags everywhere : He knew from the beginning that if XCS hadn’t lost his legs, she would never have gone to him, that she had chosen him for her benefit (because he was nice asset in her life resume). He knew he was her second choice, her consolation prize, that she didn’t really love him. From the moment they saw XCS walking again and in a relationship with Xiaomei, he knew she had started regretting. He knew she was trying to get XCS back when they were on the skating rink. And he knew that she had announced her wedding with him, not because she wanted to marry him, but because she wanted to provoke XCS. He knew *everything* and he knew *all along* : he always knew she never loved him. That she wasn’t happy with him. And honestly, I don’t think he ever really was happy with her, due to all the bitterness and jealousy. But he went on anyway. He dated her, married her, knowing she was pining for his once best friend, all while not being happy. He made his choice. It was clearly going further and further into misery but he went right ahead into it anyway. He could have left, could have stopped : could have said « sorry Hong Ling, I can’t do this anymore ; I can’t stay with you knowing I’m just a second choice to you ». But he didn’t take that decision that would have saved him. He kept making himself more and more miserable I honestly wonder if this was really about loving HHL : I mean, how could he love her when he doesn’t even really know her, never realized her personality was more than this beautiful Cinderella they wanted to protect. But I feel like to him, this was about defeating XCS ; this was all about trying to prove that he could beat this best friend who made him feel such a huge inferiority complex, and proving his own value by getting the girl (which is pretty pathetic) And now he’s miserable due to he and HHL’s bad choices

I Hope you’re right What he did was bad but just like I said to my dad when he asked me bedtime stories about Chinese entertainment (yes, i’m joking : he just wanted to stay awake while driving), if every person who cheated on a partner were to be fired, then half of the world would be unemployed ! And I don’t think a private matter should intervene on professional life (And even my dad could guess that Zhang Tian Ai had obviously set him up : a recorder doesn’t start working on its own ! She had planned to harm him and ruin his career ! In my opinion, she seems much more toxic than him !)
