Finally a good comment! Yes, I agree, I am liking this show as well.
It’s not only with the male lead. It’s with her family and her colleagues too, which is why they cowered away in the beginning episodes whenever she was around and why they would talk shit behind her back. The hospital professor even said this to her in the first episode.
Juyeon and Gun’s first interaction was a nightmare! Could you imagine being on a long flight, on your way to present your lifework in hopes of getting the go ahead to proceed with potentially saving peoples lives, but a weirdo is starting at you, and all of a sudden he’s touching your face and even worse, falls all over you and now you’re both rolling around on the floor of a plane. He’s ruined her day and now she’s carrying that animosity for him, on top of being stressed about her own life and upcoming presentation.
I don’t agree with her being rude to him about the death of the lab rat, but I can understand her anger and frustration. It wasn’t his fault though and she should apologise to him (can’t remember if she has or not yet). But there is still 14 episodes to go, and plenty of time for her to make it up to him. We aren’t seeing the full picture yet, and there’s still so much story to uncover. I think the onus of being supportive and kind to Lee Gun is on his brother and his parents who have treated him like shit his entire life and not a stranger who’s had a handful of unpleasant interactions with him.
Anyways, we can agree to disagree and keep our different opinions. I just hope you don’t continue to get too worked up over her and this fictional drama. Hopefully she can change your mind on her character as the story progresses.

You absolutely don’t have to empathise with her. It’s up to you to interpret her character and the drama for yourself. But I can understand why she is the way she is.
Her trauma is what shaped her, and is the reason for her being closed off and cold. Just like Gun’s trauma cause him to spiral into depression. I would argue Juyeon actually suffers the worst in the entire show. She literally watched her dad being murdered???
She’s been in love with her coworker who just broke her heart, while being aggressively pursued by her emotionally fragile patient and now his younger brother is also trying to pursue her, though not as intensely. She doesn’t have to entertain or reciprocate either of their feelings, but I could see why she would be more comfortable around the brother. Gun is constantly confessing to her, sending her finger hearts & being a menace. She fears she ruined the surgery (when touching his face) and is conflicted on whether to ruin his psyche now after coming out from a dangerous and experimental surgery, or go along with his delusions that she’s his first love and hope he is able to become emotionally strong enough to handle the truth once he’s healed.
I agree there have been many scenes where she's acted unprofessional, but so have most other hospital staff. There isn't a single character in this drama that is perfect.
Multiple short length series after being a main lead in a bigger production like Starry Love seems like a step back for Xuanlin, but I'm enjoying it so far.

It's fun! I'm actually a little baffled at the poor response it's getting and surprised at how many people watching the show lack critical thinking and empathy, especially for Juyeon. I think i'll skip reading the comments as this drama progresses because everyone here is a downer lol
Some people said we are over sympathising ml by saying that fl and sml also has traumas .....1. did fl trauma…
lots of spoilers in both of your comments. do you mind adding the spoiler tag for people who haven't watched it yet and don't want the plot of the first 6 episodes ruined, thanks!
this is so good holy shit?!?!?!?!?!??!?!? although i knew shin had something to do with it as soon as it happened, i was still shocked at the end of ep6
Not really... He just locked her with her mother in the end
i wrote that comment as i was watching the leek scene because it reminded me of something in the rain. i didn't like how he left her with her mother at the end though.
I can't un-see it. Every time she's on the screen it's like looking at Hyoseop omg.
