The Truth Within is Luo Yunxi’s first modern crime-suspense drama, premiering on 29th December at 12pm. 21 episodes with 6 cases in total.

Luo Yunxi transformes into a forensic examiner, Qi Sizhe. By day, he is a rigorous figure with a heart to speak for dead and fight for the rights of living. And by night, he pulls up his hood and becomes a mysterious figure.

I am very much excited to see joint powerhouse performance of Luo Yunxi and Liu Yase, so far she is his only co-star I actually like.

Yes, all in all he is a good person.

He is similar to Tang Lici. He works diligently in the day, but at night, he disguises himself and secretly follows a key suspect.

Useless arcs... useless scenes... and useless characters contributing ZERO to the main plot just ate up all the screentime.

I would say the drama gave the best ending to A Shui, she got a chance to choose her own ending by leaving and giving up on the divine stone. Because the other alternative would have been Ye Mo personally digging the divine stone out of her head with his bare hands and then offering it to Tang Lici, ‘Master, look I have a way to save you so we can live together forever’ ⁠✷⁠‿⁠✷

That being aside, I had already warned this user in the past to not have expectations from her character, what did they meet in the end? Disappointment!

It’s okay, it makes no difference whether it premieres today or tomorrow. We know the rule will be total disregard for the promotion.

It’s also a karma in a way; the author abandoned Tang Lici and the screenwriter abandoned A Shui. Tang Lici and the drama, both forgot A Shui like she never existed in the first place(⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠)

In my humble opinion, SLY is much better than TTEOTM; don’t get me wrong, both are great and LYX is incredible in both, I like TTEOTM too but it felt like a drag to me, it needed some more scenes to be cut down, I honestly believe the 40 episodes rules saved TTEOTM, its screenplay really so-so... SLY is a masterpiece of its own— NO COMPARISON! There won’t be a villain like Gui Mudan is the near future— his ways of using opera is a mockery of Liu Yan and represents his dominance over him. In the very first exchange between Liu Yan and Gui Mudan, one could clearly tell who is the puppet and who is the puppeteer. Gui Mudan can stand somewhere and I feel chills down my spine.

I am as obsessed with SLY as A Li with Fang Zhou, I am not going to leave this page anytime soon and I probably won’t ever leave this page.

It again all boils down to the fact that useless characters ate up all the screentime, and we lost some really great plotlines and character arcs.

Yes, the insane numbers of comments on TTEOTM page was also circulated on weibo. I didn’t have a MDL acct at that time, I used to scroll down occasionally.

When Fang Zhou died, Tang Lici said he would save him.
When Chi Yun died, Tang Lici said he was sorry.
When Shao Yanping died, Tang Lici said he would avenge his death.
When Liu Yan died, Tang Lici said 'yes, the moon is so beautiful, very beautiful.'

But when Ye Mo died, Tang Lici said "we will meet again"

They should have roped us (you, me and Kwanto) as editors for SLY. We could have enhanced and taken the drama on another level.

Tang Lici will always love and protect this world. Not did he write his own fate but also the fate of the world. There truly is none like him.

I became a complete crybaby in Ep35-40, I even cried when Ye Mo offered tea to Tang Lici. The scenes that left a lasting impact on me were the scenes between TLC and his mother, TLC and LY, ZCJ reading the letter and the entire Ep40, Ep40 is my most fave one in the drama.

Bai Suche shouldn’t exist in this drama either, and Chi Yun should die by sacrificing himself for TLC— that would be more impactful. Chi Yun’s death scene was messed up all because of Bai Suche.
