I like it so far. And i always waiting for what papa Fan do to his 2nd son.. so hilarious
Haha, you noticed it too ? Last episode was hilarious, how he would give a sign of the hand to order his son to turn around so that the would kick him ; and how he started crying in despair and was like « WITH SUCH A DUMB SON, MIGHT AS WELL KILL ME NOW ! » 😂😂😂
I hope Princess Lian doesn't enter the story again in the future. Leaving aside her character is absolutely boring…
I agree It’s even more annoying because the FL had totally tried to warn her and she just decided to go for it anyway, and yet she was willing to let FL pay the price for HER mistake even though she risked her life to help her. And what’s worse : she does that not long after telling « I love you like a sister » ! I honestly don’t think she’d have let her real sister rot in jail and await for execution. But she finds herself plenty of excuses to justify her weakness and cowardice, pretending it’s for her people and their survival
I’m starting to think the Yebei people, including the eldest princess, really don’t deserve, Ye’s loyalty When she tries to warn them there’s something suspicious, they don’t listen When she gets caught because she tried to help them, she almost gets executed while their asses are saved and they rather stay still than go help her. It was the Princess’ fault that they had committed a mistake but Ye was the one paying it and they weren’t willing to help her. I can’t tell tell who disgusts me the most : the cowardish princess or the guy who kept bullying her in Yebei and still dares to say « we didn’t force her to help, she implicated herself ! » even though she’s about to die because she saved him and the others, despite the fact that they always shunned her
Actually i think he's not a bad person at all. He's someone that cared about people . But people keep misunderstanding…
That was my understanding too : both father and son had technically committed a crime against the emperor ; one by forging a royal decree and going beyond his limits and the other by disobeying what appeared to be a royal order, which questions his loyalty to the emperor (although he just wanted to save innocent lives). So one had to die so that the other would be saved 😢
The Fan minister is such a lukewarm antagonist. His scenes are skippable especially when he's in his household.
Personally I don’t skip his scenes : because half of his scenes are about kicking his dumass second son and the other half is about comparing his second son to his enemies and tell how great they are compared to him 😂
He’s not the « villain » : I think he’s kinda like Li Chengying in Goodbye My Princess, a villainous male…
Well, he’s obviously the male lead but he’s a king who ends up hurting plenty of people in his quest for power (he already reduced the Yebei citizens in slavery, and executed one of his loyal subjects). How should I say… he seems like a good emperor but he can be pretty merciless. I just can’t help but feel like he’s the kind who tends to be an Emperor before being a human being.

We’re already at 12th, and the leads aren’t close from being in love so there must be more, right ?
