what episode does her 2nd relationship end? I don't like the male character at all.I dislike his appearance I…
I watched him for the first time this year in Legend of ShenLi and was kinda fond of his character but o lord after this drama it would be hard to watch it with the equally positive feelings 😅
I don't really hate FXW. In a way, Rose was also at fault. He was okay from the start until he met ZGD. It just…
Yup, he’s a perfect example of a covert narcissist. It’s rooted in an extremely low self esteem and this character was checking all of the boxes one after another.
Love bombing phase, gaslighting, manipulation, lies, deception, silent treatments, obsession, control, feeling like you know the only truth, lack of empathy. He’s all that. If not for ZGD he would find other reasons to make her suffocating. He was just a very convenient person to blame and give a reason for his pathological behavior.
The fact he didn’t want her to get an epidural during her giving birth was an ultimate proof he’s not mentally healthy and his feelings towards Rose are pretty much shallow. It’s more about possession and control, there is no love here. The only (fake) affection he gave her was at the very beginning, when he had to get her. As soon as they got married and she was pregnant his mask was off, because he didn’t need it anymore.

I think the fact they had a kid together was the only reason she was with him for so long but at the same time the most important reason why she left him in the end (what she admitted).

He wasn’t okay from the beginning, he stalked her, lied to her and manipulated her before he even knew ZGD exists. Meeting ZGD just added fuel to his toxic personality. The moment we met his mother I knew he’s also toxic. Please, let’s not victim blame her. She could’ve not getting in a relationship with him, I think that’s her biggest fault. It’s quite obvious she never really loved him romantically, there was no passion or chemistry. She was just depressed and lonely and he was there slowly taking advantage of her condition. Of not for the break up with ZGD which had a great impact on her emotional state, she would just ignore him the same way she did with that mentor from the first episodes.
Well, we have closed another chapter FXW is gone. And enter once again ZGD. We know he won't last long because…
Oh I’m in love with the new boyfriend ❤️ The moment he entered the birthday party with a brick as a gift I was like „yup, that’s the kind of man who will get along with Rose”. He’s so interesting and the way he immediately got interested in her, only by seeing her drawing and some short story.
After watching trailers I’m also confident they will have a great chemistry ❤️
Well, they do say almost dying can change people so I was willing to let it go (also, they're running out of episodes…
I don't think he almost died, he just had alcohol poisoning. As this type of person, I suppose that in realistic version he would just made himself a poor victim of this situation, blaming Rose for his own condition.
Leaving laptop behind wouldn't be that weird back then, those were quite heavy as I recall comparing to the ones we have now. Also, she went to Bejing to meet her family and friends just for a few days, why would she need to take additional baggage with her if not necessary? She had phone with her and could check her mail using someone else's laptop.
It's disgusting that he just opened it and went through her mails like that, without any concern took his phone and told those people she's pregnant in hospital, not able to take this job. Ew
Also, the most unrealistic part of the show so far is that a garbage person like FXW would just suddenly discover…
Yes! I was thinking exactly the same thing!
I guess they just did it like this to not drag this marriage arc for too long, it was already frustrating enough, it was time to move on to the next chapter of Rose’s life. I see no other good reason for it.
Because, you’re right, there is no way man like this would magically changed his mind in one night. In reality their divorce would be dragged for months or even years and it would be ugly af and kid would be affected. He even mentioned that „she will never see their kid again” and I believe he wouldn’t really give up without having the last word.
I started celebrating the divorce and end of this horrible arc but then the trailers of the next episodes reminded me what’s about to come and looks like we are going from the anger and frustration to pain and sadness 🥲
She literally made him a slave, both mentally and physically, there is no way she’s better than him in any way…
I agree, SYR is the best written character of this drama next to XFF, and Ji Shuran for me. I love Duke Su but he’s a bit simpler as a character here (unless they would show us more in the upcoming episodes what I would love to see).
I need to read the novel! I will definitely do so after this drama ends.

That’s an interesting analysis you’ve just shared and I’m curious even more how his character is going to unfold, especially after seeing the trailers for the next two episodes. You may have a point here! That would blow my mind, ngl, it’s not often for a character to fool me like that (and I love being surprised!).
Previously I thought he’s the worst character, after the recent episodes I switched to thinking differently of him and seeing Princess as the biggest villain.
But! I changed my mind once, I won’t hesitate to change it again when having more dots. Thank you for this lively discussion, it’s been really mind stimulating. Looking forward what’s to come after the next episodes, it’s a pleasure to me!
Love it when a drama is making us thinking more and analyzing stuff. That’s the best promotion it can get, forget about spending money on advertisements.

That’s something I think we are still assuming about his character here. I would like to see how exactly the relationship between him and A’Li started, if he reached out to her with the viciousness or maybe it was just natural. I think he really had feelings for her and killing her made him mentally broken.
Weren’t his mother and sister against this marriage? I can’t recall right now, but if it would be a part of a plan, they would probably be okay with it. And I think they treated her badly from the start.

Heartbreak is coming 💔
