ML father is grandma son (prev. thought ML mother was grandma child but it is actually ML father)

he did not lie. he said he does know but he doesn't understand why.
he's still trying to figure things out too.
I think she didn't believe him on the third response which he hesitated.
why did he want to meet after the will was read? was it to discuss the hotel?
she's being arrogant like he was when she first met him - part 2 the roles are reversed

this is basically a drama that the Fl can do no harm and always wins
perhaps the mother daughter conflict was over after the big slap.
the granddaughter grandmother relation has ended with her death.
now we pivot to her career.
part 1 was about poor family life.
part 2 is about rich family.

she is arrogant that is her flaw, too independent, she thinks she can do everything herself. she even feels she deserves the inheritance, no discussion with YZM

what happened to the mother daughter theme? so 2nd half will have romance?

the second half is a new drama, with YZM 2.0.
XK is playing two characters again YZM 1.0 and 2.0

the writers made YZM story very compelling and interesting, but it goes nowhere and lingers around because the story is not about him but about MCH, her mother, and her grandma.

if you've worked in corporation, it's all politics and games., but when YZM used her influence, she felt violated. If the boss asks you to do something, you can say no because you feel conflict of interest, which MCH did, but the boss reasoned it, and she agreed due to her independent and arrogant nature, she feels she can accomplish anything.

Grandma looked over the proposal and told YZM she was good with it, but she needed assurance her staff will be taken care of. YZM said he would do everything in his power.
but she didn't' trust him. He even said you can have MCH over me, so she could have worked that into her will some conditions. The thing is if MCH is so arrogant about being independent and not ask for help because she can't trust him either, actually, the hotel will fail without YZM help. Only he understands the sharks in corporation. To me, he is the hero because he gave up everything. He had to get that hotel because of Zhang, if not for Zhang, I doubt he'd ask his grandma. So, in the end, he has to give up everything he worked so hard for, yet MCH becomes the heroine. because grandma felt MCH shared her values and her vision. He could not trust YZM.

Why didn't grandma bring back YZM, the father was gone, the mother and child is constantly on the run from debtors. The grandma knew and flew 10000 mile in high heels to offer help. If she has that kind of money, she couldn't help them before? Actually, the ML father is the grandma's son. Maybe the mother had custody and would not let him go with grandma. In the meantime, grandma apparently took care of FL brother full time for 6 yrs. and also took care of FL too I read in some comment.

the tempo of the drama was meaningful and interesting and charming until grandma died and now it's being reset, starting over. I watched the first half, now I watch the second half, but they feel like two separate stories. The ML story goes nowhere but always lingers around every few episodes, his past is mentioned in a few sentences. So now it will take a few episodes to ramp up the second half of the FL challenges and add more mother and relationship for brother..

then ask why?

Grandma, you have left me a very difficult problem.
Too bad YZM was unable to tell Grandma his own personal difficulties.
YZM knew her hotel problems and he had his own personal issues.
he really wanted to solve them both, kill two birds with one stone.
He is smart guy, he would figure out a way to satisfy her, if they had time to discuss it.
MCH is actually being arrogant. If YZM hadn't told her about the deficits
she wouldn't know right away. I really see this as a flaw in her character.
She is no longer that perfect character. Her flaws are being revealed

was grandma running it before she died at 86yrs old? there was never any mention of issues running the hotel. now it's going to be a nightmare because they're going to find out she wasn't running a business to make profit, but just providing jobs to friends who became her family, like she said to YZM, these people are my family, no different than you. So, she was never a real businesswoman at all. I guess I misunderstood her. No wonder she gave hotel to MCH.

yes, but this is to pay Zhang back; otherwise, he would not do it. He would figure out another way for promotion. After not having return home to see grandma since he left prob. 20 yrs ago? I doubt he would have done this. But Zhang asked him to repay her. and Zhang seems evil. I feel if he didn't, she will make trouble for him.

Although this drama is supposed to be about mother/daughter, the bond between MCH and grandma is much more profound. Does that mean the second half we'll going to go back to the mother/daughter again? I can't remember if the mother even really had an impact on her life,
other than she provided family life and loved her, the basics of what family provides.
The mother did not have any meaningful impact on her life; rather, she was holding her back.
It was the grandma that made her who she is.

And the poor homeless YZM well, who cares about him. He only had a few seconds to get his grief out. We learn his tragic life in 4 sentences and one minute every ten episodes.
Grandma does not even have a picture of grandson on her desk.
You think that grandma would have at least kept a picture of YZM and her before he left.
but the drama only showed on her entire desk where she sits and stares, is only a picture of MCH and her.

I could be wrong, but YZM did not return to get the hotel for himself, although he indirectly will profit from it, but that was not his objective. But grandma died thinking it was.

the law firm that the lawyer fired MCH brother!

he has to repay a debt that he promised an evil lady who will make his life miserable.
it's possible that it was legal issues? whatever it was, it was very bad, she said she saved him in his darkest moment of his life. so, he has to get that hotel to repay her, I'm guessing she can create problems for him whatever issues he had before, because YZM had a lot of problems before, YZM was on the run constantly as a kid because debtors would storm his house.
His dad ended up in jail, possibly his mom too, seems like he and his mom were constantly on the run. But whatever his past, this drama will only spend a minute or 4 sentences to explain it,
The ML story is only for convenience to the plot. Even his grief was seconds long.
The ML tragic story will pop up every 5 episodes explained in a moment.

In the corporate world it is all about the bottom line because your shareholders.
Grandma hotel (Xing?) is independent or privately own so they don't have to worry about the bottom line if they can afford to make less profits.

YZM needed the hotel to repay a debt (that's I'm guessing)
