Bae Seokryu has been a realistic and relatable character for me, and I’m glad to see her pursuing her dreams…
You perfectly summed up what I feel about this drama! I share the same sentiments with you, Seokryu is the most relatable character for me too, as I have experienced most of what she had went through.

I agree! I think one of the reasons why Seokryu's love has been heavily misunderstood is because she is more of a silent lover type, her love for him is evident through her actions than words. I think people tend to overlook this part very much in the drama. Seokryu's love for Seunghyo is all there, throughout the storyline. We just have to look beyond the obvious that is shown. So, I never found their relationship one-sided because I know that Seokryu's love for Seunghyo is there.

If I may ask, who enjoys sad dramas more Chinese or Korean? What are some of your favorites.
These have sad endings
K-Drama:
20th Century Girl
The Hymn Of Death
Snowdrop
Youth of May
Uncontrollably Fond
The Red Sleeve
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes

If you want more sad stories, I suggest J-dramas and J-movies they have more sad and tear jerking stories imo.

J-Drama/Movie:
Even if this love disappears from the world tonight
I give my first love to you (2009 ver)
A litre of tears
Orange
Your lie in april

It's not actually a drag but has to do more with the pace of the story which is 'slow'. Since the romance trope…
So true! that's one of the things which I specifically love about LND. The transition was so perfect that their romance felt so real and natural.

it started out really good but the drag is real with this one. i just cant get myself to actually enjoy the story…
It's not actually a drag but has to do more with the pace of the story which is 'slow'. Since the romance trope here is the slow-burn type. This drama also gives the feel of slice of life and realism. So, if you are the type who likes dramas that are fast-paced, solely romance focused and fluff from get-go, then this drama won't fit your cup of tea. The romance starts at ep 11 hehe

Has anyone here watched Alchemy of Souls or Snowdrop? I’m thinking about giving them a try and would love to…
I had watched both and loved them. Snowdrop leans more to melo and action, the plot doesn't revolve around romance much, it is there but subtle. It mostly circulates in politics. I am a sucker for angst, melo and tragedy so I loved it. Furthermore, one of my fave drama is Youth of May which was released in same year, so the vibe I got kinda reminded me of it. Jung Haein's character there is one of my fave roles of his. He portrayed a spectacular acting performance and his micro expressions were insanely crazier there. As for Alchemy of Souls, I agree with everyone had said and I am also in favor of season 1.

p.s I forgot to mention, snowdrop kind of has an enemies to lovers trope.

Title Heart Signal Season 7 Spoiler
Did she mention his skin color again?!? I haven’t watched ep 5 yet
no, this time she mentioned 'fat' during her conversation w/ Oscar
On Heart Signal Season 7 Oct 2, 2024
I have no hate towards Evelyn, I liked her at the start but recently I am finding some of her 'jokes' insensitive rather than funny or a joke. I remember her last date with Tomo when she joked about his skin color, it made me uncomfortable, now with the recent episodes, she is still making those kind of jokes. Even Oscar seemed a bit taken aback at her remark, he said he couldn't and wouldn't even dare say such words himself.

Ugh same here i like the manly look but I guess since he is in his lover boy era then they have to make him look…
Yes! it went down, it is 8.5 to me now. I think there might be a glitch or the trolls mass downvoting this drama haha but we have yet to see the final ratings, last 2 episodes haven't aired and I am sure a lot of LND lovers haven't rated the drama. It will increase hopefully!

The other drama fluctuated in rating, it became 8.5 too...I saw many people complain about the bad ending.

I agree with everything you have said! I wonder when will some people start learning that DRAMAS/MOVIES are not…
Sadly, some people who are just plain toxic or simply hate the drama will never be able to get that concept. The same way they aren't able to accept different opinions or disagreements towards them. They will see and take everything as a personal attack.

I've only been enjoying engaging and reading peoples diff opinions & insights here, but it frustrates me how much unnecessary hate and toxicity has been spread here, so haha πŸ˜… thanks for your very well written opinion too!❀️

Hello ! I am following this comment section right from the starting of this drama and there were many instances…
I agree with everything you have said!

I wonder when will some people start learning that DRAMAS/MOVIES are not always created to CATER their own personal perferences or expectations all the time. It will not always turn out the way you want it to! Let's be real here, all dramas are made only for certain TARGET AUDIENCE. Not for you alone. If from watching earlier episodes, you found it is already not fitted to your liking/interest then what is so hard about dropping it? Even if your reason for watching a drama is because you love the actors starring in them, I think it is only reasonable that you stop forcing yourself to continue no matter what. There are thousands of other kdramas out there that are best suited for your own taste. LND is not the only drama left in the whole world. So, I don't really get those who obviously dislike this drama from the get-go, camping here, complaining and nitpicking about every single thing every time a new episode gets aired, when they should have left their criticism and dropped the drama a long time ago. No need to go to an extent to constantly spread negativity and then whine about those who are disagreeing.

Also, respect goes both ways. We can respect criticisms, and we have every right to also disagree with certain criticisms. Stop pulling the crap about people here not being able to accept different opinions. I believe there is a very clear distinction between actual 'criticisms' and pure 'hate' alone. If you ever see people disagreeing with certain peoples' opinions that is not directed to you, no need to feel so attacked because they aren't even disagreeing with you. Lol.

I wish LND production team made their 'mini diaries' into an epilogue scene for each episodes, instead of having them posted in text form through TVNs social medias. It's quite a disadvantage for international fans, and seems not everyone is aware of its existence or reads it. There are more hints there, especially about Seokryu's feelings for Seunghyo.
Replying to Nysryn Oct 1, 2024
when did this happen?
It's not included in the drama itself. Each week after every new episode airs, TVN would make a post about their Mini Diaries on their social medias.

I already translated them into English and made a compilation of it here, you can check the discussion section if you'd like.

Choi Seunghyo's TMI
[from a jewelry shop seller]

'That Area, That Customer'

"Oh, that customer. I remember him.
At first, I thought that he was a celebrity. He was so handsome.
His facial features are sharp, I think his family must have some amazing genes.
He looks delicate but his forearm is very muscular.
Anyway, he checked out all the bracelets in our shop.
It's not even a ring but a bracelet, it isn't common to see someone go that far for a bracelet.
He is definitely a memorable customer.
Not only the wrist sizes of each bracelet,
He also did the simulation by himself, considering everything from his eye expression to the overall vibe.
It was fun watching him get all excited and then calm down again.
Oh, right he also said something.
He said that he is going to propose to someone who is like a gold medal in his life.
In the end, he bought the prettiest and most expensive bracelet (the one with diamonds) from out of all the products we have. He bought it in an instant.
He left smiling so happily.
It was a very rewarding day for me too. I liked it!"

Trans by me.
I think this is the final diary entry we might get huhu

Am I the only one who does not understand all the β€œfiller” comments? Like this drama is perfect for me nothing…
You're not alone! I feel the same way and loving every scene there is in this drama. I never once found any scene boring, instead I get completely immersed to the point I don't even realize it has been an hour already. Honestly, the 1hr+ runtime for each episode feels so short to me...that's how much I am enjoying this drama. I agree, it is very wholesome indeed.
