chief.. we are under the assumption that linger and FL are in the know about their plan. Therefore there is no need for the mirror scene to tell FL who she is when they are the only ones in the room together. They are WORKING together.

How? they explain their backstory from the very beginning and then it's one linear timeline from there. It's definitely a lot easier on the brains. Even Bai Lu herself said during these mortal realm episodes there are costume differences between past mortal world and current mortal world but if you're not careful you might mix them up. You put the flashbacks in the beginning and that solves that right away.
