Other actors put out promotions constantly to highlight themselves positively with the public, but not Xu Kai. He is so unique, so rare in the industry, I think he has a very strong emotional core.

He is not a typical demon type. He is special type. A hybrid. That's why Xu Kai he doesn't know what type of demon he is. He is different than other demons because he not only was born half demon with cat clan blood line like his father, he now also possess the very powerful Evil infant that cannot be destroyed, it still lives inside him, but the Zhu Yu plant purified it so it's no longer evil inside him which is why he fell into a coma and survived because of the Zhu Yu plant healing, and the Zhu Yu plant his father cultivated is so powerful it turned him into a full demon with more than Cat Lord powers like his father which got passed to Wu Zhen, and he also possesses the most powerful Taoist powers. Demon powers and Taoist powers were not supposed to merge together; if it did, he became the most powerful being.
Now they are both full demons, they can be together for really long time.
Anyone else would have died but Zhu Yu plant only responds to Mei Zhu Yu, perhaps his cat clan bloodline. I think his father has cultivated the plant as like a cure for him, knowing that he was going to use his son as the host or vessel to seal the Evil Infant which is why he sealed all his Cat Lord powers in the lantern for his son to protect him once he seals Evil Infant in his son. I think with the Cat Lord powers and his cat clan bloodline, he should have been able to withstand it unlike Wu Zhen, and Mei Zhuyu when he went back 18 yrs, asked his demon father to transferred the Evil Infant core to himself, didn't have Cat Lord powers yet so he also got demon sores. He cannot since the Cat Lord powers are inside Wu Zhen. In fact, his body was even worse shape than hers to absorb Evil Infant because he did not have protection of Cat Lord powers like she. This was all carefully planned by his father but maybe he had hoped the day came later.

The reason Wu Zhen became a full demon is that the Evil Infant seed or core was preventing her from becoming a full demon these past 18 yrs. IT was corrupting force inside her body. Once Mei Zhu Yu went back 18 yrs to take it back from her, she turned into a full demon because Wordless book had already started some transformation forces for her but along with her injuries from that evil sec leader he did some dark magic demon spell on her, so her body weakened and she started to develop sores, she not able to seal in Evil Infant it's causing her sores,

His father did not recognize him since it's been 18 yrs. He didn't recognize his father because he had that demon marking on his forehead to show that he was in demon form unrecognizable to Mei Zhu childhood memory. The little boy recognized him, but the father may have erased his memory of his demon form.

Xu Kai can give a fiendish / malevolent gaze too. If you zoom in and stare at it, you'll see the nuances esp. in the eyes and lips too.. that tiniest of tiny lip movement meant to be eerie when paired with that gaze. It's very different than just looking evil or acting evil. Add that to his range. For a guy who is supposed to be easily scare.

They’re not the kind of dramas that everyone’s talking about before filming, during filming, after filming, and even after airing.

There is no hype around Xu Kai or his dramas, yet he continues to quietly shine. In all his dramas, his natural brilliance is evident to me, because I look for it.
