The weird thing about this drama is that the well written parts are superb! But the poorly written parts are just…
Haha yeah pretty much. For a show that manages to be progressive in so many areas, you get the worst treatment of most female characters ever. I think Cha Kyung Hee is the only one whose whole existence didn't depend on a man lmao
This drama just seems to be full of production meddling issues. I hate how poorly written Soon Hyun was as a character. She was always defenseless when she is THE POLICE OFFICER. she always needed the strong male judges (lol) to help her. Quite a joke
I love all the twists in the last episodes. Haven't finished it yet but the only problem is how long it takes to get there. The writing is some of the best in korean dramas nowadays. At times it felt more like an american show. Special props to the production and writing team for having the courage to make the pretty boy main actor a villain.
Can someone tell me whether this is a bl? I've seen some edits and I'm so confused.
It is the gayest drama I've ever seen, and I generally don't watch those BLs. It's like Ga On and Yo Han were written as a couple and they act as a couple EVERY TIME but then the show has to show Soo Hyun to appease South Korea's conservativeness
Still on episode 11. Some stuff in this is pretty great and innovative but others are just the typical commercial kdrama. Sad about that part, it had better potential. Also the politics in this are really confusing for me. At times Yohan is almost an extreme leftist but then the show goes on a weird tangent to go like "blue lives matter" in 2021. So... weird.
this drama is special because there's no way the writer doesn't know how dumb all this shit is. like... in most makjangs it seems the writer is just making stuff up and being bad as they dont know better. with penthouse its more like the writer chooses to do the most illogical, absurd, ridiculous way of doing things every single time. this is why I love it so much
I'm not sure if I'm watching the same penthouse.. s4? sorry can't relate lol
some people take this show too seriously. they feel led on by all the over the top stuff and dramatization. can't relate at all lol agree with your initial comment
I kinda wish the villain won in the end. Han Tae sul was, much like his real life inspiration Elon musk, a dumb…
Production team really worked hard tho, so props to them. Writing was as far from deep as you get. They were trying too hard to be complex, but they really weren't...
I kinda wish the villain won in the end. Han Tae sul was, much like his real life inspiration Elon musk, a dumb arrogant jerk who managed to piss me off most of the time. I don't even know how we were supposed to like this dude
Still waiting for the subs, but *PERSONALLY* I never cared about the Logan character much. He was kinda funny when he was disguised back in S1... But after the character just didn't feel engaging enough for me. Of all the characters they could've killed, he was probably the best one
Why the writers are trying to portray seo jin as a ideal mother who keeps her child before anything else lol,…
I don't think they are portraying her as ideal in any way - its just that things can be more nuanced than that. Like, all this bullshit she does, is the only way she can help her daughter. She doesn't understand the mental health stuff probably because she has many of the same stuff Eun Byeol has. Everything bad her father made to her she repeated on Eun Byeol. In the way she cares about Eun Byeol is totally fucked up - but it's still in some way "caring". I don't think she even knows how to be a decent human being lmao
Dude...This those recent episode got me emotional somehow?
Same. In the end Seo Jin is simply a tragic character. Even though we see how her father worried about her once, it also made me remember how badly he was with her while she grew up. It seems like her biggest problem was that she was not really loved. The closest to love she received came from both her father (hence the whole link/obsession she has with Cheong A) and how Ha yoon Chul kind of cared about her a little bit lol
In the end she was, as much as Eun Byeol, a result of the environment she was raised in. I'm probably gonna be sad when they kill her by the end of the season lol
Daily reminder that the Cast page here is edited by users just like you, who are watching the drama. It's not official. Just posting this as people on here always seem to make up theories based on that
