Real-talk: Remember that a wealthy person doesn't require talent to be wealthier; money can hire talent. A person with money living in a capitalistic system will have opportunities created for them, whereas an average person needs to untiringly look for those opportunities, often with no success.
Moving on, this episode contains a lot of retcons to make Nueng likable. But it's way too late for that; you don't do that in the 10th episode. And if you do, the retcons need to be minutely thought out for being able to compensate for all the shortcomings. But this episode still falls short - for me personally - for Nueng's redemption.
Whoever wrote and approved these scenes does not understand grief or wants to make Nueng more insufferable. One simply does not ask someone on the same day they saw their mother get shot if they feel better sitting in the bathtub after a drink. Like, "Do you feel any better? I ordered more beer for you." what is this behavior? Bad script writing and character design.
Not the recurrence of "Am I that important to you?" That horse has been beaten to death in the previous episodes. If Nueng still doesn't understand how their relationship is more complex because of the whole 'father-servant-class' thing in comparison to the 'person I met in school' then I also won't talk about it again.
Also sidenote, 'does stay with me' mean 'get in the bathtub'? Writers here forced a bathtub scene just to create a bathtub moment. (Also awkward body language.) (Loved the song though)
On another side note, Nueng legit is sadder about the servant-island-boyfriend than he has been about his mother getting shot.
Triple sidenote, Nueng putting on a coat and interrupting meetings. That's unprofessionalism 101. Potential clients are less likely to do business with people that seem to have 'who's-the-leader' issues. It speaks of disorganization and lack of cohesiveness.

Nueng starts with "my dad taught me to be self-sufficient", hmm sure, yeah, okay, we just forgot to take off our blinds to see that. Earlier it was all speculation on the viewer's part, now I can simply quote him to say that he doesn't care, he has money to fall back on.
Also not the naive Doctor being like, "You don't need to worry" to Nueng. TO NUENG. Mr. Doctor McDoc, I promise you, Nueng doesn't worry. He's just sad because his vacation ended.
ALSO, THAT SAD MUSIC. Oh, and I was scared for a second as he was sitting down beside his mother. I thought he would pull the plug.

You can either depict a person as forgiving or cutthroat. What is this flip-flop of principles like Neung's beach-bought flip-flops dancing on his mother's grave?
Why is Ben apologizing to Nueng with that intensity and severity? Is nuance dead? I thought Nueng only killed Palm's mother. So back to the topic, "I did terrible things" says Ben. Like, okay Ben I understand that was not necessarily the right thing to do, but that was the only safe thing to do, so like terrible is a very strong word; it's not like you were celebrating Nueng's mom's gunshot wound on a beach or something. Talking about incompetencies, the person with the camera was also able to reach Nueng very easily, and he still didn't shoot him?? Like spying or photography is done from a distance to not leave the chance of making the person vigilant. BUT HE's CASUALLY STANDING ON THE STAIRS taking a photo with his phone. If your primary motive is to kill the person, then you should SHOOT! WITH A GUN! ALSO THAT THICK PLOT ARMOR! Nueng was able to travel all the way back from the island to his house, by himself and NOTHING HAPPENED TO HIM. Like people who tried to kill him were on a break or something. PLOT HOLES SO BIG, ONE COULD THROW A WHOLE MOTHER IN IT.
Talking about dead mothers, Nueng asks Palm "Are you okay about your mom?" like quick, move on already Palm. Who wrote this show?? Is mom an abbreviation of 'Marks On Marksheet'? So casual. And "We both lost people who understood us the most" Your mother is alive! his mother is as dead as one can be, & one with the hotel floor. It is NOT THE SAME. And he IS talking about his mother as he specifies that she is unconscious.
Also, not the staying over part. I mean, is anyone gonna inform the bodyguards? Writers be throwing ANYTHING in the plot for romance. Is there a threat to Nueng's life or not? Like, the way he came back alone and everything, with how his new bodyguards don't seem to know anything, it seems very chill.
Ending with a life lesson: if your lover has to ask if you're still in a relationship when you're not on the island, then you have to reevaluate your behavior.
All in all, this series pretends that it's well-written and has a good execution and I suffer.
nothing against the male leads but I was watching ep-4 of Jean and Mollie scene, and I realised that how in every show that I've watched I never had complaints about the acting of any female actor. Like women really be acting their ass off in Postive/Negative, Main Role/Side Characters and yet it's very rare they're the protagonists. Like the industry will readily uplift and promote male actors irrespective of their acting abilities. You have some male actors that are either visibly bad at acting or are average actors getting main-lead roles whilst a female actor has to be impeccable to be even considered. Even in the social media discourse, male actors are given the leeway of being 'rookie', 'new', 'growing', 'working hard', in response to criticism and yet similar treatment is never given to female actors, they have to prove their place. I know it went off-topic so I want to praise the acting skills of Mollie, Jean, Nim, Liu. They are fantastic actors, they grip the audience and never for a second you feel that it's not real and they're merely acting.

ep 6's umbrella walk scene has so much color inconsistency; different Camera angles have different color tint. One angle is has green tint, another has pink tint, and another has brown tint. Looks so weird when they cut between different angles.

ok i think now i know why i haven't been able to continue past ep 4 despite me liking it, I think it's because it's too long. 12 episodes of almost 1 hour each! This could have been a nice 8 episode series.
So, folks if someone humiliates and belittles you, and then can't even give a proper apology whilst not changing that behaviour, then yeah, you shouldn't date them. A few moments of good are not worth the bad moments.
That being said, this episode opens up with Palm getting the name of his non-paying boss - Nueng - on his body. What do we say when an employee has a tattoo of their boss on their body? Yes correct, it's called branding - the signifier of ownership to the looking eye. Also, how many years of marriage has it been, to justify the name tattoo? what, zero? Anyways, palm's lack of personality needed to be compensated by his subservience to Nueng anyway, the servant needs to remember his master, Mr. Nueng (that's what Palm still calls him).

ALSO THEY AREN'T EVEN DATING YET. The progression of their relationship is very natural. Also that beautiful conversation of Chopper asking Ben to live with him because he knows Ben's father might kick him out, and then clarifying that he can live there as a friend, which means there is no need of obligation towards Chopper from Ben; there is no expectation of being a boyfriend to receive safety and security in terms of shelter. DECENT people. also love the non-surity of things and still flirting coyly. they're good actors too.
on the other hand there is Nueng and Palm with their unsatisfying acting when they heard about Palm's father being the suspect. Also in the scene later when palms biological mother is telling about people looking for them.

If your primary motive is to kill the person, then you should SHOOT! WITH A GUN! ALSO THAT THICK PLOT ARMOR! Nueng was able to travel all the way back from the island to his house, by himself and NOTHING HAPPENED TO HIM. Like people who tried to kill him were on a break or something. PLOT HOLES SO BIG, ONE COULD THROW A WHOLE MOTHER IN IT.
Talking about dead mothers, Nueng asks Palm "Are you okay about your mom?" like quick, move on already Palm. Who wrote this show?? Is mom an abbreviation of 'Marks On Marksheet'? So casual. And "We both lost people who understood us the most" Your mother is alive! his mother is as dead as one can be, & one with the hotel floor. It is NOT THE SAME. And he IS talking about his mother as he specifies that she is unconscious.
Also, not the staying over part. I mean, is anyone gonna inform the bodyguards? Writers be throwing ANYTHING in the plot for romance. Is there a threat to Nueng's life or not? Like, the way he came back alone and everything, with how his new bodyguards don't seem to know anything, it seems very chill.
Ending with a life lesson: if your lover has to ask if you're still in a relationship when you're not on the island, then you have to reevaluate your behavior.
All in all, this series pretends that it's well-written and has a good execution and I suffer.
I know it went off-topic so I want to praise the acting skills of Mollie, Jean, Nim, Liu. They are fantastic actors, they grip the audience and never for a second you feel that it's not real and they're merely acting.

Yes correct, it's called branding - the signifier of ownership to the looking eye. Also, how many years of marriage has it been, to justify the name tattoo? what, zero? Anyways, palm's lack of personality needed to be compensated by his subservience to Nueng anyway, the servant needs to remember his master, Mr. Nueng (that's what Palm still calls him).

BenXchopper. YES. People be like, he moved on too fast, like it's been weeks, he didn't kiss his servant on the same day after throwing tantrums. Also Chopper isn't a stranger, they used to be close friends in childhood. Also chopper has been helping Ben since the day of the photo leak, let them be. Ben talks to him whenever he feels stressed. ALSO THEY AREN'T EVEN DATING YET. The progression of their relationship is very natural. Also that beautiful conversation of Chopper asking Ben to live with him because he knows Ben's father might kick him out, and then clarifying that he can live there as a friend, which means there is no need of obligation towards Chopper from Ben; there is no expectation of being a boyfriend to receive safety and security in terms of shelter. DECENT people. also love the non-surity of things and still flirting coyly. they're good actors too.
on the other hand there is Nueng and Palm with their unsatisfying acting when they heard about Palm's father being the suspect. Also in the scene later when palms biological mother is telling about people looking for them.

Everything has to be about Nueng or it shouldn't exist, I mean here we have Palm worried about his father as a suspect, and Nueng is like ' do I "really have to leave the island", "why is my happy time so short.", "I want to go back to mom, I want to help the uncle, but I am afraid I will lose everything I have while living here" I mean you obviously don't care about your mother being shot, since you call 'being on the run for the safety of your life whilst your mother was wearing bullet jewellery', a "happy time" but least let Palm care about his father in peace, not everything has to be about you that how inconvenient it will be for you to return to lose your free-to-use toys like Palm; damn vacationing without a care in this world whilst your m-

Palm pushing nueng away is the one of the best thing to happen in the series for Palm. Also Nueng gets shoved ONCE by guy whose mother was killed in front of him and suddenly the tantrums COME OUT IN FULL SWING.

Also the quick big ass smiling switch-up from the 'leave me, we shouldn't be together' multiple personalities, I tell you.
