How? they explain their backstory from the very beginning and then it's one linear timeline from there. It's definitely a lot easier on the brains. Even Bai Lu herself said during these mortal realm episodes there are costume differences between past mortal world and current mortal world but if you're not careful you might mix them up. You put the flashbacks in the beginning and that solves that right away.

No, IMO this would seriously be a lot easier if they started with the mortal world flashbacks and then follow it up with her pretending which leads up to the fight and it just continues from there.

I'm not saying to not show the past. I'm saying to rearrange how it's shown for easier consumption so it feels more linear.

I get that but I want to know the aftermath of the fight, not watch a million episodes of their past. I just feel like this drama would be easier to consume if they just rearrange the timeline better. it feels like it's all over the place.

they left me blue balled at the fight just to do flashbacks for a gazillion episodes. my biggest complaint is the non linear episodes. even when you're watching at present you see the young servant turn old in a blink of an eye. it's way to jumpy and the time jumps are too frequent.

there were also many times throughout the entire series where ZH gets himself in a sticky situation and i'm thinking this was all in his plans, but turns out, it wasn't in his plans he really fucked up LOLOL.

there were posters released a few days ago with ZH facing a bunch of different characters and my theory is the ones he was bowing to were his allies and the ones where he looks like he's clashing with are the bad ones. so far it seems correct with the dongxia queen, but he's also bowing to the king so i think the king is an ally. the third person seems to be 8th princes dad.

There's a lot of mainland shows that do well now in taiwan lol. i think TPOB is like number 2 or 1 on Taiwan netflix and youthful glory is like number 5. Funnily enough back maybe even 10 - 20 years ago it used to Taiwan who dominated Mandarin entertainment.
