the "dream" is mandatory because of censorship but it does have progress in real world
As you know China is always working toward a collective society that is educated in history and culture. The censors banned time travel because it often distorts historical figures. They say that the public might be mislead. So one of the work arounds is to make that part a dream. I think they banned time travel and how much could be spent on historical drama, after Tribes and Empires (one of my favs) spent that gigantic fortune on costumes. Worth every penny I say!
I am sad they changed it I thought they were not going to
It took a while, but I got over wanting to see the original cast in anything. China and Korea both taught me that there is no second season and IF there is, you get a long series cut in half, or a totally different cast (so annoying). Having watched Asian TV exclusively since 2007, I no longer allow myself to have hopes, China has crushed them. I console myself with the thought that the actors did such a good job, they are now in high demand (and as a fan I should be happy for them). And thanks so much for the info on the second season. I marked it down and did not look at the cast...cuz I am a punk. Enjoy this Solstice season.
Looks like someone's the president of the 'Not-A-Fan' Club! Welcome to Xu Kai's page, buddy. I thought you'd commented…
There is someone who posts the same stuff and worst about Park Shi Hoo. If you don't like someone, why come and bitch about them. I actually wait for her to appear and see if she has anything new to say.
Get real! No one watches Xu Kai for his acting skills. I watch him because is very pretty.
Yes he is getting more of a chance to show he can act. And I am happy for him...but he is just so pretty. Like Cha Eun Woo(Rookie Historian), he looks almost surreal in his beauty when wearing historical-ish attire.
"Imagine thinking being kind to and respectful of your (prospective) partner's wishes and boundaries is "fantasy/not real"....LOL I think the problem is no imagination. Or maybe just very young and idealistic...which is cute.
How fun for you. My first was in 2010 and I have never looked back. Be sure and watch the Romance of Tiger and Rose. You will fall in love with Zhao Lusi.
"Concentrating on viewership" LOL There was no mythical time when viewership was not important, it's a business.…
I love a back hug, a drunk getting a piggyback, amnesia, someone dragged by their arm, the trip/fall where lips meet, a cliff that someone jumps/pushed off and dies then returns with...amnesia, rich powerful scary old women/mothers/mothers-in-law, the WHITE TRUCK OF DEATH!!! I mean come, on, is it really a lakorn if the unhappy ladies don't scream? I like to watch and check all them off.
Concentrating on viewership … just take famous stars for views... however the script is not that good.. Kdramas…
"Concentrating on viewership" LOL There was no mythical time when viewership was not important, it's a business. As for clichés...for many many folks they are comforting. But also sometimes they tie down the drama into a reality that we are used to. Like is it really a lakorn if no one screams? And sometimes they so overused that they become an inside joke that can share with others: Oh my guy they just killed him! Was it a white truck?
I like to watch and check all them off.
