I am sorry but that's not correct. Do you even know what is happening behind the curtains of nudity scenes on the set and how many young actresses are forced and coerced to join in such scenes? Pls read the interview of Emilia Clarke who told about her experiences. People have every right to criticise such scenes in which are actresses and actors put in such a vulnerable state for the sake of higher viewer numbers.

People are complaining about the unnecessary nudity scenes and the historical inaccuracies . My problem is especially because of the acting... no character seems interesting enough or to root for. The majority is morally rotten or plain and boring. Though I am a big fan of Jeon Jong Seo here she feels somehow wrong in the place and her acting feels lack luster. Fortunately it is a short series, so I will stick to it.

He died in ep 2. But he is appearing also on the other eps since there are many flashbacks

I remember you. Which drama are you watching? Since TRS I've watched a couple of dramas, only Lovely Runner came close to the feels I had when I watched TRS

Just here to spread some love and diminish any negativity. Can't express how much I adore this drama. I remember when I watched it in December 2022... wish I could forget everything and watch it all over again. 🥲

Ok I admit that I am not a big fan of Park Shin Hye (though I liked her in the call). But this one sounds really good. Looking forward to it

So far no triangle. It is hinted that the 2ML has feelings for her but no clear evidence yet. Also you can clearly feel the attraction between the main couple.

So finally completed all four episodes and here are my thoughts:

So far I would give this a 7.0 I've already shared my thoughts about the unnecessary nudity scenes because of the well known coercion of many actresses in this industry.

The story is quite brutal, dark and intriguing. If you are somone who likes historical thrillers like Kingdom you'll also like this one. Unfortunately there are way too many names and characters and by episodes 4th it was hard for me to follow who was who and who had which aims and interests. The characters should have been introduced better. Also so far it is hard to root and like anyone. Though I usually like the FL actress it hard to feel attached to her in this drama. Somehow it feels like that she isn't suited for this role. Her acting feels so stiff. And don't get me started about all the others characters... the only one who is kinda interesting is the prime minister. Since the drama is tagged as a melodrama I am kinda worried that he will sacrifice himself :/
One thing which bothering me is the dark light of the drama... It is really difficult to recognise scenes in this poor light. Had to put my blanket over my head while I was watching it on my tablet 😅
Nevertheless I will watch the 2nd part.

I am sorry but I have to disagree though I also prefer East Asian Cinema over Western series. Where in this show were the sex scenes justified?

Yes the one between the king and the queen was hinted and nicely done. But all the other ones? Was the scene justified when a male slave was eating out that one lady? Was the scene justified when the king came back from battle and the maids where all over him? The one were the wife of the 3rd prince was raped, should have it been that long? Or do you mean the one when the king died?

The problem is also that usually the women are naked... like suddenly you see a glimpse of female nipples which was unnecessary or a guy fully clothed who rapes a woman.

I've seen one episode and so far I liked it. Really looking forward to the rest.

But I can understand the criticism regarding the nudity scenes. After watching an interview with GOT's Emilia Clarke and how she was treated during intimacy scenes by directors and Co. I am even more against s*x scenes or anything related in series or film. There are just so many (young) actresses who are coerced into such scenes. Too many dark sides. It is just unnecessary fan service for male viewers.

Have to add that I liked the twist in ep 4 regarding the ML family conflict (that he is so much younger than his father's younger girlfriend who is pregnant). Didn't expect handling such a controversial topic and I have never seen any kdrama which was about this issue. Makes this drama even better, love the mix of serious topics and the hilarious antics of the FL.

Oh no ep 4 finished at the wrong moment xD I think daily visitors already know my love for this drama but I would like to emphasize that I also like the FL. She is so crazy but super endearing, intelligent and quite empathic (which is shown at the end of ep 4).

And yes love it that it is so refreshing to see finally beard shadow on the male actors. Looks really attractive on the ML and SML. 🔥

Am I the only one who likes this drama? I've seen three episodes so far and can't wait to watch more. Warning, the FL is badshit crazy - a mad scientist through and through. There's a lot of chemistry between her and the ML from the third episode onwards. He's just such a flirt and it's just cute to see how he's constantly teasing her... 😏 The OST is good too. IMO the rating should be higher.

Alright looking forward to it. The FL is crazy but somehow it makes sense to put her into the category "crazy scientist" :D

According to her bio on MDL her last drama was 2023. Her fans just upvoted her so much that this list doesn't make any sense (don't have any problems with the actress but she doesn't belong here). For me best actress from 2024 was Kim Hye Yoon for her outstanding performance but Kim Ji Won deserves also the the first couple of places.
