He said on that idol show a few years back he's one eighth Russian
Some fans thought he looked mixed so asked him about it, that's why he mentioned his background. Also yes it's super uncommon in China but at one eighth the foreign ancestry is basically negligible.

PS can someone with access please edit or request to edit his profile, he ain't half lol

Well Chinese people are harassing them . They don't deserve idols seriously.
Did the entire Chinese population harrass them lol? Do the ones that didn't not deserve idols? Maybe you don't deserve Chinese BL shows if you can't tell the difference?

Haha I don't think it's worse than any others
mature entertainment industry, just very competitive due to the HUGE talent pool. There's always someone better looking and younger coming up. The upside is if you make it big, you are gonna be rewarded very handsomely πŸ˜‚

Hahaha I think I'll leave it until the show starts to check it out properly. Fingers crossed the actors sizzle it up.

I don't think 30 is old, the industry thinks 30 is old. If an actor is still doing support roles at 30, then chances are they are not going to make it to lead actor. Luo Yunxi might be doing lead roles at 37, but he is not doing those roles in non idol shows. If you want to be respected as a solid actor, you do zhengju, not idol shows. And let's be honest here, if you know anything about the Chinese entertainment industry, can you truthfully say he's going to be male lead anytime soon?

Hahaha I looked at the faces and thought " so which one is the hitman? One looks like a student and the other one looks even more like a studentπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚". Maybe they'll somehow work, but jolly gosh where is the casting director finding those baby faced actors from πŸ˜†

I can see HYR maybe steadily do support roles. He unfortunately doesn't have youth on his side and there are thousands out there with his type of look and acting ability, so competition is tough.

YQ on the other hand is interesting. He really isn't considered attractive beyond his small TMS fan base ; I get the feeling he comes across as ugly cute to the wider audience. But this could work in his favour, as there aren't many of his type.

All in all highly highly unlikely they'd become what WYB and XZ have become.

Hi πŸ‘‹ sorry to say but it's highly unlikely they'll do another BL drama together. The whole point of doing TMS…
The default next step is always a straight drama if they want to break into the mainstream. Actors who come up through BL dramas are not respected/regarded highly in the industry. Those guys from ABO Desire might seem popular but only within the danmei reader niche bubble, and it took Huang Jingyu years to crack the mainstream, but only after he made straight shows and memories of Addicted had faded. I guarantee Liu Xuan Cheng won't go anywhere higher if he stays known as someone who does BL shows.

Also remember they said those words in the context of being a promotional CP. I have no doubt they are friendly in real life, but as someone said "In China, anything in front of a camera from a CP is fan service", and they are trying to maintain momentum for their newly gained popularity.

It's hard to explain unless you know nuances of Chinese and the Chinese entertainment industry and I could end up being wrong, but it would be such a bad decision and monumental waste of what they have gained from TMS, if they did another BL.

Hi πŸ‘‹ sorry to say but it's highly unlikely they'll do another BL drama together. The whole point of doing TMS was to raise their profiles so they can break into the mainstream and star in straight dramas. Doing another BL show would mean the opposite of that. Not breaking up as a CP most likely meant they'll stay friends, won't avoid each other publicly and maybe do the occasional livestream together, even if they get more popular.

The actors would not be doing lives/reactions together if the company/whomever wanted to protect the them haha. My guess is they are focussed on the domestic market, which is the end goal of very single CBL, as that's where their popularity will matter and converts into money.

Safe to say it's Chinese for everyone, except a few special peopleπŸ˜‚

Well I think you must be one of very few people with that opinion, as it is known as an American show around the world, not say Croatian, where it was partly filmed. But no matter what, whether they filmed overseas due to monetary incentives or lacking mighty castles, they are still Hollywood aka American shows. Same thing should apply here then, filming in another country due to censorship doesn't make it non Chinese? And yes calling "The Sparkle in Your Eyes" Singaporean is double standard on MDL's part, but the corrective action would be to change it to China for that show, not change China to Thailand for this show.

This isn't the first time I've seen this take, I think I said something similar in regards to RL being a Taiwanese show just because it was allegedly produced by a Taiwanese production company. Like hello??? My gut feeling is it's not even a Taiwanese or Thai person whinging about this, I bet they'd be embarassed if one of their own actually felt that way lol. All of what I am saying is not to minimise Thailand's role, lovely country and all, but it was mostly used for filming locations and I think post production, but that's not where the majority of creativity lies, it's the directing, scripting and acting, and that's what makes this a Chinese show lol.

This is a really absurd take? Like only the country of origin matters? Then lots of American shows should really be called British? Also comparing making physical products to this filimg process is so weird. China making products involves them planning, designing etc. like they are heavily involved in the process. TMS hired places in Thailand to film, where planning etc was done beforehand, with minimum involvement from Thailand. This is the difference and this is what matters. Also no I don't think China invents everything, where did this even come from lol? Same way I don't think Thailand would say they invented BL genre, just because they made a BL show. Finally it would be nice if you could tell me how you'd classify Game of Thrones, based in your opinion, ie is it American or not?
