If you've watched the teaser, you'd know that her mother-in-law was fully aware of everything concerning Xu Yan. Haoming must have helped Xu Yan behind her back, but it was mutually beneficial. At least Xu Yan wanted to come clean. Haoming doesn't have to spend his whole life with Xu Yan's fake parents, yet Xu Yan has taken on the responsibility for his family. All of this mess is tied to Haoming, so yes, it's his dirty affair. Don't assume 'affair' only means a romance. I'm not going to put up with this chaos when she's already suffering enough!
What actually breaks my heart is that, why she needs to play a role of a caring step-mother, a good wife and an obedient daughter in law?
