now this is a romance. this is the one thing I come for in fantasy dramas and they delivered that in spades. I see some comments frustrated that Tingyan doesn't want to kill. but her dream of seeing pigs killed illustrates exactly why she wouldn't kill with no reason. to her, killing is a sin, and human lives must be respected. I don't think just because she is in the cultivation world she should kill everyone that insults her. I agree with her, it should be the last resort. of course, I think she should be able to protect herself.
this aspect of killing in transmigration dramas is not explored much in dramas and I'm glad this is a major plot point. what if you were a normal office worker then all of a sudden this powerful mafia boss is putting a gun in your hand and forcing you to kill people, would you do it? why is it suddenly okay in a fantasy world?
I hope they will explain the reason behind He Rufei's antagonism, maybe his past, his motives. It just feels weird…
he rufei feels like the shadow of his sister. he hates that everything he has now is because of her achievements. that's why he wants to crush her and everything related to her

for fighting scenes I would recommend My Journey to You, also with Cheng Lei. Mysterious Lotus Casebook, A Journey to Love and A Dream within a Dream are also good options.

sorry but his character doesn't add anything but jokes about the leads' relationship. tbf if it wasn't for him xiao jue would be stagnant and not to anything to pursue his girl. but I could do without his storyline with song taotao. maybe they needed a way to make sure Zhang miaoyi was not cut out too. if the part when they met their old school friend was cut then it wouldn't have led to xiao jue realising the truth. I remember when the OG actor first started talking badly about the drama it seems like he had conflicts with chu zhao's actor. I suspect they had scenes interacting which were cut. he might have had a bigger role in the politics than he has now, cause all he's doing is hanging around and making comments here and there. a shame cause I loved him in ADWAD!
