Ngl this started off good with a well written plot but has been a complete train wreck until now. Idk why they made the characters so brainless and extreme? 1. When the FL was about to get assaulted and she locked herself in the room, if ML didnt pick up the phone, she shouldve called the police. Any sane person with a working brain wouldve done it, and it was not the ML's fault yet she blamed him.
2. Whats so wrong for ML to be working part time as a wedding videographer? It was not everyday, it paid well and he could experiment with his directing skills through those wedding videos. Also never ever in my life have I seen someone eating leftovers after the wedding. Anyone wouldve kept aside atleast 20mins to eat during lunch time, and its not like someone wouldve said anything.
3. What happened to FL's mother? From being a caring, loving and understanding character to "I WANT THAT HOUSE" even if the children have to scrape by. Like what??
4. And whats with the sudden change in the secondary couple? What is the scriptwriter thinking?
Too many dumb plotholes to count. They better give me a Happy ending else not only I will have wasted my time, but also my brain cells. And the drama name should be "Such a dumb and miserable love", its misleading
Thank You!! I did not know such rules existed! I cannot believe I've missed a drama like The longest day in Chang'an…
Yeah I agree with most of the statements you made. I liked the Rebel princess till around 55 episodes and then it went downhill imo with a messy draggy plot.
Also NIF 1 was more memorable for me as I loved how the relationships bw the characters were shown, especially bw ML and his fiance, prince jing, empress dowager, feliu and how the ML shows a range of emotions from rage to guilt to pride.
Story of Kunning Palace was also a pleasant surprise as I thought from the synopsis and cast, that iw would be yet another cliched reverse-harem or love triangle. Although Ive yet to see a cdrama where SML doesnt have affection for FL.
I've yet to watch Side Story of Fox Volant as I heard from the comment section that it is a very sad drama/ tearjerker and I believe I've had enough of tears through 'IU' right now :)
I dont know if you see or have seen kdramas, but theyre equally as good. I personally suggest watching Song of the Bandits, its short and quick paced centered around Korean independence era. It is one of the very very rare dramas where SFL is way better than FL and has wayy more chemistry than FL with ML.
I would also suggest watching "Mr. Queen", it has such an unique plot which is really well executed. Plus the amazing acting of Shin Hye Sun makes it more believable, with literal jaw-dropping scenes which makes it more bingeworthy, especially paired with the OST 'Bong Hwan A'๐.
They should not have shown the present in the first episode if they were going to drag on to the past this long. Either they shouldve switched back and forth bw past and present throughout the episodes or shouldve ended the past much earlier. I gave it a few chances even though it was a bit draggy but now Im getting bored. Dropped for now, will check again after it has finished airing

Ofcourse I've seen Legend of Zhuohua and Princess Agents :) , both are really amazing with great chemistry. Im currently rewatching the Rebel Princess and Nirvana in Fire. The casts in those is also one of the best Ive seen. I dont think Ive seen those leads in any other notable dramas.
I guess you must have seen the Double? It also has an amazing chemistry between the leads with both equally cunning. Same with Wonderland of Love, but I felt it was lacking the same thrill and intensity from other dramas of the same genre. Another good drama is the Princess Royal until around episode 25. {{SPOILER AHEAD}} But I felt like it went downhill after that due to the dragged out love triangle and ML becoming from a smart person to a doormat.
@LloydWater I moved the answer here....The drama is tagged as a Smart Male Lead and Strong Female Lead... she…
Thank You!! I did not know such rules existed! I cannot believe I've missed a drama like The longest day in Chang'an for such a long time. I usually swallow up all the thriller/political dramas as often as I drink tea during the day. I have added it in my watchlist and will complete it over the weekend. Thanks again :)
Yes, absolutly. However it is a commitment because there is a massive cast of chracters, 73 episodes and a massive…
Im watching it rn and loving it so far. Does the FL get a little more smart in the continuing episodes as it feels like the ML's wits are carrying this show
So here's what I think will happen, and Ill be very disappointed if this does:
The ex of FL has come back, and FL will have to work with him due to the photoshoot. FL may waiver, ex will try to get back FL and explain why he left ML will get jealous After a few episodes, ML's eyesight will weaken Somebody close to him, or probably ex, will notice this and will try to instigate a breakup b/w the leads The plot of modeling and side characters continue ML will think and self reflect, he cannot be with FL due to disability and try to or will break up with her before he goes completely blind Again some plot will happen (like FLs aunt cant bear to see two leads apart, will tell FL the truth and/or ML's father persuading ML to get back to FL and not have regrets like he did with his mom), and FL will get over trauma of ex, will find out the truth and get back with ML The end.
I hope I'm wrong and it does not turn this generic
