OK so I missed that nuance. You're saying that the way she confronted him that he was not testing them but testing himself trying to prove himself wrong, that reality struck a chord contained meaning that he decided to give her the time device knowing that it will help everyone. So, in the end, he was not a complete villain.

I really love this drama, though I can understand why some people might not. For me, I’ve been searching for…
The reason it doesn’t fade into the background after a few episodes is that the centuries-long feud is the spine of the drama. This story doesn’t drop it; it builds on it, through multiple cycles of marriage and separation.

I guess only she could do this, not Xiao Jing Shan. And he hoped she could change his past too, so he was willing to die?

Why did Xiao Jing Shan leave her time travel device? He said, "final step require the creator to sacrifice his life" so he must have killed himself as he vanished, so the time reversal dial could be "forged" and when he vanished, then it appeared to her, and "I'm giving it to you. Don't let me down." Was it redemption or final manipulation?

Hmm.... this series was one of the best I have ever watched. Easily a 10/10. But even though it is a Happy Ending…

That Ave***** woman is the most ridiculous one. She's a self proclaimed "critic" 🤔 even though she doesn't…
AvenueX likes Liu Yuning a lot. She has a disdain for certain actors though. She went two millimeters into Bai Lu’s scalp, and that’s exactly how shallow she is. She tries to act like she's such an expert pointing out smallest details. She thinks something only has value if it’s formally recognized. If she likes an actor, she won't say anything bad and even defends them.

I saw a YT video discussing Moonlit Reunion and it says it's coming in mid-July to compete with Flourished Peony…
Feud has ended June 21
The Princess's Gambit has premiered June 25
A Dream within A Dream has premiered June 26
Flourished Peony Season 2 has announced premier date June 30
Legend of the Female General rumored for August 4 or 5.
So mid-July should be a good month to release Moonlit Reunion, right?

The Chinese title of Feud is äø“ę±Ÿä»™. The middle character, 江, means ā€œriverā€ and often evokes the flow of time, memory, or fate. The first character, äø“, means ā€œto overlookā€ or ā€œto face.ā€ The last character, 仙, simply means ā€œimmortal.ā€
Together, äø“ę±Ÿä»™ conjures the image of an immortal standing at the riverbank, gazing into the water—not merely as scenery, but as a mirror of the past. It speaks not only of reminiscence, but also of reckoning—with love, loss, and the weight of choices that ripple across lifetimes.
It hints at a deeply poignant tale. Honestly, I've had tragedy in my own life and this title speaks to me too. But unlike fiction, I can't change my own actions and choices. I can only stand at this river and cry with it.

maybe Yu Zheng made changes to the script. Below someone posted Yu Zheng came out to say he put a lot of effort into this production - it almost sounds like when someone is so proud of their project they say "it's my baby." so I think he oversaw everything himself.

It does not feel like it was written by the screenwriter based on her works (it was written by the screenwriter but Yu Zheng may have also made changes is what I meant) However, I'm not a fan of this critic. She has her biases too.

I'm just guessing but I think Yu Zheng wrote this. It's his foray into xianxia. I wonder if he will do more xianxia. Whether he originally wrote it with Bai Lu in mind or not, she was the right choice — her past roles as strong, fierce female leads in Untouchable Lover and The Legends made her a natural fit. This role was great for her, it required versatility, nuance, duality, etc. It may be her best role this year.
