I'm rereading the novel today while hoping this will release this year. Arghhhh the novel IS SO GOOD!!! PLEASE…
exactly! everyone who is desperately waiting for this to drop, should read the novel. it is SO good and the politics is done in such an interesting way. you will love it! it´s intelligent, entertaining and the way their love it portrayed via mutual care and understanding just gives you hope for humanity.
due to strict Chinese rules. it was shot when they were not implemented yet so there was some hope, but not anymore unless the Chinese entertainment business becomes more lax again.
shows his dedication, but I think it was unnecessary, you can be gentle and fragile even when muscular. those qualities are not about looks at all. isn´t it about portraying those emotions well? he is a good looking man either way, didn´t have to go through all that (unless he was buffing up intentionally for his previous roles and letting go of weight training was a breeze for him)
I am surprised anyone is still clinging to those rumours about when this one is gonna air. the show was finished in 2020. people have been guessing its release date since 2021. just a lil suggestion, don´t be masochists and expect this one to air anytime soon and maybe you´ll be pleasantly surprised :)
I agree with you that if Japan and Korea joined forces they would be able to produce some wonderful live versions of mangas/anime. though I must admit I do have a bit of a soft spot for the amateurish production of Japanese live versions. they are just charming.
Excellent comment, I agree with you wholeheartedly! He is a fantastic actor and he should not be cancelled for…
it would have been nice if you gave my comment your full attention and read the first part. ------ quote: my pet peeve here is the fact how many people criticise South Korea for their strict laws but have you ever checked their statistics and how their laws might be useful? --- there is why I went into full detail and did a small research on the topic. as I am not an expert in the area, I did use UN as my source as I felt it should have been credible rather than worldpopulationreview.com which states that Afghanistan is leading this sad statistics. fair enough, I can´t and will not oppose that. you are probably perfectly right as I personally have not went in depth into checking out how they are collecting their data etc. I was simply trying to point out that being strict on drugs might pay off? and I do admit that I possibly went a bit overboard due to best intentions (I did have some interesting read).
but since I can see that cannabis is not a big deal for you, calling the laws against it barbaric. I think we will never agree on this topic.
sounds like it´s time to drop this one. thank you for the wake up call :D
I absolutely agree. here we´ve got a perfect example of what we could call "lazy writing". with all due respect to the creators, I agree with the positive comments about the romance (both actors are cute to boots, not to mention capable, JKH kinda is repeating his other roles, his characters all have similar personalities, but I´ll forgive him for being him, the FL actress is charming and I had not seen her before but she is that, charming). their romance is all cute and all, BUT the mystery is just plain boring. where is the twist? where is the suspense even? I really wanted to believe it wasn´t Mr Ji (and no, not because he is terribly cute though he is), but I just refused to believe someone would actually come up with a plot THAT dumb. the whole "stressed kids" is seen in every single high school drama. we get it, school in Korea is tough and I am glad they are talking about overcompetetivness and mental issues but like they just don´t seem to milk that plot. it´s just there. the mums were funny / angrying in the first episodes and now they are just pathetic and laughable. I spot some talented actresses why not use their talent for something better than dumb coffee breaks and stupid monologues? literally a wonderful plot of the two brothers and OCD lawyer mum is just in front of them and they are throwing it into the bin. how much could have been done with that plot! DAMN.
sorry this is awfully lengthy. not to mean to throw all my feelings at you but I got a bit heated up :D
could you elaborate on where exactly is propofol legal for personal use?
well, he obviously wasn´t using it to get his wisdom teeth removed by himself, was he? that is why I have said "for personal use". most people don´t even use it as a recreational drug due to how dangerous it is (the side effects). the problem with propofol also is it doesn´t last long and a user might want to increase the dosage which might lead to overdose.
as for the other one, sure thing it is, but marihuana is illegal in South Korea. I would agree that they could have just removed his projects from Korean regional streaming, but I suppose Netflix knows how big kdramas are and don´t want to mess with that.

so are we to celebrate drug users for their decisions? all addicts need help but that doesn´t mean we should applaud them for taking drugs in the first place. not to mention the drug is not only dangerous to himself but others too as it could affect his behaviour.
I am not saying condemn him forever, but he should definitely be given some time to rest and get clean and if those projects have not been yet shot, maybe that might be a good time.
my pet peeve here is the fact how many people criticise South Korea for their strict laws but have you ever checked their statistics and how their laws might be useful?
In 2021, the number of arrests for drug-related offenses amounted to approximately 7.6 thousand cases, decreased from around 8.7 thousand cases in the previous year. Overall, drug-related arrest cases showed an increasing trend as the years passed.
while you might argue that the States are way bigger, I agree with you but the number is just insane! the States are number one in all drugs use (United Nations has several tables on that matter) and sure Hollywood might be filled with people who are addicted to different class of drugs, but rules are different everywhere and I am sure Koreans know their laws quite well.
also, I just hope this doesn´t come as too defensive. I don´t mean it personally, I just feel a bit of injustice and surprise at how much people are fine with this just because it is their favourite actor. as if being talented suddenly erases other mistakes. not to mention I don´t feel okay about criticising other culture for their beliefs and morals (there are exceptions though as for example the Korean fight contra equality and feminism).
I really just want to know why exactly Ji is acting this way towards Chi Yeol, I thought it was obsession/ love…
I do think that he eventually wants to get rid off of anyone who bothers Chi Yeol because he is obsessed with him and wants this kind of upper hand over him. to me it looks like power struggle and obsession rather than over-protective love
I guess it is time to reread the novel.

happy birthday
