Totally agree. Both "Reset" and "Under the Skin" are amazing and they are in my fav shows 2022 list.
No, On The Ground's comment was never deleted.

Oh sad, why did you say that your comment was deleted by me (the person who wrote this thing (editorial)) when it is still right up there? Ain't only you yourself can delete your own comment? And i just logged in about 30mins ago since last login almost a day ago..

I have watched both "The Untamed" and "Reset". Personally, "Reset" is an enjoyable-watch-and-move-on drama for me, but "The Untamed" is a keeper for me. More in my reviews for both dramas.
Reset: https://kisskh.at/profile/whatever_weus/review/202813
The Untamed: https://kisskh.at/profile/whatever_weus/review/191995

In any case, the results are based on voting by MDL users, and i have not voted at all, nor did i pull votes by promoting this voting list on any MDL drama page.

I feel bad for the people who might see "The Untamed" number 2 and decide to watch it. Probably the most boring…
I personally don't find "The Untamed" boring at all, but i won't recommend it for someone new to Cdrama. There's a lot of details and messages in "The Untamed" and it is a drama that is controversial and hard to describe (and review) in a few words.

"Reset" is on the list at 19th spot, together with "Falling Into Your Smile" and "Go Ahead" with 9 votes each.

The polls' results gathered more towards new dramas but I'm glad Nirvana in Fire, Joy of Life, Reply 1988 & My…
I'm also glad some older dramas made the list - dramas that withstood time are probably more deserving of BOTB. But new BOTB drama does come by once in a blue moon, and just as deserving if those dramas also withstood time 5-10 years or more down the road.

Thanks for this interesting analysis of the results. I'll have to start watching something from China. According…
Thanks also for voting bravely for "underdog" BOTB drama! "Underdog" not because it does not have the qualities to be a BOTB, but that the voters may be few. I think it takes some courage to vote for "underdog". I have not seen Queen Seon Deok but i have heard good things about it, so i do plan to check it out!

Glad this voting project is useful for you as well! I read an article recently commenting the increasing popularity…
yea, agree with you, the key aspects (pre-production, production, casting, filming-directing, editing, post-production) are the same for web/online series and TV series. In fact, the article i read said that in some cases, these mini series' budget per episode can be equal or higher than those full series. Thanks for sharing your memorable ones. I have yet to watch any of those. Will check out Netflix and watch if available.

I wish this site wasn't so biased against J dramas. Oh well..
My pleasure and now I'm curious to find out more of the regular T-dramas. Are those regular T-dramas in Chinese audio? i can understand Chinese audio and dont need subbing. The family dramas are usually in dialect, unless dubbed in Chinese.

I enjoyed all three Cdramas you listed, though TU resonated with and touched me ever so immensely

The lack of Japanese dramas means I am unable to take this seriously... And I have watched most of the dramas…
It's a pity that Jdramas did not hitch on its boom in the 1990s to reach out to global viewers, allowing Kdramas to jump on the digital media technology and online streaming platforms to not just catch up and overtake since the 2000s.

The absence of older classic dramas really makes this pretty unreliable, though the project was a nice idea. Since…
I think every list has its flaws and some subjectivity to it. MDL's "Most Popular Shows" should be objective based on the number of watchers etc but i personally don't trust MDL's "Top Rated Dramas". More recent dramas usually have higher ratings compared to older dramas, and each user can rate 10/10 for as many dramas as one desires.
Of course, this BOTB list is not without flaws, but i hope it will evolve to be more representative over time, limiting voters to only one vote. Will do the next analysis of BOTB dramas in a year's time to see how the list evolves and what's trending in a year's time.

It is a really interesting project and I didn't know about it. Next time, I will vote for sure!! I feel like recently…
You can still vote, though the next analysis will be done only next year, to see how the list evolves and what's trending in a year's time.

Hahaha.. I have yet to watch LLTG, but i actually planned to watch it if it ever makes its way to Netflix or YouTube. The story sounds interesting and Zhao Lusi and Leo Wu are good actors.

AOS is one of the most overhyped drama. There are other Kdramas which deserve to be on this list rather than AOS,…
I would give AOS credit for its plot, acting and costume, but a BOTB Kdrama for me is Kingdom - it opened my eyes to the new world of K-thrillers, from the cheesy rom-coms that Kdramas started with.
Reset is good, but it is a watch and move on drama for me, while The Untamed resonated with and touched me so immensely.

I've never seen one decent voting poll on this website. All of them are terribly made with sole purpose of fawning…
i hope this is a decent one, or will become a decent one over time.. Will see how the list is next year.

Love the article and analysis...I'm very shocked that there aren't more modern K-dramas that are everyone's "classic…
Thank you! Perhaps you can start watching some of those dramas that top this list to find out for yourself if those are really deserving of BOTB!
Of the "classic faves" you have listed, i have only watched Secretary Kim - it's a watch and forget drama for me. A classic rom-com for me is Kdrama Full House, and while i rewatched it this year for old time sake, it is just an okay drama for me.

Tbh, i honestly think the results would be the same even if the BOTB is defined in the voting list.. Will see if the list has a complete changeover next year and if this recency bias persists.

I've outgrown the fanfare age. Story-wise, i agree SSS is best among these three dramas, but i wont say Douluo is the worst of the three! We can discuss more over messages so as not to hijack the space here for Fights Break Sphere!

I wish this site wasn't so biased against J dramas. Oh well..
Certainly don't mind exchanging views!

For me, Taiwanese dramas tend to be very long - few hundred episodes. Maybe cos those are the Taiwanese dramas i was aware of. So the only Taiwanese drama on BOTB at 13-episodes surprised me and i was hoping to watch it, but alas couldn't find it on Netflix.

Like you, i am looking out for dramas beyond K- and C-dramas, thus i made it a point to highlight those non-K and non-C dramas that made the list. Unfortunately, voting list depends a lot on the viewing experience of the voters.

I wish this site wasn't so biased against J dramas. Oh well..
For me, it is a case of accessibility - There ain't many Jdramas on Netflix, nor could i find Jdramas (subbed) on YouTube, which is such a pity as i do believe there are some really good Jdramas around.

Eh.. Douluo's script is by Wang Juan, the same screenwriter for Joy of Life, and Sword Snow Stride.. Maybe Douluo is just not your cup of tea
