Hwang In Youp playing Song Weilong's character in the K-remake of what is one of the best-made cdramas EVER is the dramaland crossover I never knew I needed
I fail to understand all the people calling ML a cold jerk here but maybe its just that I'm so used to the King of Tsunderes in It Started With a Kiss/Itazura Na Kiss/Playful Kiss lol (so many parts of the storyline are similar) I'm always so surprised at how much this guy emotes XDD Zhi Shu could never in a million years
Are we ever going to get a solid, good Republican era happy ending romance(other than Fall in Love 2021)? This wave of minidramas with the same garbage train wreck plot is so annoying because Republican era dramas have so much potential
This. This was just so GOOD, delivering completely, meeting every single expectation I held. It felt like 18 Again's child, what with Ryeoun's presence and me bawling my eyes out in happy and sad tears over all the overflowing family and found family love.
Choi Hyun Wook's acting reminded me a lot of Park Seo Joon in Fight For My Way(lots of similar expressions and line delivery). This commoner underdog type characters are always soooo well played.
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds/Love in the Moonlight managed to have a nice HE after all the blood, politics and violence...…
Well, 100DMP did let me down in some ways... i think i left k-historicals because of that one, too 😅 tried The Forbidden Marriage because i adore KYD but though it was enjoyable, it still didnt come close to Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. MDBC's Crown Prince is unserious but not stupid, up for pranks and escapades but also a good ruler, and active in both politics and action/fighting(he has a ninja bestie lol)
Hello Twinklers. This has nothing to do with the drama, but I was wondering if any of you had good recommendations…
The Player(the one with Krystal). They brought me to tears with the way their bond developed, and i am so glad they didnt awkwardly stick in romance. The hyungs grew to love their adoptive little sister to death and that was it. And what can i say, im a sucker for conman/heist dramas.
So, watched episode 1. Very bloody....The "blurred" censorship is, odd.....Worried to delve in too deep. I do…
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds/Love in the Moonlight managed to have a nice HE after all the blood, politics and violence... still haven't found a k-historical drama that's as good as that one in terms of balancing the romance, comedy, politics, angst, and action... combining seriousness and fun without being slapstick, and tying everything up so well. Park Bo Gum deserved that Best Actor award for that brilliant Crown Prince portrayal.
It all depends on the way they execute it. The actors and writers give fuel to this trope, and it just comes down…
As i said, its not the plot progression but the character development and relationship progression that attracts me to this genre. I havent seen all of Se Young's works, but i enjoyed her chaotic physical comedy in The Law cafe and The Forbidden Marriage(though TFM suffered plotwise). Seen In Hyuk in My Roommate is a Gumiho and Kiss Goblin, and though his character was meh in MRIAG, Kiss Goblin showed real potential.
I have to admit i dont know how great their chemistry might be in this one(LSY's chemi with LSG>>>>>Kim Young Dae)... Lets see what happens with this drama.
The shame sh!t all over again.Rich ML, who is a narcissist and has trouble expressing his emotions. How many fucking…
It all depends on the way they execute it. The actors and writers give fuel to this trope, and it just comes down to how good they are. Trouble expressing emotions = ML actor must be a genius at microexpressions, which are always fascinating to watch if the actor can pull it off well. Narcissist = ML must have enough charisma to make us root for him, and writers must work to make us like him gradually. The role relies more on actions than words/flowery dialogues and also has to feature character growth, so I think that brings out good performances - again, it all depends on the actors and writers.
Bae In Hyuk did a wonderful job on Kiss Goblin with the emotions part, so I'm looking forward to this one. Honorable mentions to Yoo Seung Ho(I'm Not a Robot), Joe Cheng(It Started With a Kiss S1-S2), Marcus Chang(Lost Romance), Yamada Ryosuke(The Third Finger Offered to the King) and Park Seo Joon(What's Wrong With Secretary Kim) who pulled off the trope in all its glory.
^this! and the decision to have 2nd bro fall in love w her was so so forced. It felt like from the beginning he…
You are so right, but i think the writer made it pretty clear and used it as a contrast throughout. The way he got the ick when she mentioned sleeping together as more than sleeping together, the way he reacts to situations in such a sibling way, even the way he "proposed" to her - the whole dynamic he had with her from day one screamed platonic. There was absolutely nothing romantic with the way she behaved with him, too.
In total contrast, she's been "aware" of LX since her little childhood crush days LOL. The way he wouldn't let her on his bed, the way she also stuck to him, got jealous over him, and later the absolutely STARK difference in reaction to their proposals was enough to see she always had a little romantic door open for LX.
Watched it because I'm starved for good Republican era dramas that DON'T tear my heart apart, and it was a pretty good one. ML is SO HOT in that uniform
He stole hearts in While You Were Sleeping. If Lee Jong Suk wasnt the one defending his position as ML with all the flare and confidence he's known for, I'd have had a terrible case of Second Lead Syndrome
Why on earth is the rating so low? Im only on Ep 17 but the drama has stayed so strong all this time... 2023 has been a disappointing year for dramas but this one has me squealing giggling and kicking the air over how adorable the main leads are 😭😭 I love all the roles Zhang Jing Yu picks and this one is no less than the others!
Choi Hyun Wook's acting reminded me a lot of Park Seo Joon in Fight For My Way(lots of similar expressions and line delivery). This commoner underdog type characters are always soooo well played.
