Ep 31, The fight scene has a classic appeal for me due to its exquisite performance—it captivates me every time I rewatch. There is a rhythmic progression that captures the ebb and flow of emotions in the fight scene throughout the fight from the moment they stand on opposite side of the door in anticipation of each other to when JX stormed out. The gradual escalation—from soft tension to intense moments, followed by quieter interludes, to fits and then the blow up —creates a mesmerizing rhythm.

I get the feeling that HT felt the need to quickly take JX home to make it official to his grandfather/family that they are in a relationship together, and afterwards, he also initiated JX to quickly call her parents so they can tell them together about their relationship. This was about the time that he realized he may no longer be able to prevent the merger. Before they got out of the car to visit his family, HT said to JX that no matter what happens between them in the future, she must never regret now they have both met each other's families. She looks at him and says something like who is going to regret first, if I recall right. Why does HT think that by making their relationship official between their families will help the future conflict that he sensed is brewing?

Qin Shi is such a strong-willed character. I don't think anyone can snatch anything away from her. She chose to leave the 2ML because his mom won't accept her.
In Yang Hua, Qin Shi finds solace, self-worth, warmth, protection, and unconditional love.

The whole atmosphere of that scene. The way he handled the tea and spoke business at the same time was graceful to watch. He was respectful and gave him one last chance, yet his message was firm and to the point, and when Zhu backed HT into a corner, HT executed him. Even though he knew the devastation to human lives, he is decisive and unwavering. JX being nearby and can overhear them makes the scene even more tantalizing. Then HT, in one moment was a ruthless killer, the next moment he gets up and spoke gently to JX to go have lunch. Has the feel of a Mafia scene.
It's very well done.

I like the business story very much, not just the AI industry which if you're going to be alive for next few decades, you will not be able to avoid AI, but the entrepreneurial challenges, internal and external politics, high power stakes in dynasty families, competitors who are out to destroy you, friends who are only out for benefits, risks of mixing love and business, and college friendships that continue into their career (which is very common among top students from elite colleges), and they're all at that age, they are looking for life partners, and there was also sense of family and being filial which I love seeing in Chinese dramas.

Also, Ji Xing is a social entrepreneur who is empathetic to others. Her mission is to advance technology to help those who need it the most, either can’t access it or can’t afford it.

Han Ting is a visionary technologist who wants to ultimately not just lead the way but allow the entire industry to advance faster.

More favorite scenes: Ep27 - The scene of HT meeting with Zhu Houyu at the teahouse over the acquisition is exquisitely crafted. Ep30 - The scene of ZD messing with JX’s mind and emotions is also masterfully executed. The acting in both scenes is superb, and the camerawork heightens your senses.

whoever made this clip (from the announcement of the ABAY project) did an amazing job, it really fits HT and JX vibes in the drama.

Oh, I just got to Ep29. XWX told HT that Weiwei can't get a job anymore after Han Yuan discarded her. So, HT and XWX knows. Not sure if HT ever told JX about Weiwei. Seems HT knows everything that goes on.

she's only 25! I hope her star will rise.

Her performance in Royal Feast was outstanding. I've never forgotten this actress after that.

Oh I love this actress Wang Chu Ran. Her performance in Royal Feast was very memorable to me. It makes me interested in this drama. I didn't realize she's only 25. She has such an elegant looking face; Chinese style classical beauty, she could play a goddess with her looks. (She's 5'8", not bony looking, and has a nice figure.)

For me, the actresses with the most natural chemistry in terms of on screen and off screen with Xu Kai are TSY and Jing Tian.

In the original novel, HT was even more matter of fact but there were moments that revealed how HT was falling for her. The writer of the original novel on the one hand avoided writing about HT's feelings and emotions while lavishly writing about JX's feelings and emotions, yet the writer also made them bump into each other all the time especially in the elevator so that they had emotionally charged moments and there were moments in the novel that explicitly described Han Ting's emotions falling for her. I recall a moment when he went to his nephew's bar and while the nephew was showing him his operation and then suddenly HT saw JX sitting alone in the bar, and all his senses perked up, the novel was describing his feelings in very sensual way, which was rare moment for the writer to describe Han Ting's feelings. Then later she was drunk, and he was holding her on the ground and people were passing by, again, the writer exposed his sensual feelings for JX. In the drama, they replicated that scene when HT was in the backseat of the car with the drunken JX, the way JX barfed and slumped over him, and the way he was looking and feeling and sensing her body on him reminds me a lot of how the writer in the novel described HT senses. HT is different in the novel because he is 8 yrs. older than JX (in the novel, it's more the feeling of the movie Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn (24) and Gregory Peck (37) which is odd, that's one of the things JX had on her list of things to do with HT is to watch that movie), and there was no college crush or loss of parents or that JX gave him the stuff animal, all these thing changed some of the dynamics; however, I still can feel the essence of HT and JX in the drama because they kept so many of the lines from the novel and followed the novel pretty closely, but mostly, the actors did a great job. I do feel the same feeling of love between HT and JX. The success of the drama was completely carried by the leads. The director did a great job. The drama version is just as good as the novel, in some ways, better. I don't think drama viewers would like JX in the novel - I can just hear the haters if they made JX exactly like the novel. There are so many amazing scenes in the drama cannot get from a novel.
