This was not a good movie. Hopefully Johnny n Darren pick better projects. In the end we get a slim FL married to a fat ML. Did they think the audience wouldn't digest a hottie like Johnny with an overweight girl?

Very well written. I have exactly the same views. I will never be a blind fan or hater. Silly when even grown up viewers expect that their fav will stay virgin lol

How I wish they would release all episodes right now. I love it when we see smart women, not just a smart FL but women supporting her are smart as well and not trying to push her to marry the ML and have a comfy life.

Anyone getting scared by seeing a 7 rating and wondering if it's good or not, you should know never to trust MDL ratings. Worse dramas show an 8 or 9 just coz fans rate it so, in my 3yrs on this site I've never seen any drama get even a 4 lol

u r rite, it was really funny and I'm so happy with the way it went. FL obviously needs no advice and thankfully ML is surrounded with gud ppl who give the right advice.
hopefully nothing goes wrong now and that we get only happy scenes. there's no rule that says a drama should always have -ve or sad scenes...

I was about to start watching 'pride' when I read the comment that she is no more. This won't be an easy watch. I had this same experience with Miura :(

There are pathetic dramas that I've dropped within 10 minutes but coz the acting was bad or the FL talked like a child. Outsider clearly was different from the start so I never understood how some wrote it was childish :/

I dropped a c-drama just a few mins back. The FL is either underage or mentally ill. That's the only reason I can think of. No normal grown up woman of any country behaves like these actresses are made to. It's not as if other countries don't make dramas catering to kids or young teens.
Like u said, maybe the audience wants to see women behaving in this manner. And this is why I don't recommend most of the c-dramas to my friends.
I'm used to BBC, ITV dramas so it's a cultural shock seeing how women are presented here and fans love it :/

patriarchy and govt wanting to fool the public by distracting them, enforcing censorship is different. let's not go into politics coz china is doing some very questionable things but no one wants to talk about it. I recently started watching 'keep running' and they present such a beautiful image of china, I was mesmerized lol

This is why when I don't like a drama I first look around the comments section to find out if it's full of silly fans or sane normal ones. But if it's a lakorn or baby voiced FL drama then I put out my honest feelings lol

When I 1st heard a FL talk like that I thought it was her real voice, then I heard her for real. Then I watched more c-dramas I found out it's common to make grown up women walk n talk like kids. Wonder what kind of perverts like this...

for china the old man does want to rule as long as he lives so has to order them to live like he wants them to. they don't like to acknowledge diversity so it's understandable. some day I'd like to see a c-drama cast a black actor or someone from their minority community. Maybe they have and I haven't come across one...

covid did bring drastic changes everywhere. for my friend it hasn't been gud, in order to escape their dictatorship she has moved to another city, her elder sis actually moved to another country and hasn't come back for years now!!
I feel very bad coz I'm losing my friend, I can see the changes in her, she has made some bad friends and no matter how much I've tried to talk to her she isn't changing. her parents didn't learn any lessons like our ML

it's mostly male actors who try to grab younger roles or younger actresses in order to keep their young image. some succeed, some don't.

my 1st priority is acting, story then cgi. LP scores in all. It's the FL who is annoying me. Hopefully from tomorrow onwards she'll change coz out of 40 they've already aired 22!! I think by the end I'll recommend it to you coz it's not bad. Let's see...

I might like it too if my favs act in one and it's well written though it seems they have moved on to mature stuff. I can't get serious when they have baby voiced FLs. Hopefully my fav actors would never work in such a production lol

my friend still holds a grudge against her parents. she ws gud in studies but coz it was forced on her, she stopped paying attention in class. I remember how we would meet every morning then get separate coz I would go for science classes while she dragged herself to her class... education, marriage these r some things elders try to force it on us pretending it's for our own gud. if there's a valid reason tell your child about it.

I hope 'Outsider' doesn't mention she is in her 20s again coz this is a make believe world and she cannot make me believe it. But the character is well written n she is good so I might let it pass :P

LP started with a bang. The acting was great especially XZ, cgi fab, I didn't even hate the FL. But lately I just can't digest the FL. Her voice, her actions, her decisions they all piss me off.
We know why the ML is pushing her away, she doesn't. So when she keeps clinging to him, doesn't care for long if a loved one gets beaten up coz of her actions, I just roll my eyes waiting for her to 'grow up'

half of the drama is done and she is still a child. thr was a time jump of 2yrs and yet no character development. I won't write this on the drama page coz I saw many blind fans who r branding every one with a different pov as a hater lol

We all romanticize even problematic things when we are young coz that's what we see in movies. the drama tropes I used to enjoy till a few years back seem so creepy now lol

I've seen my female seniors make mistakes in life, marriage, career. That taught me. My parents never forced me to do anything, we always discuss and the last decision is mine while my best friend was literally forced by her parents to study commerce even though she wanted to take up science.

so true. this is why writers have a bigger responsibility to not glorify the bad stuff. movies/dramas r a huge influence, no matter how much some ppl try to deny it. this is why govts want to control what can be shown n what not.

this time I fell in double trap, I'm following 'outsider' and 'longest promise'. while Outsider makes me happy, LP makes me mad coz of the FL. it gets balanced lol

it's still the minority. thr r many traditions women pretend they have changed and yet remained chained. I'll give 2 examples, adding husband's surname to your own one without removing the maiden to show how progressive one is. in the end it's just the woman changing.
I know a female CEO of a very big company, who is still expected to get home and 'take care' of her husband. And she is proud that she is so hard working and can multi-task without realizing how wrong it is.

also thr r not just men but women who gossip about women who break rules. as long as we don't change for ourselves n other women nothing's gonna change. u also need gud strong men who don't feel insecure in front of an equally strong woman.

exactly! these countries have amazing places to visit. same for china, my friend visited china a few yrs back but before getting there he was looking for VPN to be able to open sites, he was getting lectures on how to behave, to not say anything against the govt etc.

thr r all kinds, when I was young I thought everyone had a happy marriage. then u hear things, watch movies/dramas and learn. thr r couples who r in an open marriage which again makes no sense to me.
thr r also those who are not straight but either r forced to marry or marry to pretend that they r 'normal' coz we know homophobia is everywhere.

we still live in a patriarchal society, no matter how much women empowerment has happened. so at the eod it's the woman who either raises in status or falls down depending on the status of the guy.

and if she hates golf then let her be. but women like that other girl will claim that it'll separate the couple. u don't need to cling to ur partner all the time. it's healthy to have different hobbies and interests. try it out but don't force yourself and it goes for both of them. only mature couples can stay together even if they don't share every likes/dislikes.

don't watch any lakorn. my friend loves them and calls it entertainment. they just increase my anger n BP hahahha

I don't believe in censorship where someone else decides what adults should watch or read. Every govt finds an excuse to tell its own voters that they aren't mentally capable of making that decision. Today it's censorship on art, next they might tell women what to wear or not to step out of the house...

these 2 need to sit down n talk. the ML takes things lightly or for granted. and the FL is always made to feel that she has to climb up to his status in order to get accepted by his friends which can exhaust any sane person. one can't keep ignoring the noise...

again, instead of censorship, the lakorns should show how cheating, abuse, r*pe is not good instead of glorifying it.

I skipped and fast forwarded a lakorn whr the ML was forcibly married to the FL, he was always a playboy and kept at it even after marriage. She stayed by his side, then at last left him. In the 2nd last epi he loses everything, women don't want him so he is sad n says sorry to her. Last epi - FL takes him back coz he took a bullet for her!!

those ppl in power think that if straight ppl watch BLs they will 'become gay', if ppl watch leads getting married n making babies they will do the same lol

it's the little things that start piling up, we may ignore it ourself but when a fight happens or we are in a bad mood then all of it comes back. it's human nature!

exactly! n u feel left out, u feel as if your partner doesn't find u fit enough to share things that everyone else knows. and it's embarrassing and insulting when a 3rd person tells u especially when that person has been trying to get between you two.

yes when the bros get together, it's a riot. it doesn't feel fake/ acting but really how siblings are. the new one is so nice, he had enough sense to tell the ML about ping pong. the ML instantly made plans with her but he should have learnt that thr is a communication gap between them.

yes it is. and it's disgusting. and I'm not sorry to point out how they portray 'slaves' and women as equal. r*pe is shown as normal, the victim eventually falls for the criminal and they have a happy ending. it's just rotten how adultery, having another family is normal. my friend told me that ppl protested against r*pe stories but I can see the writers almost always manage to create toxic MLs who seldom have a character development, or women who keep scheming or screaming LOL

I'm actually not giving any serious thoughts about 'no marriage' coz it's a c-drama, the censors would never allow a drama especially now where the leads don't marry or have kids. So in the end they will marry. If only they had the freedom to show single men and women living their life as they want...

that's where he is wrong, he just assumes things, keeps her in the dark thinking it's not a big deal. he is not a teenager with no life experience. someone at his level should know that communication is necessary all the time, it's the basic rule every professional knows. maybe the writer was told to put in the usual 'other girl problem' coz ppl like to see it lol

I watch thai lakorns coz my friend keeps insisting. You will stop trusting people and love if u watch even 2 lakorns.
If 'outsider' was a lakorn then the ML would have slept with the other girl when he was drunk. Then either everyone would hide this from the FL or the other girl would have taken pics and sent it to the FL. Then the breakup but in the last epi FL would suddenly forgive n forget everything.
When I compare this drama to other c-dramas or lakorns, I keep giving it more points LOL
