I assume a Thai person would have a hard time calling this a Thai show, when the source material , scripting, directing, actors etc are all Chinese? Also it's obvious some of the scenes were filmed in China. Surely all of this is more important than where majority of filming took place? Would you call Game of Thrones anything other than American, even though it was filmed in like multiple countries? FYI those 20% are Thai citizens, HYR and YQ are not, and those shows WeTV iQiyi made/will make are considered Thai, because the process of production was the opposite of To My Shore.

Do you also feel like it's somehow the Chinese shows that get huge internationally, not ones from Thailand or other places? Like Addicted, Untamed, RL and maybe this one. I've always wondered why lol. If anything it shouldn't be those low budget, dubbed shows breaking through hahahaha.

Waiting on a few more episodes before deciding 😂

Hua country is actually China, not a place in Thailand, and the accident happened there, so it was natural for the characters to speak Mandarin.

Bad dubbing, not dubbing in general is the issue. Good dubbing saved Wang Hedi's "Love Between Fairy and Devil". His natural accent and voice would not have cut it for his character. Yes he should have worked on those issues, but still, thank god for his voice actor.

Haha they want an eye candy feast and those actors don't meet the standard. I think oif they'd looked into the plot it'll be clearer why (imo) YQ got picked to play his role. His character grew up in Thailand, so YQ's vibe brings that exoticness, which is a neat contrast against HYR. And yes lots and lots of celebs do get their faces done unfortunately, especially common amongst Asian stars.

Taiwanese refers to another language that is not Mandarin, also known as Minnan, so when you say Taiwanese is easier to understand than Mandarin, I'm confused because you are comparing two different languages lol. But I think you are referring to the different accents after all.

Yun Qi actually isn't considered attractive by mainland Chinese standards (and he does look non-Chinsese), but Hao Yiran is, the stereotypical idol drama face lol.

You might be mixing things up, both Taiwanese and mainland accents are for the same language, Mandarin. I personally prefer the standard mainland accent you hear in the shows, but each to their own. But yes linguistically, all are Chinese languages.

Both speak Mandarin, just with different accents and vocabularies. What they call Taiwanese is also a Chinese language, spoken in Fujian.

Oh they'll need to find someone really really tall to play Cheng Feichi hahaha.

With Chinese shows, the most you are going to get will be some steamy kisses, heavy breathing and maybe some hand movements/petting actions lol. We just don't do explicit scenes, if you are expecting Thai style action.
