I spent all weekend reading this novel and god.. What a beautiful, sad and tragic love story. If you like reading books that give you a heavy feeling in your tummy, full of angst and hopefulness, please read it before the drama airs! If they just stick to the OG characters and source material, they could really have themselves a hit.
Esther has the opportunity to channel whatever magic she used on Yun Weishan’s character to bring my sweet, resilient, Jiang Mu Mu to life. I’ve only seen He Yu in My Fated Boy and loved him in it, so I’m excited to see his portrayal of Jin Chao. He’s much skinnier to what I wanted Jin Chao to be, but finding an actor who isn’t super slim is probably difficult in c-ent.
Before reading the novel, I had been seeing photos and videos of them on set and was nervous at how awkward their interactions seemed. But after reading the book, I completely understand the vibe. I felt on edge this entire book, like tragedy was bound to come speeding around the corner at any moment. I felt suffocated whenever Mu Mu was alone with Jin Chao because I know how it feels to be in close proximity to the person you love/care about. Having to hold back, scared to say something that will ruin the moment while being afraid the opportunity might not come around again. Feeling like every goodbye would be the last time she saw him again. It was thick with angst, tension and complete devotion.
It’s going to be an emotionally draining drama, especially the second half but I can’t wait to see how this plays out. Go Ahead is one of my favourite modern dramas and although not the same, Speed & Love is the only thing to give me the same feeling. I am a sucker for any romance that has a connection to childhood so this is absolutely everything to me.
There are so many reasons why Victor ma wasn't choosen, one he said he can only play the comedy side 2, he's not…
Diva, I am aware lol. You don't need to try change my mind or convince me why BJT deserved the role. It doesn't change the fact that I was connected to HL characters, and was unable to seperate those worlds when I watched this. That's it.

I'm sure there are many reasons why he wasn't cast.. which is fine and understandable but my introduction to this world was through Hidden Love and I fell in love with the characters so I think it's understandable to feel this way. All the Sang family members were different and I felt that way about them too.
I am so so so so so in love with this drama oh my god. Esther is my favourite actress and previous to this, A Romance of the Little Forest was my comfort drama but now it's Ski into Love. I think I get through the 23 eps roughly everything 3 days, then repeat. At first I wasn't sure about Lin Yi being cast next to Esther, but after the first few minutes of him and Esther acting with each other and I was HOOKED. Amazing cast and loved the story. The only criticism I have is some of the cuts were so choppy I had to rewind to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
Currently on Episode 10 of my 2958739583475983475th rewatch.
I love a strong female lead and Zi Qing is quite possibly my favourite FL in any drama I've watched. As for Beiyue,.. at first, I wasn't sure about him, but after the bride selection ceremony in episode 2, and seeing his insane eye contact with ziqing, I am all for this man. I'm obsessed. OBSESSED!!!!!
I absolutely devoured the first 4 episodes, but now I'm finding myself getting a little bored and fast forwarding through scenes. The camera work is also taking me out a little.
