she is a doctor who treats Gu Yun, she lives remotely with her father but later joins the battlefield as a doctor. she is a good friend of the trio and is really badass. both her and shen yi are a bit socially awkward and they have both funny and cute romance. she is a bit brisque, not really worried about her looks and is not taking any of the boys´ bullcr*p :D. I loved her throughout the whole novel, she is amazing.
Shen Yi is in love with her and Gu Yun often teases him about her. he is a kind and loyal guy, but he is not exactly your romantic prince. he doesn´t really go around saying how much he loves her, but he also tries to give her gifts (I remember he once travelled to some part of the country and brought her something? but he was puzzled about what she would want). he pretends to be mature and practical but really he keeps blushing around her and is cutely awkward.
they are both amazing in their fields. she is well respected as a doctor, even though she works with men and is probably used to their lame jokes, hardness and her world is rather violent. she is caring and kind. same for Shen Yi, he is always talking about how he is tired of Gu Yun and everything he had to go through with him but he is his bestie forever, ride or die and is an amazing man.
if their characters are ruined, I´ll never forgive them all the pain of waiting.

the love line in this one is pretty subtle but very strong. what their love was about in the book was care, trust, selflessness but there is SO MUCH MORE in the book like the friendship, battles, a strong badass female doctor, machines, politics, magic. I wish they don´t butcher these parts.
I can´t wait to watch the new epi, I find the romance in this so nicely done! but honestly, after seeing the comments, if the killer is really Mr Ji (the assistant) this particular plot is done so stupidly. it´s like they just didn´t care to make the mystery actually clever. it´s just obvious and pointless. the whole mystery part of the drama is just downplaying the overall enjoyment. same with Seon Jae´s brother. I feel like they tackled an important issue (a mental breakdown of a stressed out high school student which led him to ostracisation, depression and anxiety) and just kind of "let it be" to "hang out there".

I feel so too. it also might be the fact that a lot of viewers are young/er at age so they are not used to seeing people in their 40s (might not be their fault at all, we just don´t get enough of those stories which is a big shame, ageism is a thing we tend to ignore but one step at a time). I disagree with all the "she is just not typically pretty". not typically pretty? to each their own, but to me she has this kind, friendly, caring aura about her that makes her attractive. if I saw a woman like her on a train, I´d crack my icy bitch face and talk to her just because she seems supernice. she also has a nice slim figure, good hair, wonderful skin. she doesn´t use a lot of make up and I am sure if she did, she´d go from "pretty" to beautiful and sexy in no time. she has it all, people are just not used to seeing gorgeous mature women.
also a heads up to the lawyer mum, I have such a crush on Jang Young Nam ♥♥♥♥ even since It is okay not to not be okay. she is insanely pretty.
