This was supposed to be my review (it's messy just like my feelings) but I decided to post it her as a farewell to my new all-time favorite cdrama:
Standing strong, living on her own.. the survivor met her long missed lover.
When Sang Yan and Wen Yifan saw each other for the first time. It was puppy love, when spending time together was enough, when their happiness lied in each other’s smiles.. their eyes only contained love for each other.
He was a young, lively, and confident boy, ready to give his all for the quiet, introverted, and broken girl.. while her days were midnights, rainy midnights, he was the only star and sun in her dark skies.. giving her rainbows and breathtaking scenes.
In a world where love has it price, he simply wanted to give her every drop of affection he ever had, no matter how miserable her life was, no matter the pain she unintentionally caused him, he saw her sad eyes deserving of the love he never lacked, he decided she's his passion, ambition, goal, destiny, past, present, future, his ever after.. This love was greater than their shadows and pains, in her lowest moments, when she wanted to disappear, to run far away, when the only path in front of her was made of thorns, when she never trusted anyone.. She hated hurting him the most, thinking that she was broken beyond repair, and loving her will only break him too. She gave up her happiness in exchange for his.. she gave him up.
Years of yearning, wasting youth on regrets and what ifs, they reunited, and decided to never let go again.. he was living, she was trying to.. So when she needed love, he gave her his all When she needed a family, he became her own When she needed to feel safe, he chased her nightmares.. When he said I love you, she said I want to kiss you When she was his all, he was her only exception So when he gave her wings, she flew to his embrace..
Wen Yifan, a survivor who never needed a man to rescue her, but she looked for her breath in the love he gave her. Sang Yan, the lover who never lacked anything, other than her to love her with all the love that grew in his heart and soul..
The survivor found her lover, so the lover came back to life..
some people here need to realize that showing emotional maturity, courage, selfless love and understanding is…
He's simply a good human who have so much love and understanding to give.. Let's not forget he grew up in such a healthy family, he had the most comfortable life somebody can have
They do that in the short dramas I wonder why they don’t do those hot scenes in reg ones as well
It may seems crazy what I'm about to say.. but the thing that makes cdrama special imo is the censorship, it feels like—unlike nowadays kdrama and typical hollywood— they focus on the story more, they don't need any intimate scenes to catch the attention of the audiance, they portray relationships and love in a much much more beautiful way than any intimate scene could do. I always had a thing for love that blooms slowely, lovers who yearn for each other but can't take their relationship a step further, and when they do.. their eyes, their affirmation whispers, locking it with a kiss— that's much more beautiful than two naked people who barely did anything for each other going wild..
dont know if i'm the only one feeling this way but, the past 4 episodes have left me so confused and i can't even…
I just decided to seperate them.. I love both the novel and the adaption, each have it flaws but for me it doesn't make any version better than the other

I have to agree with you.. watching today's episodes I'm lowkey disappointed, it could've been better.. they had a chance to make this part more outstanding and sadly they didn't see it..

We're not arguing for the sake of a 'fictional character'.. but you're aware that the society is full of women like Wen Yifan right? women who were abu$ed/R/SA but were blamed and shamed at the end, with no one trying to understand their trauma.. I can't stand seeing anyone belittling a survivor courage to live, I can't stand them not having a nail of empathy for a person whose barely holding on (ironic, all they're focusing on is the lover being heartbroken.. not even mentioning her going through hell)
“it feels like the rain in Beiyu, has soaked into my bones.. No matter where I run, I can't escape that rainy day” This line broke me hundred times already.. can't yall see how hard she's trying to erase that past? To forget that memory? It's killing her from inside it always been killing her..
Maybe if they did it for 1 or 2 weeks it would be more or less (less!) understandable. But 6 months? Are you joking?…
It's too soon to judge and tell what she've been doing in this 6 months :)) In tomorrow eps teaser we saw her coming back stronger, so indeed she was doing something for them
