it's the artist in this new director, he does everything with a flair, but no one gives him any credit, as if aesthetics in this drama just magically happens on its own

The comments on Douban and MDL turned negative on this director which is concerning. The main complaint is that he prioritizes art over logic. This director has flair for arts, penchant for offbeat comedy, and fascination with sadistic themes such as captivating villains in The Double. We should also get sadistic scenes from him in this drama for its supernatural and sinister themes.

The Double was this director first drama if ignore the slapstick wacky super low budget comedy from 9 yrs. ago, so he doesn't have track record other than The Double which he received mostly negative criticisms. For sure, he can make addictive captivating scenes, but success of drama also need a cohesive narrative, character arcs, and emotional resonance.

Personally, I enjoy this director's artistic flair. I don't watch for logic but for entertainment or emotional impact. Unlike The Double, at least Moonlit Reunion supernatural theme should make plot holes more forgivable.

She probably low-key person, didn't' socialize with elites. Her husband's family, the Princess, they all did recognize her. If she kept to herself, why would anyone recognize her? People don't wander far in those days unless they have a reason to go somewhere. If she goes to capital, she probably waited outside. She has no reason to go inside. She was a nobody so why would anyone care to visit her?

Douban also dropped from 6.8 to 6.7 due to the percentage of perfect 10's has steadily decreased from 18.1%, 17.5%, 16.7% to 14.3%. The user ratings are still growing over time due to how popular it is, so the rating is not final yet.

AvenueX does not like any dramas. She only likes the old dramas. She puts up with watching so she can make videos to ridicule them. It's basically her act, her trademark. The disturbing thing about her is she has something against certain actors, it's really hatred of them, for whatever she is triggered by them.

You can't watch this drama with logic. You have to just go with the flow to be entertained. This drama was made for pure entertainment not a serious story.
The very first scene is already illogical that a woman tied up, knocked unconscious, buried alive can somehow crawl out of a hole that deep.
People not recognizing her, or she can fool everyone is believable. There are plenty of novels and movies about people who have uncanny resemblance to someone else. A Tale of Two Cities is an example.

But you don't know why she never return his text, when did her college boyfriend show up before or after Han Ting left? Did she ever tell any of her friends about him? It seems like no one else knows that they were college acquaintances. The trailers haven't revealed anything I cannot gather from the synopsis other than how these two met.

I don't mean it was intentional at all, but life can be like that with her, just like she never meant to neglect her boyfriend. Things can be out of control for her because her life is hectic, unlike Han Ting who is perfect and has everything under control. I'm curious what happened with her because they lost touch for ten years.

I found a link that has Eng subtitle and reposted it above. It was XK who said, "come director, let's try it". They did succeed in getting that pose. I like it.

Does Ji Xing not responding back to Han Ting fit her character? I think it does. Look at all the times she prioritized work over her boyfriend. Does Han Ting saying we are strangers fit his character? I think it does. I think that Han Ting doesn't realize it but the spark that was lit ten years ago in his youth is still there, but he is being pragmatic to avoid sentimental attachments in order to guard his heart.

The director likes to act out the role to show how it should be done.
