you are right. I´d fear for the provinces, but the war with the west might not be a problem. China these days is trying to tell us they are a megaloman country and we can kiss their boot anyway.

that is understandable but what is not understandable about this concrete drama is: the BL element in it is not THAT significant. if you have read the novel, you know that there is not that much romance and I cannot imagine it being hard to just ... avoid it? but I don´t understand why it is taking them so long to release anyway. the story is about war, politics, China expanding its territories. the only issue they might have is that in the end they killed the king? so maybe they are afraid it will inspire people to kill their leader or some bull...? but that just sounds laughable.

yeah, exactly and just imagine a man like JiYang, he is very delicate looking by nature. is he now going to lose jobs just because he is not all muscles and doesn´t seem all macho? THE LOGIC OF IT ALL IS JUST ESCAPING ME.
it´s not even about the show anymore. I will probably survive with not seeing it, but all these people who are gonna lose jobs just because they don´t look a certain way?? the fear that you are not masculine enough man or feminine enough woman to do what you love and what you had worked your whole life for?

I have forgotten to make it clear my annoyance was targeted at the message not at the messenger :). exactly what you are saying - finally when people FINALLY start viewing China as a progressive country .. they just turn around and throw all that into the ocean. I hope they will at least air the projects that had been finished.

this is a story of war and politics. how more masculine can you get? the book wasn´t even overly romantic, the most romantic about it all was the fact how loyal they were to one another. take out any physical closeness and you are ok. I can hardly imagine there would be a problem with WIK adaption being too feminine.
still what you are saying, if it is true... it´s ridiculous and really sad. China is killing their own industry.

I don´t think they will air them this year at all. I also highly doubt they will release them sooner than let´s say summer 2022 and that´s probably wishful thinking if everyone is gonna be good boys and not cause any scandals. I don´t know why people keep talking about February 2022 when China is hosting Winter Olympic Games, but well that´s another rumour.
I honestly side with those who are just giving up and accepting the fact we might actually wait one more year because as we can see Chinese entertainment industry is going through some tough times and danmei is a risky business all along.
and I´m definitely ready to eat my words if it comes out sooner, but I just don´t think it will. we can still fight for more people to read the novel in the meantime :D. now at least I don´t fear about not finishing TGCF in time :D.

it also took me some time to finish it and it´s actually really not that long. about 126 chapters or so? which is by far not a long book. if you want a link, let me know.
you gotta get through the first chapters but once you reach chapter 40, you won´t be able to put it down. at first, I was reading it simply because I fell in love with Gu Yun, like it´s really hard to explain why for me his character just conveyed the story so much, but he did. after chapter 40, things speed up and you stop reading only for one character and finally see the other one evolve into an interesting person. also the plot gets ... quicker?
personally, I just always worry with danmei novels that they will take out wayyyyyyyy too much :D, so reading is better.

my cynicism got the worst of me ... again :D
