I have a question for people who have read the novel. Can someone explain FCY father story? Is her father actually…
I didn't read the actual novel, but have read summaries of it. Basically, her father was the cousin to the actual Fan ErNiu. I believe he was orphaned and was being raised by the grandfather alongside the original Fan ErNiu and the uncle. But the family was poor and they sold FCY's father. He ultimately became a skilled soldier under the Wei Yan (ML's uncle) and was renamed Wei Qi Lin. WQL married FL's mother who was the daughter of another famous general that was involved in ML's father' death (this history will caused some conflict between our leads in later part of the drama). Due the conspiracy around the death of the ML's father, the royal family and WY - the FL's parents ran away to Li An. The original Fan ErNiu had passed away by then, so WQL took over his identity.
which makes me think she didn’t even notice it was gone in the first place.
Tbh, she hasn’t really had time to look in the mirror since waking up. And even if she did, or brushed her hair between the scenes, she’s probably too devastated by the massacre and scared for sister to notice and process what the ribbon means.
I've cried so much that my eyes have dried up and been worrying to the point that my stomach hurts. This drama…
Same, I just finished watching the latest two episodes and my eyes are red from crying. I feel almost dazed and drained from the devastation that just happened to CY and the villagers. I’m so proud of how brave the villagers were at end. I’m planning to rewatch the earlier episodes to revisit the idyllic village and pretend nothing will happen to them.
I can’t begin to articulate how wonderful this drama is. Even the small side characters were written with so much care and depth. Even though I’m not sure I have the heart to rewatch the recent episodes, I’m so impressed by the acting, directing and scriptwriting.
not that we're complaining LMAOOOCXX fans are being fed well rn ;P
The only thing is that we will face a CXX drought after this finishes. The only unaired drama of his left is that BL drama, which will never see the light of day. So we will need to wait a year or two for him to film another drama
Mind you I'm not into modern Cdrama coz often it makes me cringe, but this one, Gosh, they're so natural and cute…
I highly recommend Fake It Until You Make It, one of my favorite modern cdrama where the main couple have an electrifying and mature relationship. So cringey misunderstanding at all.
I don’t think the FL ever directly blames the ML in this trope — it’s more about how deeply intertwined…
It might also depend on how ML behaves if/when FL's family find out his identity. Since he doesn't believe his father is guilty, he might not apologize for his father's doings, which FL's family could misunderstand as an evasion of accountability or lack of remorse.
Discreet? Was that before or after his mother locked her in a room and she had to climb out the window and sprained…
Right, plus they could have exposed him during the ceremony in front of the all the guest. Instead, what they did was fairly discreet. Also I don't believe they were planning to expose him at all until he tried to embarrass her by saying her outfit was inappropriate for the wedding - the FL wasn't planning to say anything at, the ML was fed up and stood up for her bc of that comment.
Seems so far SML is only interested in bringing ML and his business down; as to why exactly probably something…
LMAO - two words, Chinese parents. There is no such thing as boundaries with them bc they are well versed in the ways in guilt tripping and selective hearing. Speaking from personal experience.
