Xu Kai’s acting is solid. In his fight scene in episode 19, he exudes fierce intensity. Then there’s the drunk scene—beautifully executed with such subtlety. What really gets me are the close-ups. It’s not about his looks; I’m drawn to them because they reveal the nuances in his performance. Mei Zhuyu’s qinggong is on full display—he’s darting up trees. Fight scene is like a video game. Mei Zhuyu and Wu Zhen are both on to Pei. OK I think they must know each other identity in ep. 19, after all that fighting. OK I got to think they're going to get marry in 20 or 21. Some people may be disappointed as there was no kissing even drunken.
I think he’s especially great with micro expressions which are extremely hard to do. And casting directors know…
there's actual proof that he has amber colored eyes. The post is on X. The kids in school used to refer to Xu Kai as Noble Persian Cat for his eyes. The post showed old text posted by his classmates. I'm not sure how contacts work but Xu Kai's eyes the amber really shows up in the light. You may think it's light brown but when the light shines on pupils, you can see amber glow
In Episode 1, when Mei Zhuyu walks into that creepy Records Retention room, Xu Kai’s acting really stood out to me. The way he moves, his whole presence fits the character and the mood perfectly. The talisman scene was especially strong. His hand movements were sharp, and even without dialogue, he’s fully engaged—reacting to the space, showing emotion through subtle expressions. It makes the scene feel alive.
if u meant confession, based on the preview, both of them confessed their feelings at ep20-21 (not aired yet).if…
it was love at first sight in the novel for mei zhuyu and that is why he proposed marriage, it was his idea actually, but in the drama, I don't think it was love at first sight, but in ep.1 the first time he saw her, he looked up and was captivated but I don't think it was like he wanted to marry her
is that foreshadowing when Wu Zhen's father Duke Wu handed the baby chick (his grandson) to Mei Zhuyu. Was that the first time, Mei Zhuyu met Duke Wu, he looked a bit awkward I think because it was her father.
Question: I thought demons and humans aren’t supposed to mix. I think i can understand why the demon lords can,…
They are demons their essence is spirit the kind that can take on different forms. Hu Zhu is fox spirit (animal). Ling Xiao is wisteria spirit (plant). Same with Cat Lord (animal) and Snake Lord (reptile). Even those pair of earrings spirits took on human form but there are spirits that do not shape shift. In any form, they can appear among humans, and the humans don't know they are demon spiritual beings. I recall each of their deputies or assistants would have a business or job in day among humans. I don't recall why Mei Zhuyu would not be able to detect their demon aura. It's been a while since I read the book, but the book went into great details explaining all these things. I just came to accept the world in the story.
trigger warning: opinions!!!!spoiler: it started out good but like we kind of lost the plot in a sense and there's…
Yes, it's addressed in the novel that mei zhuyu could not sense demon in the cat (wu zhen) nor wu zhen detect his powers, after she found out his identity, snake lord even joked about it, said to wu zhen, its right under your nose. It's not like the people making this drama are ignorant of it. The story only has one plot. There's no "new plot". There's only one plot. How can we lose the plot when the mystery is still unfolding, and no one knows the plot since it's not in the novel. There are no side plots or subplots, all the side characters have an impact on the plot and the drama gives each side character backstories, substance, and context.

interestingly, first time, I was following the Douban data for Feud closely just out of curiosity, and omg, what they call water armies at work, there were pages and page of AI generated - 5-star comments for weeks. I was shocked. Then recently, I heard on Marcus Here channel that Douban did a purge.

I've been through all that when tracking the data daily for SAF6, it's meaningless. The data will eventually get manipulated so the math works out to the final score. I stopped wasting my time on MDL scores. There is also no transparency, at least Douban show you the percentage. I actually think it's not just individuals or groups, the bias is also MDL, they seem to favor certain actors more than others.
MDL ratings are never a trash..! it's just people don't want to take them 😂 Seriously saying MR is not that…
it's a disguise, a facade, a front that Wu Zhen puts up, it's part of the story, you're missing the point of it all, and taking things literally and out of context
