I say go finish Si Jin it is very different. The first 2 male villains were off the charts villains. And when that girl gets her comeuppance....so satisfying. Si Jin goes down in my book as a great drama if you like a good villains. Also love a villian that returns for revenge.

No. One must be included in every drama in China and Japan. It's like, there is a back-hug and a piggy-back, in every Korean show. The dubbing used to annoy me and the way will just change a lead in the next season drove me crazy. Now I critique the voices and I have gotten over new leads.

Buddy come to China's past. I ran away from Korea, for what I thought would be a short time. Now I am stuck in China's historical epics....and a little wuxia. I know a lot of 8s and even a few 9s (I think). I only trust MDL on rating because, folks here are serious. Whereas on viki or others they are so lenient. Just make sure you catch all the biggies. Ten Miles of Peach Blooms, Ashes of Love, Love and Destiny, If you don't mind slower pace The Story of Minglan (in my top five). Love Like The Galaxy with WU LEI/Leo Wu. I think it is his best work. I also like him in Fights Break Sphere You know how Game of Thrones had so many WTH moments, well that is everyday life if you live in Yanxi Place: The Story of Yanxi Palace, is an over the TOP drama. It's exhausting LOL. I think I shout OMG at the TV more during this drama than any other. When they introduce the Imperial consort, pay attention to her little speech that describes life. it is a brilliant way to let the view know right off that the Palace is very messy place. Like the complicated, Nirvana on Fire (on everyone's top ten). Hu Ge is always a step ahead. If you don't mind your mouth dropping open and cinematography and costumes are your thing, OH and you don't mind just being dropped in it, I love Novoland: Tribes and Empires. It's a Novoland drama, there are quite a few. The thing about Novoland is that you rarely get and ending/closure. Think of them like if you were reading a long book series. Tribes and Empires is the fifth and sixth chapter in the fourth book of nine LOL. But the costumes and the scenery (always filmed on location)is China's best. Novoland Eagle Flag just broke me. So I am a little scared of Novoland :Pearl Eclipse. I think that maybe both the Bird ones have happy ending. Ready to laugh, Eternal Love (2017), Oh My Emperor!The story is just okay but you WILL fall in love with Zhao Lusi as a comedian. I have not seen her in a bad film yet. I love the dance at the brothel in the beginning of Oh My General, so hilarious.premise.

I have read enough Chinese History to say that China has not changed. Before an Emperor and his ministers decided the direction of the country. Now it's Xi Jinping and the Communist Party. Both rule with a powerful central government. As you know very little communism in China. They are a nation of merchants. I always think that the USA's current Republican party would love all the censorship of China. My favorite censorship in China is how folks in the public are role models. Well the US is totally going backward. You would not believe how bad it is.
