Just finished Ashes of Love and was looking for any of his newer projects to watch since I absolutely fell in love with his portrayal of Phoenix. Sad to see what happened with him.
I was postponing to watch this one because of the cgi (yes, that’s shallow of me, I know 😅) but let me tell…
Finished and no doubts one of my all time favorite dramas. Ok, cgi sometimes just made me literally laugh by oh lord everything else was delivered at the highest level possible. Story, acting, message in last episodes. If you are hesitating to watch, stop, JUST WATCH IT
I was postponing to watch this one because of the cgi (yes, that’s shallow of me, I know 😅) but let me tell you, I am just 2 episodes in and I LOVE IT. This drama has an “it factor” which I’ve been missing to see in recent fantasy dramas.
After 12 episodes..7.9 isn't good.. Is this another failed drama for Mi and GongJun?Or bc it aired with the King…
I don’t think it has anything with Joy of Life 2 airing at the same time. I’ve been watching both in parallel and those two are so different that comparing them doesn’t make sense at all. When JoL2 is more focused on plotting, complex characters and politics, FSMM is all for the visuals, magic and love.
I will keep it on hold for now. Watched 9 episodes and I am mostly invested with the side stories (Princess & Demon are my favs, wishing to see more of Yaya and A Lai). I will be back here in a while to check if I want to continue. This drama is such an eye candy with the amazing CGI and beautiful cast, but the story itself is not that entertaining (yet?). It’s also still hard for me to imagine ML and FL as lovers, I was hoping for the slow burn but in my eyes it’s not progressing at all. Something feels off with the pacing. Fingers crossed for the potential of this drama not to be waisted.
Really happy to have begun this drama. It's so fresh.
That’s what I’m thinking! When I noticed “time travel” I was like “oh no, here we go again”, but… It’s surprisingly refreshing, they managed to not make it repetitive.
This drama is an underrated gem! So happy I started watching it, plot, even if has some extensively used tropes, feels refreshing and acting is on top. Very good balance between drama and comedy. LOVE IT
Disclaimer: I really like Gong Jun. When there is comedy and smiles - he’s my fav ray of sunshine. For the more serious scenes I feel like his acting skills could be better, hopefully it’s gonna improve within this drama. Not feeling the chemistry between the leads yet but that’s not the problem, I would even prefer it to be more on the slow burn romance side. I will give it time.
Right now my fav part is the chaotic but cute duo of Yaya and A Lai. So happy to see Wei Zhe Ming as one of main characters, this man deserves much more recognition. For me he’s been totally a scene stealer so far.
This drama is such a gem! Picked it up out of curiosity, not knowing anything, expecting nothing and I absolutely love it so far. It deserves much more recognition, the psychological part has been delivered so well including depression, eating disorder or PTSD.
