Viki had a problem with line breaks. They showed up looking very weird on roku and stuff, which is why everyone had to delete all line breaks. Thats why you see sentences that stretch across the whole width of the screen. It was only recently resolved, but it'll take some time for everybody to adjust. Your direct assumption that non-paid volunteers make excuses and "rebel" just because they arent paid shows that you just want to pick a fight, at this point.

Viki was built on the idea of a community-based streaming site. It's not charity lol it was made to be interactive, allowing people who love languages to collaborate. All news articles will attribute a huge part of the site's success to that. It started out as a video sharing social media-like website. Its still evolving. Who knows? Someday, they'll grant your wish and get rid of the community altogether(im not being sarcastic here, they really are considering the possibility).

I dont get what you said about subtitle timing. People actually get paid for doing just that all day on other sites. It takes hours to do it.

If crediting them on the website(and not even on the mobile phone version) was enough, we wouldnt have to deal with the majority of viewers who still dont know that its a volunteer-based site, who insult them when subs dont come as soon as the drama does, and leave one star reviews when their language isnt available yet.

"Thank you for watching!" may seem unnecessary for some, but they write it only one time, at the end of the drama. Idk why that bothers you so much...
Adding credits is reasonable when theyve spent hours doing their jobs to bring subs. I doubt anyone even knows what a segmenter is

Did you know that Kissasian and the rest mostly steal subtitles from other legal streaming services or independent translators? If they steal from Viki, the team credit is removed.

I don't see what's wrong with posting a team credit... a huge number of people collaborate to bring subtitles to viewers. Why hide them? They adjust segments so viewers don't have to deal with flashing subs or segments too short to read the subtitle; they also translate and proofread subs to make them easy to read and error-free. They add translators' notes to explain situations/terms that get lost in translation. They have a volunteer-managed academy to train new segmenters. Lots of editors get unofficially trained by more experienced volunteers so the dramas have (mostly) standard subs.

no, the viki volunteers get the episodes at the same time the viewers get them. Most dramas nowadays come presubbed - the drama provider also provides subtitles. The volunteers just adjust, standardize terms and proofread.

The advantage is that people get English subs earlier. The disadvantage is that sometimes the subs are absolute trash(*evil death stare at MangoTV*) and viewers think it's the volunteers' job

hanging on because ML looks 10x more handsome compared to S1 but I don't think I can stand it any longer. At this point, I'm skipping through till they start dating because I KNOW their chemistry is fire. The plot itself is driving me insane.. tempted to leave but then Fang Leng walks onscreen and I'm all "Well heLLO, there! Did anyone tell you that you look absolutely, stunningly perfect today?!" *shameless heart eyes*

It's so silly I love it... sometimes I wonder if the writers are trolling us or are just plain bad LOL

The number of times ive screamed KISS AND MAKE UP ALREADY!!! at a drama when i know perfectly well id have the same reaction irl XDD

IKR! I just finished it but i think im going to watch it again... just the way he CARRIES himself - he WAS the Moon Supreme and you could just feel his strong presence.
His eyes told stories - anger, love, grief, intense disgust - he was just so perfect in this role!

I'll be closely following his shows from now on!

I agree with you about AOL and L&D ❤️ AOL was my first xianxia so i'll always love it. Maybe I should give ALP a try. Does it end satisfyingly? That's my only condition XD

I REALLY wanted to watch it for the all star cast

Thiugh my brain cannot comprehend anyone not liking Dylan's character here, ill agree to disagree with you.

However, i have to say its not like the normal xianxias. Its nothing like Immortal Samsara. Ive been suffering through IS and ive also watched AOL and L&D. I always thought AOL was the best xianxia ever but this one just replaced it.

Why i loved LBFD:
- DFQC: hes NOT the generic xianxia ML. Sure, hes cold, but Phoenix Xufeng, Emperor Ying Yuan and GOW in L&D were all subject to the rules of the heavenly realm, forced to obey. Ying Yuan, especially, just cant let go of the stupid rules and the equally stupid heavenly emperor.
DFQC, however, is the Devil king. After suffering through Samsara, it wss refreshing to see that an ML was actually the strongest one in the realms, and did just what he wanted. His growth was amazing to watch... i loved how they brought out the theme of letting go. Letting go of pride, revenge, prejudice, and grief.

FL: miraculously, the number of misunderstandings in this drama is minimal. You never see her stabbing him terribly in the back - i loved that she chose him over heaven even when their opinions didnt always agree. My eyes nearly fell out of my head and i went to check if the sun was rising from the west when she dodnt go completely ballistic when someone told her ML was responsible for her familys deaths. She was a good character.

You still might not want to watch, but its just ignorant and mean to say its like Immortal SADsara.
