Idol drama? I don't think this is idol drama. All the actors can act here. Just look at their acting, they are…
idol dramas can have good acting too! Most dramas with young leads targeted towards young audiences are idol dramas. So while this one is definitely one of the better ones, it still is an idol drama.
Whats up with the addition of Yu Menglong and Wu Lei? I don't know I'd feel if the story ended up being leaded by them instead of the leads in the other two seasons.
If anything will make this series a let down it is Yu Zheng's directing, NOT Li Yitong's acting, which has oddly been criticized a lot currently. I say oddly because if you have watched more than one of her dramas you will know she is a very versatile actress. Gven Li Yitong's acting abilities have been complimented since her debut as Huang Rong in Condor Heroes, up until her most recent drama Royal Nirvana, I have confidence that her performance here will not be bad. If you do think she is a bad actress, I suggest you watch Bloody Romance, which in my opinion, showcases her best abilities. If you have watched Bloody Romance and you still think she only possesses limited facial expressions I suggest you visit an eye doctor.
I've always been so mad while thinking about this film because while it was beautiful and heart aching couldn't the guy have written a letter and included a photo of himself and say "this is what I look like now" and then she'd realize. Or maybe I'm missing some key point in the movie that I forget because I watched it four years ago, but wouldn't that have worked?
As a fan of TwoSet Violin, I know they're ESPECIALLY scathing of the ludicrous levels of inaccuracy in C-Dramas…
I really hope not... (even though I love watching their roast videos). I mean Steven Zhang can actually play piano (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9jLqIeLAeU) but I don't know about Lin Yun.
I wasn't a fan of Wang Junkai before this and I was very skeptical of his credentials to judge bands, but honestly his critiques and encouragement towards my favorite band (EzGoin) was heartwarming.
Not Luo Jin, the character, aka Xiao Dingquan (the main reason they didn't like him was because he cried way too much). The top actor list means nothing, crazy successful actors by the likes of Zhou Xun and Huo Jianhua are never featured. (and while I do like Ju Jingyi, she's not actually A-list material, and she appears on the list every week) and also Li Yitong was featured on the list (12.16-12.22). You might want to do some research before throwing accusations. The reception for the acting of the drama, both in terms of Luo Jin and Li Yitong was pretty good. Actually in 2017, when Li Yitong was in "Legend of the Condor Heroes", lots of people claimed she was the best Huang Rong since Barbara Yung, aka. better than some very popular stars like Ariel Lin and Zhou Xun (in just that role of course). So no, "everybody in China" doesn't hate her. She's not the most popular actress yet, but given that the reception for her acting as always been very good, and she consistently lands lead roles, I don't think we'll have to wait long until she does become A-list along the likes of Zhao Liying and Yang Mi.
I don't think you've actually seen dramas with bad acting. Yukee's acting is fine, it's not amazing yet, but it…
I mean, I feel like she has more than two expressions, but yes I agree that she's not quite on the level of the likes of Yang Zi yet. However, I feel like she has enough charisma to fill in the negative aspects of her acting (she herself admitted she was very bad at crying scenes for example). I think she has a bright future, and given her acting has been constantly improving (especially in crying scenes).
First of all, she's not an A-list celeb yet. Second of all, she got some fame from " Royal Nirvana". Third of all, it's not her fault that the dramas aren't instant fame quality - Blossom in Heart was badly written, Royal Nirvana featured a ML that a lot of people didn't like, and Sword Dynasty got complaints for poor editing. Did Li Yitong write the script for Blossom in Heart? Did she write the character of Xiao Dingquan? Did she edit Sword Dynasty? No? Then it's not her fault. Fans of her costars hated her...wow because that's obviously "everybody in China". She hasn't had "a lot of main character roles" either, only 6 in total, spanned across three years. It took actresses like Zhao Liying and Yang Mi many years to build their resume. And in reference to the latter, lots of people hate Yang Mi, but she's still successful. Lots of people hate Zhao Liying for the matter, and she's successful too. People are going to hate on celebrities for anything, and that doesn't mean they won't be successful.
