Right it actually makes sense because he's the one who can afford to take the consequences in that situation. FL can't do it because it implicates her family and she doesn't have power anyway so that would be dumb. ML can't do it because it reveals he cares about the Yans when in public he's not supposed to take sides. Yan Mu can do it since Duke Xue is there to take him anyway and he gambled that Xie Wei had taken care of things behind the scenes based on what he said at the ceremony.

1. I think Luo Yunxi holds that title. I think they were well matched. Not to say Zhang Ling He isn't pulling but her and LYX were fire. 2. Yes Bai Lu is the best female lead he's been paired with so far but I only think it's because Bai Lu is a strong actor who pushes him and they both have complex characters. In MJTY he was an easy character to read so imo his skills were not being pushed that much, we've seen him play a good boy before. I really wish Eternal Faith was not banned because we would have seen him play a morally grey (almost evil) character way before this role 3. Depends on how it will end. I didn't finish One and Only but I think it carried a lot of emotional weight and the subtle performances and interactions between the two were powerful. However I think Bai Lu has gotten way better since then. TTEOTM could have been the best but it had a badly edited third act. I don't think it's this one because of some wonky editing and directing choices. If we're going plot wise though, I'd give it to One and Only.
